Lizzie's / Melody's pov:
We burst out of the door just before the explosion. It caused the both of us to fall down on the cemented floor. My glasses flew off and I heard crack, meaning they probably broke. Who cares, I can see without them too.
The cap was still on my head and I adjusted it. I could hear pieces of the building falling, so I rolled over to lie on my back. The Doctor did the same, lying next to me. I shut my eyes.
Then suddenly started laughing. It first was a little laugh, which the Doctor soon joined, but it then transformed into an insane laugh. The both of us bent over in laugher on the floor and I even wiped a tear.
«Wasn't that just-»
«Fantastic?» I asked turning my face to face him.
He grinned. «Fantastic.» with that he got up on his feat, dusting his leather jacket.
«Now, come on, Melody. We have to see if our mission succeeded.» he said then took off. I sighed in annoyance, still lying on the floor.
I knew he wasn't all into gentleman manners but come on! I stood up, groaning slightly, then followed.
We proceeded down the street, the Doctor walking first and I following slightly behind. Really behind actually. He was way quicker than I was.
«Coming?» he shouted as turned to the corner.
«Trying!» I called back then groaned and took off running behind him. As I turned the corner I stopped. The Doctor was standing in front of the TARDIS, his arms folded on his chest.
He looked up at it and then back at me, grinning almost maniacally. «What'd you think?» he asked me.
You know that awkward moment when your future crush shows you his time machine that you saw in your dreams since you were 5, in which you then travelled with the future him and next to which he snagged you before leaving you and making you meet with the past him? I am not making comments.
I nodded at him raising my brow in appreciation. «It's a nice... Box.» I said, much to irritate him.
He pushed his body away from the TARDIS and looked at me, slightly offended «It's not just a box! It's a time machine!» he resonated.
I nodded slowly and sarcastically. «Reeeally? Woow.» I said, trying to hide that big amount of sarcasm.
He instead didn't heart it «I know.» he said, grinning like a child looking at it proudly. This made me smile. Even though he was so different he was still the Doctor.
How cliché.
«Can I come in?» I asked, knowing how much he would be happy to hear someone doing compliments to his so loved Time Machine. He looked at me and his face lightening up.
«Of course.» he grabbed my hand «Come on.» he said and pulled me behind. He opened the door then going in and leaving my hand. I slowly, hiding a smile, walked in. The whole console room was different. It looked almost... Smaller. There were round things on the walls which probably were panels, there was a small console, smaller than in the future and a jump seat.
«You've redecorated her.» I accidentally said, not that loud luckily.
«Sorry what?» he asked.
«Oh, nothing.» I observed the beautiful time machine.
«Well? Anything you want to say? Any passing remarks?» he asked standing near the console, his arms folded on his chest.
I grinned, my head thrown backwards as I observed the ceiling «Oh, I bet you've heard them all.» I said, glancing at him from the corner of my eye.
He silently chuckled. «Indeed.»
I smiled still looking around. Then stuck my eyes on him «It's smaller on the outside.» I said.
He stared at me, rather surprised.
I chuckled «I also bet no one told you that before. The first thing that comes to mind is 'it's bigger on the inside', doesn't it Doctor?» I asked, amused.
He unfazed. «It does. Perhaps that's the best part.» he told me and I smiled while walking to the console.
«It's called the TARDIS, this thing.» he told me.
«Time And Relative Dimension In Space.» I said smiling. I know it probably would've ruined my cover but I didn't care. This whole lying thing was too difficult to bare. He stared at me confused at how I knew that.
«Well, you told me it was a time machine. And I am sure it can move in space too.» I resonated looking down at the console. He still stared at me uncertainly but I brushed his look off.
I ran my fingers through the buttons and suddenly the TARDIS let out a loud groan. Some lights started shining, the whole console glowed. I slightly backed up as the whole place started shaking.
«Wow.» the Doctor said as he quickly started pressing buttons on the console. The TARDIS calmed down, slowly. He looked up at me «She usually doesn't do that.» he said, eyeing me up and down.
«She looks... happy.» he said confused looking down at the console. I raised at brow, mostly at the TARDIS. «She never reacted like that at new people.» he said, frowning.
It was impossible she knew me because we haven't met yet. All this was really strange.
«Maybe she's just happy you found someone after that whole time.» I said, softly placing my hand on the console. She now gently groaned under my touch, as she always did in the future.
I looked up at the confused Doctor. «I can tell you didn't have companions for a long time now.» I said eyeing his face. It looked so sad and exhausted even though he tried to hide that. He did the same observing mine, then lowering his eyes down on his hands which were landed on the console.
«Am I right, Doctor?» I asked, gently.
He looked up at me and smiled sadly. Almost apologetically. Like if he was sorry for disappointing me. I felt a sudden urge to hug him, and that's what I did.
I came closer to him and pulled him into a hug. For a second he didn't react. I could tell he hasn't been hugged for a long time. But then he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me into a hug, squeezing me to him gently.
We stood there for a long moment just hugging. I knew he needed that after all he went through. I placed my chin on his shoulder while he buried his nose in my hair.
«It's okay, Doctor...» I whispered in his ear. I could feel how bitter he was feeling. I ran a hand on his back. «I promise... From now on... You're gonna be fantastic.»

Rose's pov:
«The whole of Central London has been closed off as police investigate the fire. Early reports indicate.» the lady on the BBC news said.
Mom was on the telephone with friends and family while I was slumped on the settee.
«I know. It's on the telly. It's everywhere. She's lucky to be alive. Honestly, it's aged her. Skin like an old bible. Walking in now you'd think I was her daughter. Oh, and here's himself.» She said at the phone, increasing my will to strangle her.
I rolled my eyes just as Mickey walked in. «I've been phoning your mobile. You could've been dead. It's on the news and everything. I can't believe that your shop went up!» he exclaimed.
«I'm all right, honestly, I'm fine! Don't make a fuss.» I insisted.
«Well, what happened?» he asked.
I sighed. Of course I wasn't going to tell him about the mad couple, «I don't know!» I said frustrated.
«What was it though? What caused it?» he asked.
«I wasn't in the shop. I was outside. I didn't see anything.» I lied.
Mom walked in. «It's Debbie on the end. She knows a man on the Mirror. Five hundred quid for an interview.»
«Oh that's brilliant! Give it here.» I said smiling sarcastically then took the phone from her and hung up.
«Well, you've got to find some way of making money. Your job's kaput and I'm not bailing you out.» she said, making me roll my eyes.
The telephone rang again. Mom answered it.
«Bev! She's alive. I've told her, sue for compensation. She was within seconds of death.» mom said, leaving. I rolled my eyes again. What a drama queen.
Mickey took the mug of tea I was drinking «What're you drinking, tea? Nah, nah, that's no good, that's no good. You're in shock. You need something stronger.» he said.
«I'm alright.» I protested.
He got up «Now, come on, you deserve a proper drink. We're going down the pub, you and me. My treat. How about it?»
I grinned «Is there a match on?»
«No, I'm just thinking about you, babe.»
«There's a match on, isn't there?»
«That's not the point, but we could catch the last five minutes.» he said.
«Go on, then. I'm fine, really. Go. Get rid of that.» I just now remembered I brought the dummies arm home so I held it out for him. He took it.
He bent down and kissed me.
«Bye, bye.» he waved it at me.
I chuckled «Bye.»
Mickey pretended to be strangled by the arm, then left. I rolled my eyes at his childish manners then looked back at the tv.
«Fire then spread throughout the store. Fifteen fire crews are in attendance though it's thought there is very little chance of saving the infrastructure.» It said but my mind was elsewhere.
Somewhere wondering about 'The Doctor' and 'Melody'.
~~~~
The Next morning, my alarm went off at 7:30 as usual. I got up, sleepy but happy because of the new day of work. But then it hit me. I didn't have a job anymore.
«There's no point in getting up, sweetheart. You've got no job to go to.» mom called from the hallway. I sighed stroking my sleepy eyes.
I then got up, change, brushed my teeth and went into the kitchen making myself a cup of tea.
«There's Finch's. You could try them. They've always got jobs.» mum told me once I collapsed on the sofa.
«Oh, great. The butchers.» I said, sarcasm sounding clear.
«Well, it might do you good. That shop was giving you airs and graces. And I'm not joking about compensation. You've had genuine shock and trauma. Arianna got two thousand quid off the council just because the old man behind the desk said she looked Greek! I know she is Greek, but that's not the point. It was a valid claim.» she said and I didn't even bother to listen.
Suddenly something rattled at the door.
«Mom, you're such a liar. I told you to nail that cat flap down. We're going to get strays.» I told her, getting up.
«I did it weeks back!» she called from the bedroom.
«No, you thought about it.» I called back. I screwed for the cat flap are on the floor. Suddenly the flap moved. I kneeled down and opened it.
I came face to face with the strange man from yesterday, the Doctor I believe, trying to look through. I got up and opened the door.
«What're you doing here?» he asked, jumping on his feet.
«I live here.» I resonated.
«Well, what do you do that for?» he asked.
«Because I do. I'm only at home because someone blew up my job.» I accused.
Suddenly the girl, Melody, popped from somewhere then standing next to him. She now changed her clothes and, may I say, she looked way better.
She was skinny, but in a good way, she wore a sweater with skinny blue jeans and a scarf wrapped around her neck. She didn't wear glasses, and her hair was combed into a braid.
«Hey there, Rose!» she spoke, delightfully. Then addressed the Doctor «You must have gotten the wrong signal. You're not plastic, are you?» she asked, looking at me.
The next thing I know, the Doctor is knocking on my forehead. «No, bonehead.» his hand fell down by his side, intertwining with Melody's. He then beamed me a smile «Bye, then.»
Melody smiled too, and the both of them turned around, ready to leave.
Hell no. «You. Inside. Right now.» I said, grabbing the Doctor's arm and pulling him into the flat, Melody, who's hand was still intertwined with his, following.
Lizzie's pov:
Rose pulled us into her flat and closed the door behind. I looked around myself, observing the hallway. I felt really exited cause it was like I was meeting all my favorite characters of a story. Except now I was in the story too.
«Who is it?» a woman called from the bedroom, making a slight grin spear across my face. Jackie Tyler. A brilliant (but slightly annoying) woman.
«It's about last night. They're part of the inquiry. Give us ten minutes.» Rose called, going into the kitchen.
I observed the hallway we were standing in, my hand still in the Doctor's. I didn't even notice when he took my hand anymore, it was some sort of a habit now. I felt so protected when near him.
«She deserves compensation.» Jackie told, mainly the Doctor, who now stood in the open doorway.
I left go of his hand, walking a bit further, observing the flat. As I did his hands flew into his jacket pockets.
«Oh, we're talking millions.» I heard him say from where I stood. The next word I heard made me stop in my tracks.
«I'm in my dressing gown.» Jackie suddenly said. I stopped, but didn't turn around. I wanted to listen what would the conversation end with.
«Yes, you are.» the Doctor agreed.
«There's a strange man in my bedroom.» she said. I rolled my eyes.
«Yes, there is.»
Jackie shrugged «Well, anything could happen.»
Doctor thought a bit then, with all sarcasm he had, shook his head «No.» then walked away and into the living room, where I was standing.
He stopped behind me and, as I heard him sighing, I looked up at him.
«Humans.» he said, exasperatedly.
I chuckled, giving a supportive pat on his chest «Tell me about it.»
I then walked pass him, observing the room.
«Don't mind the mess. Do you want coffee?» Rose asked, standing in the room while I decided to take a look through her library.
«Might as well, thanks. Just milk.» he replied, his arms behind his back.
«What about you Melody?» she asked.
I didn't look up, still looking through her books.
«Melody?» she called again. Then it hit me. Shoot, I am Melody. I still need to get used to it.
I spun my head around «Yes sorry, what?»
«You want coffee?»
«Um, yeah why not.» I said, continuing looking through the books.
«How would you like it?» she asked.
I sighed in thoughts. I was wondering how the story went on because, in my dreams, I saw only The Doctors and Rose meeting, and I was really curious of the following. «Hot, and wet would be marvelous.» I told her. «And two sugars. Please.» I added falling on the nearest armchair. The Doctor chuckled silently.
«We should go to the police. Seriously. The three of us.» Rose said, not noticing or pretending not having done so, my slightly rude statement as she walked into the kitchen.
I picked up a random book from the coffee table, then looking at it. I shrugged why not I though, and opened it. I started reading the first page but the Doctor stepped in. «That won't last, he's gay and she's an alien.» he told me.
I silently groaned in exasperation and shut the book throwing it back on the coffee table. Reading books in his company have never been my favorite pastime. Because he would spoil everything.
«I'm not blaming you, even if it was just some sort of joke that went wrong.» Rose called from the kitchen, while the Doctor flicked through a paperback. I observed him taking out a book, noticing the cover straight away.
«Hmm.» he said in thoughts.
«Sad ending.» I snapped, my gaze pointed on the arm of the armchair I was sitting on, where my hand was playing with its material. I could feel him looking up at me and glaring slightly. I stifled a laugh.
«They said on the news they'd found a body.» Rose said, completely unaware we weren't exactly listening.
«Rose Tyler.» the Doctor read her name on an envelope. That made me smile. The fact that I was present at their first meeting made me happy and fond of myself. But I still didn't know why I was here.
He then turned around only to meet with his reflection in a mirror. I understood he just regenerated and it was the first time he saw himself when he spoke «Ah. Could've been worse. Look at the ears.» he observed himself in the mirror.
«Don't be such a teenage girl, Doctor. You look good.» I told him picking up a random magazine and looking through it.
«Ah... Thanks, Mel.» he said. I sighed in exasperation as I was just associated a new nickname. Yey.
«All the same, he was nice. Nice bloke.» Rode meanwhile spoke.
The Doctor tried to shuffle a pack of cards but it went flying. I dropped the magazine I was holding with a sight and kneeled down to collect them. Such a child.
«Luck be a lady.» was his comment.
«Anyway, if we are going to go to the police, I want to know what I'm saying.» Rose said. «I want you to explain everything.»
«Maybe not.» he mumbled so only I could hear him. I nudged him in his stomach, playfully. He stifled a chuckle.
Suddenly the cat flap rattled. I frowned.
«What's that, then?» the Doctor asked, himself and I.
«You got a cat?» I asked Rose.
«No.» she replied. I frowned even more.
Suddenly the Auton's arm launched on the Doctor's throat. My eyes widened in fear for a second but then they were replaced by determination. I grabbed the arm and, with all the force I had, I pulled it. I pulled and pulled and pulled but nothing happened, the Doctors face becoming incarnadine.
«We did have, but now they're just strays. They come in off the estate.» Rose said, coming in with two mugs. The Doctor was still being strangled and I was still trying to pull the plastic arm off of his throat. But, apparently, Rose took no notice.
«I told Mickey to chuck that out. You're all the same. Give a man a plastic hand. Anyway, I don't even know your name. Doctor, what was it?» she asked. I threw her a frustrated glare.
«Rose. Up. Help. Now!» I urgently said as I was still trying to pull the arm off of the Doctor's throat. She stared at me confused, her eyebrows frowned. I rolled my eyes understanding she wouldn't have done a thing.
I then finally managed to throw the arm off. It stopped in mid air but then launched and grabbed Rose's face.
The Doctor and I launched at her, reached for it and trying to pull it off.
Eventually the both of us, somehow, managed to pull Rose down on top of us as we fell onto the coffee table and smashed it. Pain shot through my whole back because I was the first to fall and, a part of the Doctor, fell on my body.
Somewhere in the background I heard the noise of a hairdryer and I understood Jackie was drying her hair. So she couldn't have heard anything.
The Doctor finally got it off Rose with his sonic screwdriver, then jabbed the device into its palm. The fingers stopped flexing.
«It's all right, I've stopped it. There you go, you see? Harmless.» he said, panting a little.
«Do you think?» she asked then hitting him with it.
«Ow!»
I tried to chuckle but it went out more like a groan, as I still lied on the broken table. The Doctor looked down at me and suddenly his face fell, preoccupation taking over. He crouched down next to me.
«Mel, you alright?» he asked helping me up gently. I ignored the nickname.
«I'm fine. Terrific.» I said as he picked me up placed me on the floor carefully. I could see his blue eyes filled with worry and I bet he was blaming himself. Cause he was just that type of person.
I placed a hand on his cheek and smiled reassuringly and he shifted a bit as I touched him. «You really don't have to worry, Doctor. I am fine. I promise.» I told him. He smiled a little but I could still tell he was not that comfortable with it. So I removed my hand, giving him one more reassuring smile.
He seemed released and grabbed my hand, intertwining our fingers, then leading me out if the flat. Rose, of course, ran after us and down the stairs.
«Hold on a minute. You can't just go swanning off.» she said running after us. Our arms linked, the Doctor and I were walking down the stairs.
«Yes we can. Here we are. This is us, swanning off.» he spoke.
I looked at Rose over my shoulder and smiled «See you.»
«But that arm was moving. It tried to kill me.» Rose resonated.
«Ten out of ten for observation.» the Doctor said as we now reached the ground and were walking down the street.
I nudged him softly. «Rude.» I whispered. He grinned slightly, evidently fond of himself, making me roll my eyes.
«You can't just walk away. That's not fair. You've got to tell me what's going on.» Rose protested.
«No, I don't.» the Doctor denied. We were now outside of the blokes flats.
«All right, then. I'll go to the police. I'll tell everyone. You said, if I did that, I'd get people killed. So, your choice. Tell me, or I'll start talking.» Rose said, running in front of us.
I snorted, not a tiny bit scared of her threats and, contrarily, annoyed «Is that supposed to sound tough?» I asked her.
«Sort of.» she replied, now more insecure.
«Doesn't work.» The Doctor said. I let out a silent chuckle.
«Who are you?» Rose asked.
«Told you. The Doctor and Melody.» I told her.
«Yeah, but Doctor what?»
«Just the Doctor.» this time the Doctor answered.
«The Doctor.» Rose slowly said.
The Doctor grinned like a Cheshire Cat. He waved at her «Hello!»
«Is that supposed to sound impressive?» Rose asked, with a slight smirk.
«Sort of.»
«Yeah.» I added with a soft smile. Rose smiled back while The Doctor grinned.
«Come on, then. You can tell me. I've seen enough. Are you the police?» Rose asked and I snorted. Again.
«No, we were just passing through. I'm a long way from home.» the Doctor said instead, and I nodded in agreement.
«But what have I done wrong? How come those plastic things keep coming after me?» Rose asked.
This time the Doctor snorted «Oh, suddenly the entire world revolves around you. You were just an accident. You got in the way, that's all.»
«It tried to kill me.» Rose retorted.
«It was after us, not you. Last night, in the shop, we were there, you blundered in, almost ruined the whole thing. This morning, we was tracking it down, it was tracking us down. The only reason it fixed on you is 'cos you've met us.» he told her.
«So what you're saying is, the entire world revolves around you.» Rose said sarcastically.
«Sort of, yeah.» The Doctor and I said in synchronized.
Rose smirked «You're full of it.»
«Sort of, yeah.» we said it together again.
«But, all this plastic stuff. Who else knows about it?» Rose asked.
«No one.» the Doctor replied dryly.
«What, you're on your own?» Rose asked him.
«I have Melody.» he said. That made me smile. He wanting me to stay was the best thing ever.
«That's it?» Rose asked, making my fond smile fall.
«Well, who else is there? I mean, you lot, all you do is eat chips, go to bed, and watch telly, while all the time, underneath you, there's a war going on.» the Doctor said.
Wow. He was really different than the eleventh. Way more negative than him. Although it was always him and I was starting to grow fond of him. I really cared for him, however he looked and however he behaved.
«Okay. Start from the beginning. I mean, if we're going to go with the living plastic, and I don't even believe that, but if we do, how did you kill it?» Rose asked. I shivered when she said kill it and was surprised that the Doctor squeezed my hand straight after that. I looked up at him and he smiled supportively and apologetically. I was surprised he understood how I felt.
But I guess it was reciprocal since I always could tell how and what he felt.
«The thing controlling it projects life into the arm. I cut off the signal, dead.» he then told Rose.
«So that's radio control?» Rose asked.
«Thought control.»
Rose looked down at the ground in disbelief, trying to absorb the insane information. That made me smile at her, sympathetically «Are you all right?» I asked, placing a hand on Rose's back supportively.
«Yeah.» she nodded, rather absently «So, who's controlling it, then?»
I smiled, lopsidedly «Long story.»
«But what's it all for? I mean, shop window dummies, what's that about? Is someone trying to take over Britain's shops?» Rose asked. The Doctor and I giggled.
«No.» I told her.
«No?» Rose inquired, giggling too.
«It's not a price war.» his face grew serious. «They want to overthrow the human race and destroy you.» he told her. He looked at him like if he was totally out of her mind.
Which brought me to ask her the following question «Do you believe him?» I asked her, catching a glimpse of fear in her eyes, which made me sure of her answer. Because people never believe things they are scared about.
«No.» she, in fact, replayed.
«But you're still listening.» I pointed out with an amused smile. She rolled her eyes.
«Really, though, Doctor, Melody. Tell me, who are you?» she questioned glancing in through him and I.
The Doctor stopped which caused me to stop too, because we were walking arm in arm.
«Do you know like we were saying about the Earth revolving? It's like when you were a kid. The first time they tell you the world's turning and you just can't quite believe it because everything looks like it's standing still. I can feel it. The turn of the Earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinning at a thousand miles an hour, and the entire planet is hurtling round the sun at sixty seven thousand miles an hour, and I can feel it. We're falling through space, you and me, clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, and if we let go. That's who I am. Now, forget me, Rose Tyler. Go home.» The Doctor said and pulled me behind him into the TARDIS. I flashed her an apologetic smile before disappearing in the blue box.
Rose's pov:
He pulled Melody behind himself into a blue police box and she smiled at me apologetically. I watched it for a bit but then decided to do as The Doctor said. I walked off towards another block of flats, my head down watching the ground that suddenly was the most interesting thing in the hole world.
Suddenly I heard a rush of air and a strange noise. I automatically turned around and took off running back, only to find out that the blue police box was gone.
