General pov:

Amy entered the console room with Rory following behind. The two of them had tea together in the kitchen because the Doctor and Lizzie wouldn't join. She smiled at what she saw: the Doctor was pacing around the console, flipping switches and pushing buttons while Lizzie sat on it, a leg crossed on the other and holding an open book.

«"And yet, they were all exactly alike. Every one of them was chalky pale, the palest of all the students living in this sunless town. Paler than me, the albino. They all had very dark eyes despite the range in hair tones. They also had dark shadows under those eyes - purplish, bruiselike shadows. As if they were all suffering from a sleepless night, or almost done recovering from a broken nose. Though their noses, all their features, were straight, perfect, angular."» Lizzie read.

The Doctor, still walking around with his jacket on, scoffed and, since Lizzie completely ignored him, Amy figured out he was doing that often.

Amy walked to them «Hey! Whatcha guys doin'?» She asked them, Rory joining her by her side.

Lizzie closed the book then dropping it in her lap «Oh, nothing interesting. He was bored, I was bored, so I read him a pice of Twilight.»

The Doctor mumbled something under his nose similar to 'the most rubbishy thing I ever heard'.

«He didn't like it.» Lizzie informed, shaking her head a little.

«Well, I don't blame him. Neither do I after meeting them. They're not at all beautiful as Stephenie Meyer describes them.» Amy said, leading on the railings with Rory next to me.

«I can bet she never met a vampire. They are everything but beautiful.» Rory added.

«They are beautiful in a way actually.» Lizzie told them. Everyone stopped and stared at her, the Doctor popping his head out, confusion drawn on his face.

Lizzie threw a glance at everyone for then stop on the Doctor. «Don't tell me that you don't find their race fascinating?» she asked him.

The Doctor, rubbing his fingers on his thumbs, looked up in thoughts «Maybe a little...» he said glancing back at Lizzie.

She gave him a 'spill the beans' look.

«Okay fine, I do!» the Doctor said, making a fond grin spear across Lizzie's lips.

«That's what I thought.» she said, returning to look at Amy and Rory who were trying to contain a laugh.

«You two look like an old married couple sometimes.» Amy said. Lizzie rolled her eyes on her friend's remark.

They were interrupted by the Doctor who pushed down a lever.

«Where are we going next, Doctor?» Amy asked him.

«London!» he announced while Lizzie jumped down from the console.

Amy's enthusiasm dropped a little, she much more preferred to visit planets. «Okay, when? Shakespeare? Tower of London?»

«Beatles?» Rory suggested.

«Present day!» the Doctor told them.

Amy frowned. «What is it, you ran out of fish fingers and custard?» she sarcastically asked.

«Yes, and we need to drop Lizzie off.» he told Amy.

Amy spun around to face the young girl who was taking her jacket. «What?! You are leaving? Why?!» she exclaimed.

«Of course I'm not leaving! Well, I am but I will come back soon. It will be a week for me and some adventures for you.» she told Amy, who still wasn't convinced, Lizzie putting her jacket on and fixing her hair.

«But why? -she raised a brow folding her arms on her chest and throwing a severe look towards the Doctor- Did he do something to you?» she asked, making the Doctor wince uncomfortably fixing his bow tie, making Lizzie laugh.

«No, no, not his fault. I just need to pay a friend of mine a visit.» Lizzie said putting a bag on her shoulders.

«But I thought we were your friends.» Rory whined.

Lizzie chuckled, approaching the Ponds. «You are. But I need to check up on her too.» she said smiling at them. She still was surprised the Doctor let her go so easily.

The Ponds looked at her saddened. «Oh, come 'ere you.» Lizzie said, pulling them into a tight hug.

«I'll be back very soon. I promise.» she said in their shoulders. They then pulled away.

«Amy, you are in charge to look after him.» she said pointing at the Doctor. «Rory you are in charge to look after the two of them and Doctor... -she turning to look at him- Buy a fez.»

The Doctor straightened up and saluted her in a military way «Yes, ma'am.»

«Not even going to start.» Lizzie said sighing exasperatedly and raising her hands in surrender.

The Doctor pulled a lever, the TARDIS shook violently and then Lizzie walked up to the doors followed by the Doctor.

Before leaving she once more glanced at Rory and Amy «Good bye, Ponds.» she said and exited before Rory could say something.

«Okay, don't try to put your head in the microwave again; don't play golf with the Ood's communicator because that was really rude; be nice to the Ponds and to River if you'll meet her again; don't loose the Ponds; don't kill anyone especially Rory.» Lizzie said pointing a warning finger at him.

«Oi! I'm not a 5 year old, I am a grown up adult.» the Doctor tried to defend himself.

Lizzie folded her arms on her chest «You put your head into the microwave to see if it would've melted.»

The Doctor glanced up, fixing his bow tie, annoyed at the fact that Lizzie was right. «That was a scientific experiment.» he said, glancing down at Lizzie, loud enough so only she could hear him.

«Getting your head stuck in a pan was too?» she asked raising a brow, amused at the Time Lord.

«That was an accident.» he said.

Lizzie laughed, glancing around in amusement like hoping that a noisy passenger heard their conversation and would've laughed too. The Doctor meanwhile just watched her, looking at her beautiful smile one last time. Trying to remember every single moment of this. Every single moment of Lizzie Smith. He watched her brown hair flying at the wind and softly caressing her cheeks. He watched her. Because he knew he wouldn't see Lizzie ever again.

Lizzie's pov:

That man. I looked back at him, only to see that he was looking at me with that lovely smile of his. Yes, he was looking at me but I could tell his mind was somewhere else. I would give everything to know what was he thinking. But then I noticed something: that smile was sad.

I frowned «Doctor, what's-» But I was cut off by him suddenly wrapping his arms around my body and pulling me in a hug, almost jumping on me wildly. I stood there, uncertain of what to do while he squeezed me to himself even more. I eventually hugged him back and decided just to enjoy his touch. He burrried his nose in my hair then placing a kiss on my temple, burring his nose in my neck again.

We stood there for at least 5 minutes, but they flew like seconds.

«You look after yourself, okay?» he eventually said, his chin rested on my shoulder.

«Doctor, I-»

«Just promise me that, Lizzie. Promise me you will look after yourself.» he cut me off again. I still didn't understand what was happening.

I ran my hand on his jacket: it was rough but soft at the touch. I sighed «I promise.»

«And please remember the first rule.» he said.

«Okay, but Doctor why-»

«What is the first rule, Lizzie?» he asked me. I sighed rolling my eyes.

«'The Doctor lies'.» I then said. I always disliked that rule.

He rubbed a hand back and forth on my back, squeezing me to him. «Good, very good. And you know why I do that?»he asked.

«No.» I said, now confused at what was he getting at.

«'Cause I want to protect the people I love.» he said. That made me smile. «And because sometimes I'm just scared of their reaction when I will tell it to them.» At that I sadly chuckled.

«I know that feeling.» I said without even thinking.

«I know you do.» he said in my hair and I could hear the sadness in his voice. What was going on?

«Lizzie, you will have to lie.» he told me.

«But why?» I asked confused.

«To protect people you love. To protect me.» he said and my eyes widened. He... He knew I loved him?

«I-I don't understand...» I tried to say. I waited for him to tell me that he knew I had a crush on him, telling me he didn't love me back. But that didn't happen.

He pulled away instead taking my head inthrough his hands. I could feel his hot breath on my face. He gazed in my eyes, first in the one then in the other. I was still confused and tried to control myself from dropping my jaw at how handsome he looked.

«Okay, I really am sorry for this, but I can't do this anymore.» he said still gazing in my eyes.

I slightly frowned and opened my mouth to ask 'What are you talking about?' but that sentence got lost in the air. 'Cause what he did was crushing his lips on mine. At first I winced and even let out a little squeak, staring at his closed eyes and his head bent on mine, wide eyes. He was kissing me. The Doctor was kissing me. He was freaking kissing me! He was literally making out with me!

I am- my mind turned off. There was no world around me anymore. Just me and the Doctor. My eyes fully closed with pleasure. I gave in to the kiss and kissed back.

He kissed me again, moving our heads at different sides, the both of us grabbing air as we did and smashed our lips back together. His lips were wet, warm and soft. He tasted of infinity. Fish fingers and custard. And maybe just a bit of honey (no idea where that one came from).

My cheeks flushed red, my forehead coming from wrinkled to relaxed, my hands sweating a bit. I never kissed someone before, so I was rather nervous. Our noses slightly bumped in each other so we had to tilt our heads to the side. I kissed him as passionately as he did, loving our closeness.

My head was still cupped in between his hands, his touch sending energy in my body like a charger, his thumbs rubbing circles on my cheekbones.

My body was a bit tense while his was completely relaxed like if he've done it before. My heart beat fast with excitement and just a bit of nervousness. But the other part was completely singing in joy.

He gave me one last kiss and pulled away, still resting an inch from my lips. I opened my eyes only to see his eyes looking down at me minehalf-lidded with desire. I was blushing madly. I tried to hide my confused face as to why he suddenly kissed me but I was sure a big question mark was drawn on my face.

«Later, Smith.» he said then softly and gently kissed the tip of my nose and, before I could say anything, he got in the TARDIS closing the door behind him. The second later it disappeared leaving a really confused me just standing there.

I stood there for a couple of minutes, not even blinking and staring in nothingness in pure shock. Eventually I blinked a few times. «Well done Lizzie, just snogged your childhood hero.» I said to myself before starting walking down the field where the Doctor left me.

I could almost hear slow and sarcastic claps in the background.

Unknown pov:

Knock knock knock.

My head flew up and I frowned slightly. It was Sunday 3 pm, plus I didn't have a lot of friends. So who might've it be?

I took off my chemistry mask and put it down on the table, still holding the eyeball in my hand.

«Who's there?» I asked, my voice echoing in the corridor as I walked through it.

I reached for the handle and opened the door only to frizz. Completely. I stared in shock at the girl behind it.

«Not dead.» she smiled wildly. I suddenly dropped the eyeball from my hands making it fall and roll under something in my flat, shocked.

«B-but... You- I- we thought- Elizabeth?» I asked her not sure it was her.

«It's just Lizzie now.» she corrected then grinned even more «Hello, Molly Hooper. Long time no see.»

~~~~
Molly's pov:
I made Lizzie and myself a mug of tea and sat down on the couch. Meanwhile, she paced around the living room with the mug in her hand.
«So...» I attempted to start a dialogue.
«It haven't changed here.» she interrupted, sliding her hands on the library. «It's all the same. Books, chemistry stuff... Even the smell.» she sniffed the air.
«Tea and gas. You should really stop using it in your house, these things are poison, Molly.» she said then sipping her tea.
I shrugged «Perhaps I should... But I don't want to. I often get bored and that's what I do to chill myself up.» I told her, siping my tea too.
«Well, you certainly could ask Sherly for some other ways to fight boredom. I'm sure he knows many of them.» she said. I gulped as she did.
«Afraid I can't.» I said, my voice slightly shaking. I wasn't good at lying.
Her head spun around to look at me. «What'd you mean?» she asked raising a brow.
I gulped again then lowered my head looking at the cup. «He's dead.» I told. Then raised my eyes glancing at her.
She had a frowned expression on her face but then nodded. That confused me a little bit. «How did he die?» she asked.
Oh god.
Okay, I just had to tell her he jumped down a building. No emotion. Okay, you can do this Molly. «H-he jumped from the roof of St Bartholomew.» I said, not making any eye contact with her.
«So, you are telling me, he committed a... suicide?» she asked slowly.
I glanced down. «Yes.»
She nodded again. A little moment of silence followed, in which I took a big sip of my tea.
«You know what think?» she suddenly said making me look up at here. She jumped over the couch in front of me and landed sitting up straight. «You should paint your walls. Maybe a light pink or something.» she said.
I stared at her wild eyes, suddenly really mad at her. I put the cup on the table and stood up, with an angry expression «ELIZABETH MELODY SMITH.» I firmly said. She stared at me from down, slightly surprised at the tone of my voice.
«HOW DARE YOU TAKE SO SIMPLY THE DEATH OF YOUR BEST FRIEND?! AND HOW DARE YOU LEAVE FOR 4 YEARS WITHOUT EVEN BOTHERING TO INFORM US?!»
«4 years?» she questioned wide eyes. I carried on.
«THEN SUDDENLY COME BACK AND JUST ACT LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED! LIKE YOU LEFT A DAY AGO!» I shouted. She rested in silence.
«YOU DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TELLING HIM, AND NOW HE IS DEAD!» I shouted infuriated.
«YOU THINK I'M SO STUPID TO THINK HE IS DEAD?!» she shouted back suddenly jumping on her feet and looking in my eyes. She was slightly taller. I gulped, my hands shaking and a cold sweat running down my spine.
«W-What do you mean?» I asked, trying to fake I didn't know.
«Oh, please don't act stupid, bullshit is a bad color on you Molly!» she said and I shivered. She approached me.
«You think I'm so stupid to think that you, Molly Hooper, the girl who is in love with him in forever -I blushed violently- just talks about his death freely like nothing happened at all?!» she said.
I rested in silence. She gave me one more glance before walking to the library and taking the cup of tea that she left there earlier.
«I'm not stupid, you should get it by now.» she told me before taking a sip of her tea.
I looked around, ashamed and embarrassed. «So why did you come to me?» I then asked her, slightly awkwardly.
Her expression softened «Just passing by. Decided to pay you a little visit. Hope you don't mind.» she said walking around with one hand behind her back holding the tea in the other. She reminded me of Sherlock.
«I wanted to go to Mycroft but, you know... Wanted to spare all the questions.» she said. I chuckled.
«Yeah, you've always been the only person the both of them weren't able to deduce.» I said, with a smile.
She smirked, looking out of the window. We stayed in silence for a bit, in which I returned sitting down.
«Congratulations with the engagement.» she said, making me automatically look at my ring.
«Oh, Thank you.» I said smiling. She returned facing me.
«How long he've been gone?» she asked serious.
I stared at her confused. «Who?»
She rolled her eyes sighing in exasperation «Sherlock, of course. I don't really care of your fiancée, if it's that what bothers you.» she said.
I slightly blushed, then threw a look at the calendar. «Almost 3 years now.» I said.
She pursed her lips, glancing down at her cup. «How's John?» she then asked me and I noticed a lot of sadness in her eyes.
I shrugged «I dunno. I heard somewhere he has a new girlfriend.» I said and she chilled returning to look out of the window.
«Hope this is good the good time.» I said, chuckling.
«He'll kill Sherly so much once he'll return.» she said, glancing out at London behind the curtain.
I looked at her intensively. She looked sad, but I knew she wasn't. She found something precious and she was following it. Never letting go.
«Tell him I said hi.» she said. I nodded and smiled. «Surely will. He will be happy knowing you're okay. Come and visit him-»
«And also tell him I said farewell.» she sadly cut me off. I looked at her lost. What did she mean? Was she leaving? What happened in these 4 years?
«Where have you been?» I then asked her, almost whispering. She looked at me over her shoulder.
«It's a long story.» she said.
«I have time.» I snapped.
«No you don't.» I stared at her confused. «You have the doctor's appointment in a half an hour and it will take you 20 minutes at least to get there. So I suggest you to go now.» she said, glancing at the clock.
I jumped up from my place «Shit, true.» I said and ran into my bedroom, to change.
As I finished I came back in the leaving room. I saw Lizzie sitting on the floor and reading a book.
«How'd you know about the appointment anyway?» I asked trying my scarf around my neck.
She looked up at me and then back at the book. «Oh, just noticed that in your agenda, on the library.» she said. «And your mother will call at 3 o'clock to tell you about the party they are making for your uncle.»
«How can you know this?» I asked.
She shrugged «I lived with Sherly. Picked up a bit of things.» she said turning the book to another page.
I nodded. I always loved Lizzie's story. She came to Sherlock when she was 15 to ask him if he could deduce her something about her life, because she didn't know anything. At first Sherlock didn't even glance at her and gave her an exasperated sigh but then, as he looked up, he stared at her. He wasn't able to deduce a thing.
In the future years they tried to discover something about her past together and became friends. She was like a sister to him, at least that was what I thought. I saw how he cared for her.
«Anyway, I'm going out. You want something to eat?» I asked.
«Oh, no thanks but I'm pretty fine. Fish fingers and custard are pretty difficult to digest.» she said.
«I don't even want to ask.» I said. She chuckled, still looking down at the book.
I stared at her for a second. «Are you going to stay?» I asked her, sadly.
She looked up, her lips pursed. «No, don't think so. Perhaps. But perhaps not. I have a feeling that I won't be able to.» she said, sitting legs crossed. «I found my path, Molly. And even for all the gold of this planet I won't give it away.»
I nodded.
«Good bye then?» I asked.
She smiled. «Later, Molly Hooper. No good byes with me.»
I smiled back. She then stood up, approached me and hugged me.
«Have a good life, Molly. Follow your path.» she said. I nodded. «Same for you.» I said.
Then we pulled away. I smiled once more, then left.
This was the first part of the story of Elizabeth Smith. And that was how that part ended.
~~~~

Elizabeth's pov:

«Imagine me and you. I do. I think about you day and night. It's only right. To think about the girl you love. And hold you tight.» I sang.

How ironic, is it?

I tied my hair into a ponytail and now walked around Molly's flat while looking through her stuff (photos, books).«So happy together.» I sang as walked down the hallway.

I find the door in her bedroom and, of course, decided to take a look.

It was very clean, the light from the window illuminated the whole room and it gave it some sort of warming too. It had lightly gray walls, with many posters stuck on it. Since stuff, of course.

«If I should call you up, invest a dime.» I sang, pacing in the room.

«And you say you belong to me and ease my mind.» I found two square glasses and, of course, placed them on.

«Imagine how the world could be, so very fine.»

I opened the closet where she usually kept clothes she wanted to throw out. I always picked up a few things here when I was little. Like old colorful socks so I could make some decorations for Christmas for my room at the orphanage. Weird is it?

«So happy together.» I started looking through the stuff. Suddenly a leather jacket coughed my eye. With no hesitation I put it on, rolling up the sleeves a bit.

I turned around in a really Elvis-Presley way then grabbing a hairbrush and using it as a microphone.

«I can't see me lovin' nobody but you. For all my life.» I sang, jumping out the room and dancing in the hallway.

«When you're with me, baby the skies'll be blue.» I sang grabbing a baseball cap and placing it on my head.

«For all my life!» I sang. Suddenly my performance was interrupted. Someone knocked on the door. I spun around frowning. Who might it be? Molly doesn't have a lot of friends...

I placed the hairbrush on the couch and walked to the door, still humming 'Happy Together' by Turtles. Who calls themselves Turtles anyway?

«Yes?» I said finally opening the door. I froze. My jaw dropped. My heart stopped. My eyes open wild.

«Well, this should be interesting.» I said mainly to myself.

«Um, okay, hello, I just wanted to ask you something-» he said then noticing my expression. The man stared at me «Wow. I don't usually make this impression on people.» he said sarcastically.

«You just did.» I said with a bit of hesitation. Still couldn't believe he was standing in front of me.

He raised a brow.

«I'm the Doctor, what's your name?» he questioned, putting his hands in his leather jacket, his piercing blue eyes staring at me. Wow. He was so... Different. Well, then I guess it's the War's fault.

«I'm-» I stopped. Was I supposed to say my real name? Or would that change things in the future? The Doctor, the 11th, told me I would have to lie. Was I supposed to lie now?

He looked at me waiting for an answer.

I gulped. Oh, I would regret this so much in the future. Then sighed.

«Melody.» I said...
