Chapter 6

Warning: sadness, mention of child neglect/ abuse

"(y/n) has been missing for 5 years but wasn't reported missing until last year. It says she was snatched at the park foster parents weren't paying attention too busy watching 11 other kids" Tony said

"This place is a fucking mess. Look at how many hospital visits they've made. And see here people have left there making accusations and they're completely ignored. Jesus Christ." Clint was frustrated with the report. Seeing as (y/n) was human and was from earth the Avengers figured they'd look her up and see what happened or what information there was. Unfortunately, there was no good news.

Young teenage mother got pregnant then put the baby in the system hoping she'd get a better family. She was sort of right but also wrong. (y/n) was put in a home, a foster family picked her at 6 months, 3 months later they gave her back. A year, another family picked her, 2 years later they were found to be extremely unfit parents. 4 years old the next family came they seemed good having 10 other seemingly happy and healthy kids. No one saw a problem.

A year after that Loki found her and everything was good for a while. Everything was perfect. Then Thanos got them pulled them apart like paper and let them float in the waters that was the universe for 4 years. This child did not have a very nice beginning but the end seemed to become together nicely.

"we've got to contact the authorities. Let them know what's going on"

"and tell them what Steve 'yeah you know that kid that went missing last year well she's actually been missing for 5 years. The same dude that destroyed Manhattan took her when she ran away. And she' s been running around the galaxy ever since so... yeah" Tony said

" I don't think they'll believe that"

"Bucky"

"Yeah, Steve?"

"shut up"

"okay".

"As bad as it sounds we've got to tell the cops. We can't let those other kids stay there" Sam said being the calm voice of reason for the day.

Loki squeezed he had been gripping something or someone that wasn't there. He immediately jumped up now wide awake and in a panic.

"good morning" Loki looked down to see (y/n) on the floor surrounded by papers and coloring utensils " you slept in that chair for a long time, like two days," she said not looking up from her coloring.

Loki kneels on the floor next to her "well it's been a long time since I've slept. I've been busy looking for you .. and ruling Asgard but mostly looking for you" (y/n) smiled up at him but it soon faded into a frown.

"I thought you died. They said you died" she cried Loki chuckled to himself a bit as his own tears spilled "I thought you were dead too. 4 years I thought I had failed you. I'm so sorry I'm so sorry" Loki cried as he pulled her into his chest.

"you died, you died" she cried over and over again.

All Loki could do was apologize over and over again. What happened. What had he done, why did he do this? He just had to pick up this strange child. He should have left her but no he threw her into his chaotic life. He caused her pain. If Loki hadn't picked her up she wouldn't have gone through all this pain. What had Loki done? Why had Loki done this? what if he had left he ? what if he had left her in the street that night? What if he never came to earth that day?

would she still be in pain?
