Chapter 14

05:26, 22 July 2017

Colby felt like his world was crashing down as he walked through the front doors of the school. The weekend was full of daydreams filled of blonde hair and texts with multiple X's at the end. Colby was more than excited to see his Sam and was ready to go to school but it all changed as soon as he walked through the door. Sam stood by a locker, tears rushing down his face as students stared at him and now Colby himself as he entered the crowded hallways. His blues eyes wide as he scanned the walls and lockers, the picture of Sam and Colby's first kiss was plastered every where. Harsh words were thrown their way but Colby couldn't care a less as he rushed over to Sam. His Sam was crying and he wanted to do nothing but kiss his tears away but refrained, "Sam, Sammy? Calm down please. Listen to me Love." Colby bit his lip as love slipped out of his mouth but quickly forgot about the embarrassing slip as Sam latched on to Colby almost knocking him down, "Colby? What are we going to do? Who did this?!" Colby thought Sam was talking about the many pictures but with his face buried in Colby's chest he pointed to his locker. The once blue locker was nearly unrecognizable as it was spray painted with horrendous words that brought a familiar pang into Colby's chest. The same words painted on the blonde boys locker were the same words that were thrown at him at his own school before he changed. Ever since Colby lost his leather jacket for Sam he hadn't missed, not until now.

Sam knew crying about it wasn't the solution but he couldn't help it. His emotions were strung high, with his mind debating if he could ask Colby to officially be his or tell him he loved him and now this. Sam's mind was a mess and the only thing that seemed to make sense to him was to cry. Colby held onto his shaking form and listening to his heart beat helped calm the crying Sam down, "Love, Sam love listen to me. We will get through this. Let's leave for the day. Let this die down." Colby's voice was shaken but helped encourage Sam to come out of his chest. The nick name love causing a small blush to form on his cheeks as he nodded an okay, "Okay Colby, I think that would be best." The two boys walked out the front doors unaware of the shadow following behind them.

Colby steered Sam towards a near by park, pulling Sam closer to his side, his hand intertwining their fingers. They both staggered towards a bench that sat far away enough from the small kids and stay at home moms, nearly sitting on top of each other, "I'm sorry that happened." Sam murmured as Colby only shook his head leaning forward to give Sam a kiss on his temple, "It isn't your fault Sammy." Sam giggled, "I'm not talking about the pictures or words, I'm sorry about crying. I should have been stronger." Colby once again shook his head no, "That isn't something you should apologize, I can be strong enough for the both of us." Sam snuggled closer to Colby his heart pounding a thousand times per second, "Colby?" Colby hummed in response, "This isn't something I pictured asking you now but this is the only time I think I will have the courage..." Sam trailed off as Colby had a trace of a smile on his lips, "Yes love?" Colby smirked realizing the affect the small pet name had on Sam, deciding to use it as much as possible because he was in love with how adorable Sam looked with a blush on his face,

"Colby would you, uh, maybe be my boyfriend? I know it is so soon but I really really lo- adore you." Sam's face burned at the almost slip of admitting his real feelings. Colby smiled wildly pulling Sam into a small kiss. Pulling apart slowly Colby quietly mumbled, "Of course." Causing Sam to realize that he had finally landed at the bottom of the rabbit hole. The world could be filled with talking flowers and madmen and Sam couldn't care a less. It seemed like wonderland wouldn't matter if Colby wasn't there. His little white rabbit.

The sun beamed down on the cuddling couple, the crying and the pictures that still hung in the halls of Blue Valley were long forgotten but the couple. The two listened to the laughs of children in the distance as they stole small kisses, both of them blissfully happy not caring that they both were falling quickly instead they were focused on the fact that they were going to crash together in the end. The sea and the moon were one and in love although neither of them said the word out loud both of them just seemed to know.

Although the sun was shining, in the shadows a cold boy sat in watched, wishing there was more crying and more brokenness. He wanted them to shatter, to hit the ground screaming. Matt Rangers was dumb but he was learning. He knew how to make fragile men break and he had a plan, a plan worth a thousand praises. He was a genius when it came to hurting others, and the moon and sea had no idea what was about to come.

The boys sat blissfully unaware of the seething hatred behind them too absorbed in the other to care. Wonderland shone but the queen or hearts was ready to strike ready to off their heads.
