"The train will stop at the next station, Redhill." The announcement chimed.
Jungwon looked up from his phone, looking around he noticed that the train was completely empty, only containing him and another stranger, just the two of them. What can they expect? It's the last train and coincidentally, they were both heading to the same station.
The man had a palpable and dull aura which surrounded him, to Jungwon's distress, they both made eye contact though his face was not very visible.
Jungwon gulped and awkwardly looked away. Struggling to breathe through the intoxicating silence, Jungwon fixed his cardigan. Thankfully, the announcement chimed, breaking the silence between the both of them.
"The train will stop at this station, Redhill." The man immediately stood up, dropping his camera, he stood before the doors.
The doors opened, Jungwon hurriedly grabbed the camera and stepped onto the platform, hoping that the man would still be there.
"Sir!" He called out, but the man didn't seem to hear him and continued walking, the man sped walked across the platform to the escalator.
"Sir..." Jungwon mumbled, holding the camera, he sighed.
People are rushing nowadays.
━━
Jungwon ruffled his hair with a towel, sitting on the bed. He placed the towel down, hands traveling to the camera.
Holding the camera, he scrutinized it. He muttered, "Its old."
Curiosity kills the cat, but I'm not going to be killed that easily.
He turned the camera on, scrolling through it's gallery. A girl appeared, looking out of the window, "Heights of Utopia?" The background had a skyscraper, time and date stated: 1330, March 19, 2021.
Jungwon nodded, knowing that the picture was taken not long ago, in the building opposite the skyscraper, "Empire States of Republic."
He scrolled more, it was an image of the both the girl and the man from before together, the same date as the image earlier but it was a minute later.
They both seem like a cute couple, holding each other's hands in the next image.
"Jungwon?" The door knock startled him, immediately placing the camera down back onto the desk.
"Y-yes?" He stammered, "Are you busy?" His mother's voice trailed.
"No."
"Come help me out with the dishes."
"I'll be out in a minute." Jungwon hid the camera into his bag, "I'll return it tomorrow." He whispered.
—
He walked along the streets towards the building.
He entered the building into find the fancy spacious lobby which was furnished luxuriously.
Walking towards the receptionist, he took out the camera, "Good Afternoon, I'm here to return someone's camera?" He placed it onto the counter
The receptionist looked up, "And who is it for?" Jungwon scratched his neck, "Uh, it's this guy who is really tall, he wore a black turtle neck yesterday, with a blazer- oh that guy." The receptionist looked over to where Jungwon was looking.
"Good Afternoon, sir." The receptionist bowed as Jungwon glanced back and forth between the receptionist and the so-called sir.
The man walked towards them both with another person following behind him.
Woah, he's hot now that I see him closely.
"What's the problem here?" The man's eyes travelled to the counter, then to Jungwon.
Jungwon quickly bowed, "This is the camera you dropped, sir." Jungwon stepped back, allowing the man to view it.
"Can I have a word with you?" Jungwon nodded, following the man after he had took the camera.
━━
They both ended up in a cafe, Jungwon awkwardly took a sip of the mocha he had ordered.
The man looked at his phone and glanced at Jungwon.
"I apologize for this. I'm thankful that you've found the camera that I've dropped yesterday, it contained important information inside." Jungwon laughed, "It's alright, sir."
"I'm Lee Heesung, CEO of the company that we were previously at."
"Ah, nice to meet you! I'm Yang Jungwon."
He's so adorable with that bubbly personality.Heesung thought.
"What would you like in return of the camera?" Jungwon shook his head, "It's alright, I don't want to bother you."
Heesung glared, "I insist."
"Oh..." He scratched his head.
Heesung stared at his phone again, "May I have your number?" Jungwon tilted his head, "Oh, sure!" Heesung handed his phone to Jungwon.
Jungwon entered his number and returned the phone to it's owner, "I apologize but I have a meeting, I'll text you later." Heesung stood up and left with no hesitation.
Jungwon nodded, emptying his cup.
━━
Unknown:Hey, it's Heesung.
Jungwon:Hi sir! (●’◡’●)ノ
Heehee:I was wondering if you are free tomorrow.
Jungwon:Definitely! I'm on a holiday right now.Why?
Heehee:I wanted to treat you for a simple meal.
Jungwon:In return of the camera? Sure.
Heehee:Great, I've already made a reservation, 26 March 6.30pm. I'll pick you up at 6. What's your address?
Jungwon:Already? Uh, [redacted]
Heehee:Dress your finest, it'll be a date.
Jungwon:Alright.
━━
Jungwon rolled around in his bed, "I didn't expect it to be a date!" He whined, flustered as he felt butterflies in his stomach.
He rubbed his belly, "What are you?" He questioned as he moaned in frustration.
"Don't be such a sweetheart." He kicked his legs, covering his face with the pillow.
━━
The doorbell rung, Jungwon grabbed his phone and rushed to the door, it opened to reveal Heesung.
"Hey..." Jungwon gulped as he fixed his jeans.
"Let's go shall we?" He offered his hand yo have Jungwon take it.
Jungwon nodded and locked the door before exiting.
...
Jungwon blushed as Heesung opened the car door for him.
"Why are you going all out to impress me?"
"Who said I was?" Jungwon mentally punched himself.
"Just kidding. You're right, I was trying to impress you. Anyway, it would be quite a long ride, so feel free to have a pillow to hug or something." Jungwon nodded as he took the pillow that Heesung held.
━━
Heesung pushed the chair in for Jungwon before walking to his seat. "Do you like this place?" Jungwon hesitantly nodded, looking down.
"Why this place though?" Heesung shrugged, "First impression matters." Heesung smiled, placing his hands into his pockets.
Jungwon looked through the menu, "It's all expensive." Jungwon's eyebrows furrowed.
"It's on me." Heesung assured, "The camera would cost more than this dinner." Heesung continued.
"What do you want?" Heesung questioned, focussing on Jungwon.
"Just a mushroom soup." Jungwon smiled. Heesung tilted his head, "I have a small appetite. Really." Heesung nodded, calling a waitress.
"Can we have a mushroom soup, Foie gras and a bottle of wine?" The waitress nodded and walked away.
Why is he doing this?
Jungwon can't help but to profusely sweat. "Are you sure?" Jungwon whispered only to have Heesung nodding, "It's fine, don't worry." Heesung removed his hands from his pockets and held Jungwon's hands.
"You need not have to worry." He reassured, Jungwon awkwardly smiled, staring into Heesung's eyes.
━━
Heesung leaned against the wall as he stared at Jungwon playing with the arcade machine.
It all started with "Oh you have an arcade machine in your house? Can I go?"
Heesung laughed as he saw Jungwon throw a fit over the loss. "Ah, I was so close." Jungwon frowned.
"Is this rigged?" Jungwon turned to face Heesung, "Nope, just try harder." Jungwon groaned, "I'll stop playing, I'm tired." Jungwon sat onto the couch.
Jungwon whipped out his phone, "What do you want to do now?" Heesung asked, sitting next to him.
"I want to go home and sleep."
"It's already late, do you want to stay over?" Jungwon shrugged, "Do you mind?" Heesung shook his head, "I have a guest room." Jungwon nodded, "I'll stay over then." Jungwon smiled, "I'll leave right after I wake up tomorrow, I don't want to trouble you." Heesung stood up, "You should take a shower first, I'll give you the clothes later." Jungwon nodded.
Mistake: Heeseung's name
