"Ahhhhh!!!! Pete, you're a jerk! A scumbag! Dirt face! A shvt bag! An asshole! I hate you!!!!!"
I was breathless after I was done screaming my heart out.
I was at the balcony in my supposed room after the jerk dismissed me from his home office earlier after telling me that I had to stay with him whether I like it or not.
"You're staying with me Kao. And this isn't an invite."
I gaped at him not knowing how to react.
"Now off you go. I need to work so I can provide for you. See you at lunch."
I was out the door before I could even react violently but I was too late, the jerk had already locked his door from the inside.
Argh!
I felt the urge to scream again after I remembered what just happened.
The hell he just treats me like a kid!
I grabbed at the railings and was about to yell insults for the asshole when I noticed the oldest lady helper by the pool tending of the flowers.
She smiled when she saw me.
"I heard sweets make you feel better. Do you want to have some? We have home made ice cream."
She offered and I hated how I suddenly felt embarrassed.
"No, it's okay, I'm good. Thanks."
She nodded.
"But if you change your mind, I'll be here until the sun gets unbearable and then I'll be at the kitchen, just look for me alright?"
I smiled and nodded at her before I excused myself and retreated inside my room.
"Pete is a jerk!"
I said matter of factly as I laid face down on my bed and poured out some more insults and profanities on the pillow for another round before I thought of something.
I went out of my room and looked around the second floor where I learned that had three more rooms.
The one I'm staying was beside another guest room and on the other side was Pete's room and his home office.
He would not give me a clue where I was and his staff, even Kaleb wouldn't tell me too, so I should find it out myself.
I tried on the next room and was glad that it was open.
Nothing really surprising in particular.
It looked exactly the same as the room I'm staying.
Only, it obviously looked unoccupied for a long time that I doubted if I could find anything in there that would help me find out where we were.
The GPS on my beat up phone also proved to be of no use as it gave me nothing when I tried turning it on last night after the cake incident and earlier before I decided to go out and roam around.
At first, I thought it was my phone and my internet connection that had a problem but I tried googling in Pete's name but it instantly yielded thousands of results but I did not waste my time checking the information out.
Why would I!?!
I resisted the urge to do so over the last five years, why would I give in now!?!
I gave the room one more sweep before I went out.
I stood by the quiet hallway and stared at the first door that was Pete's home office where I knew he was in at the moment.
So his bedroom is definitely deserted.
Should I go there!?!
I bit on my lower lip.
No.
I didn't need to be deeper into the dragon's lair.
That would just be too crazy considering the plan was actually to escape from there.
I heaved a sigh.
If I wanted to successfully run away, I needed a good plan.
I ended up deciding on going back to my room to device a plan for my escape there.
It should be easier now that my head is clearer.
I was pacing back and forth trying to decide on what to do first when chatters from outside took me out of me reverie.
I walked towards the balcony to check down below and I saw the two underlings helping the older lady transfer huge pots of plants from one place to another as girl number one was helping out with planting new saplings.
If the four of them were there together, there should be two more somewhere in the house with the jerk master in his home office and Kaleb being in the house as well, that means I have eight people to watch out for.
Plus the other guy loves watching television series-that I know.
I just have to find out their schedule now and survey the place for the nooks and routes I can escape from.
I nodded and and smiled at myself.
Just because Pete wanted me here doesn't mean I have to stay.
Who is he to decided for me anyway!?!
Right.
I needed to make a move now.
I checked the clock on the bedside table and saw that it was ten thirty five.
I had no idea what time they take their lunch in this household but I'm sure it wouldn't be any time soon, and so I went out of my room and down to the ground floor.
Given I was only sent out of his study after that talk I had with him that obviously only benefited his bloated ego, I supposed I was allowed to go about the house and not just confined myself in my room.
And so I would do just that and I'll make sure it would be to my own advantage.
Let the escape plan begins now.
It was quite when I went to the living room.
I knew I said I just want to look around to look for clues as to where on earth I was at the moment and finally find possible exits for me to finally get the hell away from there but I just could not help but marvel about the place.
To think that it is owned by the same Pete I knew years ago was still a bit overwhelming for me.
I was curious, yes.
But the drive to finally be away from him was bigger and much pressing at the moment so that was what I was going to do.
And that's what I'm doing.
I casually move about and tried to check out the living room area.
There were two doors at the corner and I looked around before I checked it.
I opened the first door.
Based from what I saw, it was the game room.
I was never really into games and recreation and stuff given the life I had for the past five years but I suddenly had the urge to check out the enormous billiard table in the middle of the room.
If only not for the voices I heard getting nearer, I would have done so.
I closed the door and casually walked away from it and back into the center of the living room to wait for the voices to finally get inside the house but there was none.
I thought, the people were still busy outside and so I took it as a chance to get to the next door.
As precaution, I looked around again to see if the cost was clear before I tried on the next door and couldn't help myself to be in awe of what I discovered behind the closed door.
It was a home theater.
Even better looking that those commercial theaters I've had visited maybe around twice or thrice for the last five years.
If I was able to stop myself with the first room, I was not able to do so with this one that I found myself getting inside and running my hands on the couple rows of seats that looks exactly like those in theaters but a lot better and softer as I sat on one of it.
I even felt too small as I marveled on the big screen.
Wow!
This is crazy!
How can something like this be inside a house is beyond me.
I sat back and shook my head.
Still in awe of the grandeur before my eyes when I had to jolt and stood up quickly when I heard a very familiar and annoying voice.
"So. What do you want to watch!?!"
Pete was already in front of me with his jerk of a face.
"Nothing. I'm-I'm looking for the comfort room."
I lied.
How did he get here without me noticing!?!
"Yeah, and you thought it's a good thing to just sit there when you realized that this isn't the comfort room, yes?"
I narrowed my eyes at him.
He was annoying back then and apparently, more so now that he's got money the jerk!
"I'm going."
I said instead.
I didn't want to argue.
I still have an important thing to do.
"Not so fast!"
I had to stop when he held me by the arm to stop me.
"Don't touch me!"
I glared at him as I pulled my hand away and he raised both hands as if in surrender.
"Look, it's already lunch time, and I've asked the food to be brought here so, just tell me what you want to watch so we can play it while eating, alright?"
I made a face at the guy.
Look at him deciding for me.
Did he really think I can be bribed with food and movies!?!
Asshat!
"I didn't say I would have lunch with you. Much more be here and watch a movie with you."
I saw him shrugged before he walked to the nearest seat and sat uncaringly before he regarded me.
"Kao, no, is not an option really."
