Chapter 11

Joshua pov.

I have never thought that the biggest threat to our relationship was Mr. Eunkwang, my boss and our ceo but lately he has been a pain in the ass.

He keeps assigning me projects away from Dk and the only time we see each other is when we are going home, by the time we are home we are too exhausted to even message each other.

I always ask him why he's purposely keeping Dk away from me but he always replies that it was for the best and he's just doing his job.

That's why I was looking forward to the company trip. Usually it's pretty free for all, do anything you want. Just be on the place of meeting. I missed Dk in here most of the time but Now surprisingly we have the same lunch time. Only the first time since Monday, so we decided to go out. Like a little date.

"What are you writing?and why aren't you eating?" I asked Dk as I saw him doodling something in his napkin.

"I'll eat in a bit. A bunch of rules we are to abide during the trip." He said and I laughed.

"Didn't we establish already that I'm pretty bad at following rules when it comes to you? It's just too hard to resist your cuteness!" I said to him and pinch him on the cheek but he pushed me away to my chair. I sometimes forgot how strong he is.

"Yeah but this is important." He said and I looked at him. He was serious. No joke left I guess.

"It's not like you to care about these stuff..." I commented.

"We just need to okey? I just received a memo about people coming to the company trip and I noticed some names from hr. This is a little risky." He said and I smiled.

"From hr? You did research wow. Alright alright. I am supposed to be the uptight one in the relationship but you're already taking my place. What have you got so far?" I asked and he showed me his paper.

1. No Flirting2. No Kissing3. No being in the same room for more than 10 minutes unless necessary or with other people.4. No obvious glances5. We are both taken (with a girlfriend ofcourse).

I read it out loud and he nodded each time I finished a rule.

"Why does it have to be girlfriends?" I asked him.

"Why not? Even if just pretend?" He asked me back.

"You're weird and your rules are weird too. Friends can be in the same room alone for more than 10 minutes." I told him and he laughed.

"Exactly. Not boyfriends" he said and I looked at him weirdly.

"Are you doing this because of Hr or something else? You seem more serious than usual it's honestly freaking me out a little." I told him jokingly and he looked at me as if I caught him in a lie or something. Why is he so easy to read.

"Is there seriously another reason?" I asked him and he pouted.

"Yeah but you cannot laugh at me" he said and I got curious what he would say.

"Pinky promise" I said and he leaned in towards me to whisper.

"My friend from highschool is part of the Hr team. A huge homophobic. And I kinda did something to them that i don't think they would ever forget. Ever since then, they vowed to destroy my life or something." He said with air quotes

"And you're afraid that he's gonna take revenge on you using our relationship? What did you even do to him?" I asked.

"Oh it's a she. Her name's Wawa. And I didn't mean anything to hurt her or embarass her but I accidentaly embarassed her in front of the whole school. I didn't mean it though" He said as he avoided eye contact. Expose her?

"How?" I asked.

"It's not that big of a deal, I just happen to fall in front of her and accidentaly while carrying my food but I happen to be eating toekbokki and kimchi jiggae. It ruined her dress" he said shyly-

"That's it? Seems petty--" I commented but then he added.

"And it happened to be prom..." my jaw fell.

"During prom?!?!?" I asked him in shock. Why was he eating that in prom in the first place??

"And she kinda is my partner too. It was the school that choose the partners in prom, I had no control" he continued..

"Wow that's pretty rough. You kinda destroy her dress and experience as well." I commented then he smiled embarrasingly.

"Yeah but I didn't mean it. She also continued to torture me the whole highschool after that. Which is why I transferred. I offered to pay for the dress or bring a new one but she just threw the punch at me." He said and I laughed.

"I don't know how to react to this. But why homophobic?" I asked him.

"Oh she is. People in my school kept their relationship because of her. One of my friend is gay and she did everything to break them up. It's like she doesn't want anyone to be happy. I was not out in highschool yet but I definitely don't like her." He told me and he pouted.

"Okey okey relax. Let me see." I said as I grab his phone.

"Oh now I know why she gets away. She's got the face for it." I said nonchalantly and Dk looked at me as if I was crazy.

"What do you mean?" He asked with an angry tone.

"Hey relax. You're definitely cuter." I said as I poked his nose. He pretended not to like it but he can't control his expression.

"Okey so the rules?" He asked and I nodded.

"Alright alright." I said and then he suddenly hugged me. I have no idea why but he did it.

He was really digging into my neck. It feels different but good.

"What this for? And in public? How bold of you my love." I said with an english accent and he chuckled.

"I think I'll just miss you so much." He said and I smiled. He's starting to be honest about his feelings and not embarrassed about me. I think I'll die of happiness.

"The trip is not until tomorrow. Why are you being clingy already?" I asked but clearly enjoying his scent mixed in mine.

"Oh how cute. Honeymoon stage? The touching and little kisses. Oh how I miss that..." A very familiar person behind me said which caused Dk to let go immediately. Of course it was my brother.

"We still do that babe." Cheol said behind me too.

"Oh, you guys are here? Wanna go sit with us?" Dk asked.

"Sure." he said immediately without thinking.

"So.. where are you guys going?" Jeonghan asked.

"It's the boss' beach house. 3 day trip." I answered.

"Oh that's nice. I wanted to go to the beach too. Daddu let's come with them please? Can we come?" He suddenly asked me and I laughed thinking he was joking. But no he was not.

"Seriously?" I asked.

"Why not? It's a free country." He said and I just laughed at him. Where is he even going with this?

"I'm gonna have to ask the boss." I said honestly.

"Alright then it's settled!." He said. And we continued to chat for another 30 minutes until Dk got extremely uncomfortable when Jeonghan keeps explaining to him how things work in a relationship and it got extremely sexual right away. My brother really is not the shy type kind of friend. Even I was already giving up yet he continued.

After the lunch date, or should I say double date? We went back to the company to ask the ceo about my brother's situation. He just nodded and agreed right away.

"The more the merrier right?" He asked and I nodded.

This is gonna be an interesting trip.

The day of the trip.

"Is everyone here? I rented this bus for all of us. Find your seats and go on up already!" My boss said excitedly.

I looked at my watch to check. Dk is late. I looked around for a little while and before I could say that Dk was still not around, I saw two figures runninf towards us and it was Dk and Hoshi?

"Hoshi?" I asked and Hao chuckled a little beside me.

"You haven't notice he's late too?" He asked.

" i thought it was only Dk." I honestly said.

"God your such a smitten guy. You only think of Dk. Poor Hoshi, your friend for 5 years." Hao said and I laughed.

"Damn. Sorry guys. This guy really didn't know that today was the trip. I had to find him and wake him up." Dk said and I chuckled. What are they even doing together again.

"I thought it was tomorrow." Hoshi mumbled as we went inside the bus. Surprisingly the bus was very comfortable it had reclining seats and even comforters. It's very fancy props to our ceo for doing this extra thing.

"Hey have a sit next to me." I said as I tapped the seat beside me and motioned Dk to come with. He immediately smiled and then sat beside me. He told me he preferred the window seat so I stood up and took his seat.

Then Hoshi went behind us and then put his head above Dk just to whisper.

"I wish my boyfriend was here with me too. Then maybe I could accidentally fall asleep in his arms" He said while hugging himself like a crazy person.

"Hoshi shut up. Sorry for his foul mouth." Hao immediately place his hands on Hoshi's face and drag him back to his seat behind us.

"Sorry about him. He's just too outspoken like that" I said to Dk but he just shook his head.

"Nah I find him really funny he's like an older brother to me. " he said and I smiled.

"But he's right though. You can sleep in my shoulders and arms anytime you want." I said and winked at him. He just smiled and chuckled.

"Okey flirt away as much as you want now, because in the beach you're gonna get pretty much nothing from me." He whispered and I pouted.

"Come on, not even in secret?" I asked and he poked my nose.

"Especially not in secret. We're both gonna be professional and very focused on the team building, not about us alright?" He said and he pointed his finger on my face. He's so cute acting stern and angry.

"I'm gonna be miserable for the next 3 days then." I said and he laughed.

"Stop acting so dramatic. Here give me your hands." He said and then intertwined our hands together. I smiled and looked at him.

"We can hold hands until the beach. Enjoy it while it last." He said and I kissed the back of his hands. Put ceo was already fast asleep as soon as we started the trip so doing this was not that big of a deal.

Dk rested his head on my shoulder as we both listened to music. I kissed his forehead and I closed my eyes for a little bit. He was snuggling beside me and I was just glad that we sat down at the back side. People wont be able to see whatever we do here.

A few minutes later.. I felt movement from Dk and I noticed him, curling like a ball. Maybe he's a little bit cold. I slowly grabbed my jacket from my bag and wrapped it around him. He immediately snuggled close and then he opened his eyes a little.

"Thank you." He said and then got back to sleep. He's too cut to handle, I don't think I can handle not being close to him like this.

"Sleep more. We have a long way ahead of us." I whispered and he nodded.

"You too." He mumbled and I smiled.

After about an hour or two, we finally arrived.

"Hey dk, wake up." I said slowly and then I heard Hoshi shouting. He started to wake up and looked behind us.

"AHHHHHHHHHH" Hoshi shouted.

"Good you're awake . We're here." Hao said as he put his hands on his pockets and stood up like nothing happened and went down the bus.

"I'm wet." Hoshi complained. Dk and I laughed at his face. Hao really just threw water at him to wake him up. Seriously how is that even a proper way of waking someone up.?

"Hey, he let you sleep on him the whole time. You should just thank him." I said and he nodded and went out the bus.

I was about to stand up when Dk stopped me and grabbed mu hands.

"Wait.. let's wait for everyone to go down." He said and I nodded but still confused why. Then as soon as Hoshi went down Dk smiled.

"What are you smiling for?" I asked while chuckling.

"I wanted to give you a gift. It's not much but maybe it could help with us not being lovey dovey with each other." He said and grabbed his bag. He opened them and I waited for him to find it. Then his eyes lit up. He found it.

"Here!" He said as he pushed the stuff toy in my face.

"Is this supposed to be you?" I asked and chucked.

"Well yeah. Isn't it cute? So when you miss me, because I know you will, just hug this Dk. Do you liek it?" He said and then I took the stuff toy from him and smiled.

"I like it." I said.

"I wish I thought about this.. I didn't get you anything." I said embarrassed.

"Nah! It's fine. I'm fine just looking at you." He said and I laughed at his reason. I pinched his cheeks because he's too cute and then he just scrunched up his nose.

"Well then.. are you ready?" I said as I held his hands.

"Oh right one more thing." He suddenly said and I looked back at him just for him to crash his lips to mine. It was a soft kiss and he smiled through the kiss. He caught me off guard but I just pulled him closer and deepened the kiss.

"Alright enough. I know you can't get enough of me but please control yourself." He jokingly said and I chuckled. Seriously?

"Hey you started it." I complained and he laughed.

"I know". He said and winked.

"I'll miss you." I then said as we were about to go out the bus.

"Stop being overly dramatic." He said and laughed as he jumped out the bus. Hoshi was right there waiting for him and then they high five each other.

"Thanks for being the look out." I heard him say to Hoshi and I just laughed. Oh they planned it. He's too cute, I'm gonna be miserable this 3 days.

I hate myself such a big liar. I didn't really wanna lie to Joshua but I did. The truth is, Wawa from Hr is my ex- bestfriend. And I did more than the prom dress thing. I did a more hateful thing.... My stupid decisions destroyed their company... she just hated the fact that she confessed to me and I rejected her.

She did have feelings for me but I just felt nothing towards her more than a sister. I love her as my bestfriend but nothing more. I knew their company was having problems and just by pretending to like her, I could save it. But then they started to talk about marriage. I didn't wanna marry for money.. and I told her that. She told me to pretend but I couldn't do it in the end. It feels like I betrayed her. She didn't understand my decisions.. and starting there she hated me and started dating people I'm interested in. She made that pretty obvious the whole time and she stopped being my bestfriend entirely.

Now my only goal is for her not to think that I'm dating somebody because I just know she's gonna come for Joshua. "Hey what are you thinking?" Hoshi asked.

"Nothing, I was just in a daze." I said while thinking of what Wawa would do if she sees me.

"Why do you look depressed? Are you hungry? I heard Hao knew the Chef here." Hoshi suggested and I just smiled at him. He's actually really aware of my emotions.

"A little bit." I commented and then he smiled cheekily and then walked faster towards Hao and Joshu. Then I casually bump Joshua and he just smirked.

"Hoshi told me that you know the chef right?" I asked Hao and he smiled.

"Yeah, I invited him." Hao said nonchalantly.

"Let's go!!!" Hoshi and i shouted in unison.

"Let's go ask Kwan if he wants to come with." I suddenly suggested and Hoshi nodded.

"They stayed here since yesterday! Let's go find them." Hoshi said and we went separate ways with Hao and Joshua. ————————————————————-

Joshua pov.

"Where are those guys going now?" I asked Hao and he just raised his shoulders.

"Let's go find our rooms". He said and I nodded.

Since it was our boss' beach house, he decided the room assignment. Hao and I are in one room with Hoshi. Kwan and Dk is one the same room. Vernon was with the Boss as he suggested. I just laughed at their situation. The boss might be too paranoid with his son, Kwan.

We both settled down our things and grabbed the things of Hoshi too. He just left them on the bus when Dk grabbed him.

"It's nice here. Let—-" I was about to comment on the environment when a group of people walked passed us.

"Good day. Are you the guys from Hr?" Hao asked and I looked at him. Since when did he become an extrovert?

"Yeah, my names Wawa and these are my co workers Dominic and Micah." She said. I looked at the girl that just talked and thought, oh this is the girl Dk was talking about.

"Nice to meet you guys. I'm Hao and this is Joshua. He's the understudy for the South branch." Hao bragged and mocked me at the same time . I slapped his back and he just chuckled.

"Don't listen to him. Nice to meet you guys see you around." I said trying to end the conversation but then Wawa suddenly looked at me.

"Uhmm...about the games prepared.. just so you guys know, we are not gonna lose this year. We're the host this time and we'll be making sure you guys go down." Dominic suddenly said and I looked at them. Oh they're crazy. And super competitive.

"To be honest, not really gonna join." Hao said and I nodded.

"Yeah, we're probably gonna sit this one out." I added and they laughed.

"What?" I asked why they were laughing at us.

"Your team mate there? The guy acting like a tiger? He bet you're paper works to us. If we win, you're gonna do 2 weeks worth of paper work. And the same thing if you win, but that's gonna be impossible." Micah laughed. Oh they really are competitive. But god Hoshi was so overconfident.

"So see you then?" They said but then stopped.

"Oh can you take a message?" Wawa suddenly said as she pulled my ear closer to her.

"Sure?" I asked confused about our current awkward position.

"Tell Dk, he's not getting away this time." She said and I looked at her. She's already behind his back. I need to help him.. but how? They went back to where they were staying and I just looked at Hao.

"That guy is gonna be the death of us." I commented and Hao just wholeheartedly agreed. Then I saw Dk in the corner of my eyes. Dk then motioned to look at my phone. I then saw his text messages.

"That's her!!!" It read.

"Texting is fine?" I texted him.

"Yeah. No one knows its us anyway. But did she say something about me?" He texted and I shooked my head.

"Nah. She just accepted Hoshi's competitive spirit. Clearly, we are all screwed." I texted him again.

"Okey okey. Text me if anything comes up. Take care cutie." He texted me and I smiled.

"Miss you already." I texted back and he just sent a barfing emoji.  🤮
