I want this chapter to be as relatable as possible. I don't want this to just be a fanfic where everything is fake and unrealistic. I want me and other people to be able to relate to the events in this fanfic.

I hope you guys understand some of the things in this chapter.

Marcy stared into the mirror at her reflection. She, Sasha, and Anne were all going out to eat together. And Sasha and Anne were both planning on wearing something nice, Marcy didn't want to be the only one wearing something boring.

Marcy feels a little insecure about wearing such outfits since all she wears is hoodies and skirts. She didn't want any outfits she wore to make her insecurities visible. She looked down at the emerald green dress and she hated it.Β She can't help but pick apart every single flaw she sees and just feels worse the longer she stands in front of the mirror. Don't get me wrong, the dress was beautiful. But Marcy just felt like it lost its beauty once she put it on.Β

This is how it looked.

Pretty right?

It just didn't look good on Marcy.

'Ew, I look disgusting. I hate the way I look. I don't even know how Anne and Sasha could be bothered with me. Both of them are beautiful, they catch everyone's eye. But me? I'm just an embarrassment to them. I hate everything about myself. I hate how I'm skinny but I have a chubby baby belly. I hate having my cheeks pinched. I hate when people call me baby face. I don't want chubby cheeks, I want a nice slim face and sharp jawline like Sasha and Anne, I can't help but envy them a bit for it. Normally, if i talked to my father about this kind of stuff he'd say something like,Β you're 13, you don't need to worry about how you look right now. And if i spoke to my mother about it, she'd say something like, don't worry about what other people think, or you're beautiful, don't let anyone tell you different.'

'Telling me I'm pretty isn't gong to magically make all my insecurities go away.'

'And it's not about what other people think, it's about what I think.'

Marcy's thoughts were interrupted when she heard a loud ring coming from her phone. She quickly ran over to her phone to answer the call she was getting. Once she answered the call, she was met with loud yelling in her ear.

"Marbles hurry! We've been waiting for about ten minutes at the restaurant!" Anne shouted on the other side of the line.

"WEH! i'm so sorry guys! I didn't even realize that I kept you waiting for that long!" Marcy responded.

"I'll be there in a few!"Β

Marcy then hung up the phone and grabbed a light green flower headband and placed it on top of her head. She then grabbed her purse and ran out of her room. Once she got downstairs she ran out of the front door and got into the cab waiting outside for her.

...

..

.

Once she arrived in front of the restaurant, she got out of the car and looked up to see Sasha and Anne standing next to each other with grins on their faces while waving. Sasha was wearing a pretty red cocktail dress with shoulder-less sleeves. And Anne was wearing a light blue dress with short sleeves that went to her shoulders. Sasha had her hair curled. It was a half up half down hairstyle with flowers in it. Anne had her hair to the side with a small clip holding the big strands of hair from falling.

What Sasha's dress looked like

Really pretty....

What Sasha's hair looked like

What Anne's dress looked like

How Anne's hair looked

They both look gorgeous right?

Also, I know what you're thinking. "Isn't that a little too extra for three thirteen year olds just going on a date to a fancy restaurant?" Yes, of course it's extra. This is the calamity trio we're talking about.

Iconic traumatized teenagers.

Marcy walked up to the two girls with a grin on her face. She noticed that the two were holding hands. Something was weird though, Marcy didn't feel heartbroken or jealous. She was actually happy even though she loved the both of them. If she loved them then why would it be a problem if they both loved each other? Maybe they liked her too, maybe she has a chance. Marcy found herself staring in amazement at the two girls dresses. '

God they look pretty, i wish I could look like that. Now that I see them I feel a little embarrassed at the dress I put on. Sasha looks so pretty in that dress. Her toned muscles are visible. The way her hips sway in that dress. Anne also looks gorgeous, she has weak nerd arms like me, but she just makes it look so pretty. I know this might sound a little perverted but it isn't. It's messed up that I'm thinking like this at thirteen, I'm still young. I'm not supposed to be worried about this stuff. I don't expect to look like a model with a perfect body in her mid 20s, I'm still young so It's normal for me to look like this, but I can't help but dislike certain things about myself.'

Marcy noticed that she was daydreaming so she shook her head and took both of their hands in hers. The three of them walked into the restaurant and sat at a clean table. Anne and Sasha sat on one site of the table, Marcy sat on the opposite side, which meant she sat alone. She wanted to make space for the two of them, she also didn't want to be squished in between the ones she loved most.

She didn't feel like dealing with that gay panic.

Her scar was also kind of visible. It was big, so big to the point where you could kinda see a bit of the scar on her collarbone. Of course the dress didn't show much of her chest, it only went up to her collarbone, and the scar was still a bit visible there. Since the events of "True Colors", Marcy has a hole in her chest due to Andrias stabbing her. It has healed during The Core's occupation of her body, but the wound is still there. 'My scar is visible, oh god. Can they see it? What do they think of it? Do they think of it the way I think of it?'

Anne looked up from her phone to see if the waiters were getting ready to deliver their food only to be met with a nervous looking Marcy.Β

She noticed Marcy glancing up and down her chest and she opened her mouth to say something. "Hey, It's okay Marbles. No need to feel any type of shame, scars show how hard we've fought."

Marcy immediately calmed down and felt more comfortable at the girls words.

Sasha glared at the both of them with a smile on her face. "Ah, we love a comforting Anne."

Marcy chuckled and Anne felt a dark red blush forming on her face. Anne then cleared her throat. "Ehem, anyways. What's with the sudden idea of going out to eat? Have you planned this before?"Β

Sasha stared at Anne in confusion. "Have I planned this before? I mean, I did promise I'd take you and Marcy out somewhere, you don't remember?"

Anne gave Sasha a look of confusion also as she tried to jog her own memories.Β

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

Sasha then walked up to Anne and took hold of both of Anne's hands as an assuring grin crept up on her face. "We'll get out of here i promise, and once we wake up I'll take you and Marcy out somewhere."

Sasha brought her hand up to Anne's face and gently wiped the tears away with her thumb, terribly gently. A blush quickly shot up to Anne's cheeks as she opened her mouth to speak. "I-I guess you're right, we'll get out of here soon, I just know It."

...

...

...

...

Anne felt a heat growing on her whole face.

"Ah, it seems I finally jogged your memory." Sasha smirked.

Marcy raised an eyebrow and looked at them both in confusion. "Huh? What are you guys talking about? Did anything happen?"

"Nothing important." Anne responded, still red in the face.

The awkwardness in the air was finally gone when the waiter arrived at they're table with the food that they had ordered.

"Ahh, thank you very much. Don't worry ladies, I'll pay for it." She then reached into her wallet and pulled out some money and gave it to the waiter.

"Huh? Sasha, we aren't going to let you pay for all this food, we understand your rich but you can't just waste your money on us like it's nothing! Don't you see how much this food costs!? It's expensive!" Anne complained.

"Calm down pretty face, I took this from my dads wallet, it isn't even my money. Not like he needs it anyways, he just wastes it on superman action figure underwear." Sasha facepalmed.

Anne's facial expression softened at the blonde's words. "Oh."

She then placed the money into the hands of the waiter. "Here's a tip."

The girls then noticed a bright pink blushed that was on the waiters cheeks. She was young, she looked about 13-14. And she was wearing a hat with an apron.Β

"H-hehe, thank you. You're really pretty by the way, can I get your name?" The waiter asked.

"Sasha, nice to meet you." She said, holding her hand out for a handshake.

The waiter took hold of Sasha's hand and shook it in return, her face getting even more red than before. Anne was side eyeing them while scowling, sipping from the straw in the soda she had ordered. Meanwhile, Marcy felt like her face was on fire. She was beyond pissed, seeing a complete stranger hitting on the one she loved like that? It made her wish that the girl would drop dead right there and then.

"Ah, beautiful name, just like you. Say, could we maybe hang out sometime? You know...get to know each other? And could I get your number also? Maybe when we hang out we could go to a dinner just like this one while wearing pretty dresses." The waiter offered.

Sasha then caught onto what was going on and let out a nervous laugh. "H-Hehe, sorry. My phone's currently broken and my parents are making me wait a few months until they get me a new one so it would really make no sense for you to get my number if you wouldn't even have a number to call." Sasha lied.

"Awh! That's a bummer, I was really looking forward to hanging out and getting to know you m-" The girl pouted, soon being interrupted by a certain black haired girl.

"You know Sash, maybe soon all of us three together could have another date like this. Maybe a movie theater, a pride parade, a trip to a cabin, or maybe we could even stay home and watch movies with snacks and blankets! And when we're about to fall asleep, we could...you know, cuddle." Marcy fake smiled, the waiters face getting more and more red the more words came out of Marcy's mouth.

The waiter then fled away from their table, red in the face. She looked pretty angry, but eh, who cares. Serves her right for trying to hit on her Sasha.

"Dang Marce, if I were her in this situation, I would have been embarrassed for life." Sasha deadpanned.

"Same, I didn't think sweet little Marcy could do something that rude." Anne chuckled.

"Oh well, sucks for her. At least I got her off of your tail Sasha." Marcy rolled her eyes.

"Eh, I can't say I don't agree with you on that. That situation was beginning to become very awkward for me and everyone at this table." Sasha admitted.

Anne let out a relieved sigh and stood up from her seat. "I'm going to go to the bathroom real quick. I'll be back in a few."

"You'd better come back alive Boonchuy! I swear to frog you'd better!" Sasha joked.Β

Anne let out a chuckle as she walked into the women's bathroom. Marcy stood up from her seat also. "I think I also need to go to the restroom."

"Okay." Sasha chuckled as Marcy walked her way to the restroom.

Marcy opened up the door and was met with Anne staring in the mirror at her reflection while fixing her eyeliner. "Hey there Anne." Marcy greeted.

"Hey Marcy, are you doing okay? Why the long face? Is there something going on?" Anne questioned.

"Hmm, I've just been lacking my confidence lately. Sasha has told me that she sees me as the complete opposite of the way I see myself and I can't lie, It boosted my self esteem, It helped. But my intrusive thoughts are bringing me down again." Marcy confessed.

Anne had shot her a look that she didn't quite understand. It was a mix of "Why would you ever think that of yourself?" and "Fuck those intrusive thoughts."

When Anne was about to say something, she heard a voice come from behind her at the bathroom door entrance.Β

"You guys really left me alone at that table!? I'm offended. I had to plan my escape before the waiter could try to hit on me again!" Sasha complained, jokingly.

"Also I heard what you said Marcy. Why do you always put yourself down so much? I don't see what you see, nobody does. Why be so negative? Who wouldn't want someone like you?" Sasha interrogated.Β

Marcy had no explanation, she just stood there, in silence.Β

"You're the most extraordinary girl Marcy. As clear as a musical note, and as sincere as a melody. You're the music that's been playing inside my head since the first day we met." Anne chimed in.Β

"Turn around Marcy, I want you to be able toΒ  see what everyone else sees." Sasha demanded.

Marcy turned around to look at her reflection and was shocked by what she saw. Her tan skin was glowing, and her big bug-eyes and her long thick and curled lashes stood out so much. Her black short hair looked like soft silk, the emerald green dress she was wearing completed her whole look, and the light green flower headband made her look gorgeous. Marcy was completely out of things to say.

She never thought she could look so beautiful.

Her eyes focus back on Anne and Sasha. She feels a familiar heat going up to her face. Anne approached her and pulled her into a hug. Sasha did the same thing. "You're so pretty Marce." Sasha whispered.

Those few words made Marcy's heart melt.Β

Marcy quickly ran out of the bathroom and back to the table they were sitting at.Β

No gay panic today Marcy!

Marcy sat at the table with her head down, red in the face as Sasha and Anne walked out of the bathroom and approached her chuckling. "Hahaha, If four words is what gets you so flustered then maybe I'll do that more often." Sasha teased.

"I'm not flustered! And what you said has no impact on me!" Marcy shouted.

"Hahahah." Anne laughed.

...

..

.

Once the girls finished eating they headed out of the restaurant and left the dishes on the table to the waiters to pick up. All three of them took a cab that Sasha had called.Β

Not gonna lie, the car ride was very squished. But it was also comfortable. Marcy enjoyed the feeling of her two friends leaning on her shoulder, or teasing her, or placing a kiss onto her cheek every once in a while to make her flustered. She loved having at least one of them take hold of her hand and caress it with her thumb.

When Marcy got home, she showered and changed out of her emerald green dress. She flopped down onto her bed and attempted to fall asleep, but it was extremely difficult to. It was about 3am and Marcy couldn't fall asleep due to her thinking about Anne and Sasha. Marcy was daydreaming until she heard a notification come from her phone. She sat up on her bed and grabbed her phone to see who had texted her. It was the group chat.

Muscledgoddess: Yo yall up?

One-Shoed-Anne: Yeah.

Me: Yeah, I can't sleep at all, I've been thinking about some things.

Muscledgoddess: I can't sleep either, that's why I texted here. Say, I was wondering, tomorrow could you send us a picture of your pretty face when you just wake up? And could you also send us a mirror picture of you in that dress? You looked really pretty in it today:)

Muscledgoddess: Those two requests are optional by the way.

Muscledgoddess: Say no if you want, I just wanted to give it a shot:)

Me: Sure, I don't see why not.

Muscledgoddess: YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

One-Shoed-Anne: Yay:D

Me: You guys seem way too excited over two pictures, I can't take you two seriously, I'm going to bed.

One-Shoed-Anne: Oki:D

Muscledgoddess: Okay, get your rest pretty face:)

Me: Goodnight guys:)

...

Marcy shut off her phone and snuggled into her blanket. She was glad that she didn't have to feel uncomfortable doing certain things. She was glad that she could help her friends in any way possible. She was glad that Anne finally loved herself enough to stop letting people walk all over her. She was glad that Sasha changed, she was glad that Sasha changed for the better. She was glad that Anne found a home where a completely different species took her in as their own. She was glad that they were happy. She was glad that they went to amphibia. Amphibia changed them, they became the best versions of themselves. Shes glad that they boosted her confidence.

Marcy didn't have to go to bed feeling like an ugly monster.

She didn't feel anymore envy over her friends.

She didn't feel like she had to hide certain things from her friends.

She didn't feel like she had to be like someone else to be considered pretty.

This time..

Marcy actually felt... Beautiful.
