(This is the first time I've added a sound, but I had to. A lovely reader named Kaia wrote a song based on this very book and she sent me the link! So go check her out! She's amazing! Thank you so much love. It means the world to me. Enjoy The Dark Angel.)

The clouds rolled in and brought in an eerie calm. Michael held his esiasch in his arms and felt the last string snap inside him. Pure rage boiled through his blood and his hands ignited into flames. Instead of a soothing blue, they were fiery red with black licking at the base. He set Luke down on the soft grass and stood, flames growing. Skylar cackled from behind him and urged him to snap. "I'm so glad that pathetic little angel is gone!" Michael growled and spun around, throwing his fire square into Skylar's chest, throwing him backwards. "You killed my best friend!" He threw another ball of fire, hitting Skylar's shoulder. "You die next!" Michael screamed and kept aiming his fire at Skylar.

You struggled against Calum's arms and felt the tears stream down your cheeks. This was real. Luke was dead. Your heart shattered into a million pieces, seeing him crumpled on the ground. "Y/N. Stop struggling." Calum whispered in your ear, making you struggle even more. "Let me go you coward! After everything he did for you! You just watched him die!" You cried and felt weak. Calum held you up and loosened his grip a bit. "Y/N shut up." He hissed in your ear as Ashton strolled over towards you.

"Now Y/N. You see what I've had to come to? I had to kill one of your loved ones. And for what? Your freedom? What's more important now?" He asked, placing his fingers on your cheek. "It's not worth it. Stop fighting. Give in and let your friends live."You spit in Ashton's face and stood your ground. "You're going to be dead by the end of the night." You threatened and Ashton laughed. "I love how optimistic you are! Especially after Luke died! It's a great quality. I'd love to have it." He spoke, running his fingers down your neck. "Calum let her go. I'll take care of her."

Calum's arms released you, only for you to be captured in Ashton's. His grip was so tight, you saw spots blurring your vision. "Calum is going to go take care of your loved ones one by one. I thought you'd like to have a front row seat." He purred, nuzzling your hair. "Calum enjoy. I know you've wanted this." Calum just nodded and picked up a longsword with a barbed blade. It would impale and set off barbs in the skin. It was one of the most deadly weapons in the dimension. "Who do you think he'll go for first? Alessa? Or will he go straight for Michael?" Ashton cooed. "Go to hell." You said through your teeth and made him laugh.

Michael

I yanked Skylar to his feet and pressed my palm to his chest, sending flames through his skin. He chuckled and looked into my eyes."You really think you can do that much damage? Nothing will ever numb the pain Michael. Embrace it. Luke is dead. He's never coming back." I snarled and snapped his right arm with my shaking hands. He howled in pain and cackled. "Your heart is just as black as mine."

"Not quite." A voice came from behind Skylar before a blade was shoved through Skylar's chest. It was covered in barbs and I heard them set off in his chest. He gurgled and went slump in my arms. I dropped him to the ground and looked into the face of Calum. He ripped the blade back out and stabbed Skylar over and over, screaming. "You son of a bitch! I've had it with you! Die!" I grabbed Calum's wrists and stopped him, making him look at me."Calum. He's dead."

Alessa

"You seen Luke?" Kyanna asked, slicing through an enemy with her arrow. "No. I haven't." I was getting worried. Normally he'd be coming to check on us and help. But he hasn't been back in a while."I'll go look. Do you need any help?" I offered while stabbing an angel in the back. "I got this. This is my time to shine." Kyanna said with a grin.

I flew across the field, looking for any sign of burgundy wings. I couldn't see anything from this far away. I landed back on the ground and fought my way to the front of the battle, dodging attacks. Damn it Luke. Where are you?

Then I saw him.

I ran over and fell to my knees. No. No. This couldn't be happening."Luke!" I pulled him close and listened for a heartbeat. He was so still and cold. No pulse. No life. Sobs wracked through my body as I held the boy I was in love with. "Luke I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry!"

Luke

"Everyone I'd like you to welcome our newest addition, Luke. Treat him well." Ashton said, pushing Luke towards the other dark angels. They stared at the scrawny blonde and thought of ways to make him suffer. Then a purple winged angel with dark hair stepped forward."I'm Calum. I'll show you around."

Luke's eyes sparkled when he looked at Alessa. The way she seemed to only care for him made his heart squeeze. She could always make him smile.

Meeting Michael was definitely a crucial part in Luke's life. He would eventually be his best friend and training partner. He could tell Michael anything. From losing Jade to his rejection of being a dark angel.

"Holy hell!" Luke screamed, meeting Y/N for the first time in a very unintentional way. He had accidentally grabbed her neon green bra while he was trying to find Michael's shirt. He barely got to look at her, but one glance had stopped his heart. Something about her had got him involved. He'd fall in love with her. He'd do anything for her. He'd make her laugh. He'd make her worry. He'd make her smile. He'd kiss her softly. He'd call her sweet things. He'd let his guard down for the first time in eighteen years. He would die for her.

De Voaan would be where his soul would find himself again.

Y/N

Ashton snarled and pushed you to the ground after seeing what Calum had done. He spread his wings and barreled towards Michael and Calum in a rage that could be felt for miles.

You pulled yourself off the ground and ran to Luke's body, Alessa crying next to him. He was covered in blood and his wings had disappeared. He looked like just a boy. A boy that didn't deserve to die.

You wept for him and brushed your fingers over his forearm. The touch had sent a spark up your arm and your vision blurred. Your thoughts were being replaced by pictures of Luke. Ones that he was planting into your head.

His body was dead. His soul was still intact. In De Vaoan.
