Chapter 2

Joshua pov.

"Josh!!! Dinner!" Jeonghan shouted behind the door. He likes cooking now I guess. They both (jeonghan and his boyfriend) attended a cooking show and apparently he's a chef now. Good for them I guess.

I then looked at the time beside my bed. I was just trying to rest a little bit but I guess I took a nap instead.

"I'll be downstairs in a minute." I shouted back and I heard footsteps going away from the room. I grabbed my pajamas and changed into it.

"Wow you're late." He said and I chuckled.

"I guess." I said and sat down. He gave me a plate and we both started eating.

"Are you okey?" He suddenly said with a mouthful of food in his mouth.

"Yeah of course why?" I asked him.

"You cried." He suddenly said.

"I don't cry." I said to him while eating.

"Yeah right. When your ex- boyfriend broke up with you. You stayed in bed for a week. I wonder what's your problem now." He said nonchalantly and I just shook my head.

"I just met Gyu again." I honestly shared.

"Oh shit I hit the mark. What did you do?" He asked me invested at my story.

"We kissed." I said. Then there was silence. He looked at me.

"I'm sorry. I think I heard you wrong because correct me if I'm wrong, oh god please correct me because I just heard you tell me that you kissed Gyu?!?!!?!?" He said while standing up and putting his hands on his head.

"He kissed me. I stopped it." I said.

"What did he say? I bet something annoying and childish again." He asked.

"He told me to meet him or else he'll tell my secret." I honestly told him.

"Secret?" He asked. I looked down.

"That you like topping guys bigger than you?!?!? You nastyy" Ladies and gentlemen... Jeonghan my unhinged brother just suddenly blurted out. I was so embarrassed even if it was just the two of us. I almost threw my glass of water at him.

"You're getting annoying now. The secret about our parents. I told him a while ago and I regret it until now." I told him and he sat there crossing his arms.

"And you told him everything?" He asked.

"I told him about the divorce. And the stolen money." I honestly said. Then he walked towards me put his arms on my shoulders.

"Alright, game plan. Let's just kill him." He suddenly said.

"I know you're joking but you're scaring me. You got the look on your face. And he's not that bad. He's just lonely that's all. Also, he hasn't told a soul about the secret, I mean until now." I told him.

"I love you so much but sometimes you're just too trusting. I hate it. Just.. just be careful. Also Everyone has secrets." He said and I nodded. Sometimes I fear how my brother says things, giving killer vibes.

I haven't heard anything from Gyu. My boss is still killing me with all the unnecessary things like getting a water dispenser inside my office to lessen walking time to the break-room. Putting an air purifier, It's like a disaster.

"Sir, I'm done and ready to receive another set of files." Dk interrupted my thoughts as he saluted me like a weirdo. But he finished rather early this time.

"Take a break, I have no pending works." I told him. And he looked confused. Like a lost puppy if I may say.

"Break.. okey.. how do I do that?" He suddenly asked me and I looked at him like he was an alien. Oh right, it's his first job.

"Just relax. Meet with other employees. Talk a little. Do anything you want for the next 45 minutes. It's a slow day today anyway." I told him and he nodded.

"Can I hang out here with you instead?" He suddenly asked.

"Uhm.. no. I have work and your constant smiling is bothering me." I told him and he dropped his smile a little.

"That was a joke." I said.

"Oh.. thank God." He said as he smiled again like an idiot and sat in the corner just watching me work. I meant the smile thing was a joke but he meant it like I agreed for him to stay here:m. Seriously weird kid.

And he really did stay. For 30 minutes. After my work I got my work done when My phone vibrated. The number was from the CEO my boss. He calls more often now that I noticed.

"Hello sir?" I answered right away.

"Joshua! How's my favorite employee???" He suddenly said and I knew he needed something right away. Another one of the office design I guess.

"Doing fine sir. Is there anything I can do to help?" I asked.

"I just need one thing. My son is coming You know him, remember Kwan.." he said.

"Yes sir I do remember him." I noted.

"Right, right. I just need you to pick him up the airport in about 3" he said.

"Alright sir, I'll be ready in 3 hours." I said to him.

"Oh no. I meant be ready in 3 minutes. He's arriving in 10 minutes" he suddenly said. Then I stood up in shock. Why is he always making these kind of decisions.

"Is there a problem?" He suddenly asked because I didn't respond to him.

"Oh no sir. It's fine. I'll just leave Hao in charge while I'm gone." I told him and then he chuckled a little.

"Don't worry I'll take charge. I'll be in your office to supervise Dk." He said and then I looked at Dk who just smiled at me as always. I mean he has free time himself why can't he pick up his own son? Seriously. I have to do everything around here.

"Sir why are you in a hurry? Going somewhere?" Dk asked as he noticed my fumbling.

"Yeah, I have to pick up our Ceo's son. The Boss will keep an eye on you as per requested. I'll see you later." I told him and he nodded but he looked a little disappointed. But I didn't have time to ask about anything so I just left him there.

I immediately got my bag and stormed out the office. I could hear Hoshi and Hao asking where I was going but I just told them I had a job to do and they already knew that it was another errand. I mean they already know what kind of a man our boss is.

I got to my car and then went to the airport. In about 7 minutes I was already at the parking lot. I then saw Kwan walking towards my car. He already knows my car since I am always the one driving him around when I was a trainee.

"Joshua!!! You missed me right??" He suddenly said as soon as he entered my car. He gave me a hug and I gave him one back. He even kissed me on the cheek.

"I didn't even know you were coming home. I literally knew just 15 minutes ago." I told him honestly.

"Classic dad." He said and I smiled at him. Kwan really is very different from his dad.

Then all of a sudden my car door from the back opened and another foreigner entered my car. I looked at him and he just moved his head to acknowledge me. He was wearing earphones and playing with his phone.

"Uhmm.. and who is that?" I asked Kwan and he smiled even more cheekily.

"That's my bestfriend. I call him Non-non. You can call him Vernon. We both don't have school anymore. So he decided to come with." He said and I looked at him suspiciously.

"Bestfriend?" I whispered and he nodded. Oh I just knew that this guy was definitely his type.

"Your father won't be happy about this." I told him and he shook his head.

"Don't worry I'll just charm him." He bragged and I smiled. He's the same child I took care of through the years.

"So what's new?" He asked and I thought about it while driving back.

"Well nothing really. Just a new trainee your father hired." I said and he tilted his head.

"Oh? I thought that the firm was not hiring anymore weird. Alright then, let's go meet my dad!" He said while the guy behind me was still silent not even bothering to intervene. He's definitely Kwan's type.

"Hoshi!!!!" Kwan ran towards Hoshi and tackled him to the ground. People were looking and I just laughed at their childishness. They were both rolling on the ground as soon as they arrive.

"I guess you missed Hoshi more than me." Hao said and Kwan immediately stood up and hugged Hao too. At some point he was a little brother to all of us.

"I missed you more." He said to Hao and Hoshi acted hurt. Then all of a sudden all eyes were to Vernon.

"And who is this?!?!?" Hao asked acting all protective.

"Yeah who's this guy?!?" Hoshi added. Kwannwas enjoying the attention and I just laughed at them. They're like lions protecting a cub.

"Hi, my name's Vernon. I'm the bestfriend." He describes himself as such which made me look at Kwan confusingly. Oh he's being sarcastic. Something's going on.

"Alright then. Everyone I need to take Kwan away and meet his father. So just keep Vernon alive until then alright?" I told them and they nodded. Just a scare tactic because Kwan was an only child and we wanna be sure about his life even his peers.

"You guys are scaring him." Kwan pouted as we walked through the desks.

"He seemed relaxed though. Bored even" I said and he just chuckled.

"That's why he's cool." He said and I just laughed a little then I opened the door.

"Oh they're back!" Dk suddenly stood up in excitement as if he was waiting for me to come back. He went beside me and bowed to the boss.

"Thank you sir for keeping me company." He said then I felt him hold my arms behind me. What's up with this guy? I shook him off and looked at him then he just smiled at me and moved away a little.

"Dad?!? You're scaring the new guy already!" Kwan suddenly burst out as he greeted his father.

"I was just entertaining Dk. You know he's ——" then before he could finish Kwan covered his mouth. What was he about to say?

"Oh he's more important than me!? Stop talking about other people aren't you glad your son visited you!?!?" He said and the boss suddenly softened and smiled. He open up his arms and  Kwan run to him and hugged him.

"I know you forgot about my flight." He whispered but we both heard it. The office is a little small.

"Hey, your father is running a business. And I sent Joshua didn't I?" He reasoned out.

"Yeah but at the last minute. Why can you focus on one thing at a time? How you manage this company I could never imagine. Without Joshua you're nothing. " He said scolding his father. The boss got embarrassed and told us that he was taking Kwan home. We just laughed as Kwan winked.

Vernon came with them. I could see the confusion in his father's eyes when he saw Vernon but that's their problem now.

I then put my attention to Dk behind me.

"Uhmm what's up with you?" I asked him.

"Oh nothing, just a little uncomfortable. Our boss is really a handful is he?" He said and I laughed at him.

"Oh that? Oh you'll get used to that. He's sometimes really hard to work with. He does things on his own enjoyment. That's because he's not that far in age compared to us here maybe like 2-3 years older." I said and he looked surprised.

"But he's got a son already and i'm guessing he's just a little younger than me?" He asked.

"Oh Kwan's adopted. Actually a touching story. He's not married either. He's Just filthy rich and bored." I said to him and he laughed.

"I have a lot to catch up on then." He said and smiled again. Seriously doesn't he get tired?

"Oh right. I have one question." He suddenly said as I sat down my chair. I'm exhausted.

"What?" I told him.

"What's the Boss' name?" Are you kidding me? He doesn't even know the guy.

"Seriously?" I asked him.

"Uhuh." He said and It made me smile. I mean it's literally in everyplace in this building.

"His name is Seo Eunkwang. How did you even miss that." I asked while chuckling. Then I noticed him staring.

"What?" I asked.

"You look really handsome when you smile." He suddenly said and I stood there in shock. How can he just say that without even blinking. He even smiled after he said that.

"Get back to your work. We wasted a lot of time already." I said as I brushed out his comment.

That afternoon, we both worked in silence. We had a lot in our hands and even Hao and Hoshi didn't have time to bother me this time since it was a busy day. I sometimes glance up to see how he was doing and check up on him but he was really working really hard. I don't think he even needs me.

We worked overtime and people started to go. Some would knock on my door and say goodbye.

"Hey Josh, we'll head out now. Aren't you coming?" Hoshi asked.

"Nah.. I have to finish this. I didn't account the time going to the airport today so my work was a little delayed. You can bring Dk along he worked hard enough today." I said.

"No I can stay." He suddenly interrupted.

"Dk, you're still a trainee. You're not paid for overtime." I told him.

"He's not wrong dude. You're free to go." Hoshi added.

"Don't mind Joshua. He's a big boy." Hao said while winking at me. What's that even supposed to mean. I just gave him a confused look.

"Nah... I have nothing to do anyway. And we can finish faster if I help my boss." He said.

"Alright then. See you tomorrow." Hao said as they both went out.

He continued working and I just can't help but look at him. He's not as bad as I thought he was. He even offered to help. He might be a little slow in picking up obvious clues but he's hard working.

He was singing something really softly and since it was pretty silent with just us in the room I could clearly hear him. I guess he has a great voice too. I observed his facial features. He doesn't look bad either. Then I caught myself, why the hell am I checking him out?!?! Focus Joshua!

2 hours later

"Uhmm.. I'm all done." He suddenly said. He stretched out his arms and cracked his knuckles.

"Oh okey.. I just need to check your work just to make sure. Give me like 10 minutes." I said to him and he nodded. Since he was a trainee, I need to ensure that he did his work properly. Or else my name would be in the dirt.

After Exactly 10 minutes later... I looked up to see him already sleeping. His head was resting on both of his arms.

"Dk... wake up. We're done." I said as I put on my jacket. I guess he's a really deep sleeper because he didn't even flinch.

I walked towards his table and then tapped him in the back. He slowly opened his eyes and then looked at me. I was stunned, he actually look so cute up close.

When he looked up to me, I felt something like a shock. Then he smiled right away. Wow. I didn't notice how pretty his smile is despite him always doing it in-front of me.

"Are we done?" He asked me. I stepped back. I gotta pull myself together.

"Ya—yeah we're done." I stuttered. Damn it.

"Sorry I fell asleep." He said as he fixed his bag and put on his jacket.

"Come on I'll treat you to dinner since you helped me." I said and he looked shocked.

"Just the two of us?" He asked.

"Uhm yeah? Can you see anyone besides me?" I asked him and chuckled.

"Really?? You're asking me?" He asked excitedly.

"Yeah sure, who else am I supposed to ask?" I asked. Why is he being difficult.

"Alright then sure I'll go. It's been a while since I've been asked out." He suddenly blurted out and went out the office. Asked out? Wait did he mean like a date? Wait I'm just putting meaning to all of this. Let's just relax.

We settled on the place just beside the building. It was a little Italian place. Apparently he always eats his dinner here.

"Don't you cook for yourself?" I asked him as he took another bite of pizza.

"I don't know how. I usually just eat whatever I find in the convenience store or places like this. And I live alone, it's not practical." He said while eating another bite.

"Well if you want, I could ask my brother to give you some dinner once in a while. He's one of those people that just cooks a lot even though it's only the two of us eating." I told him and he chuckled.

"Really? Honestly that would be great." He said.

"Sure thing. What are bosses for" I said and then he looked confused.

"You know what.. Why are you being nice to me all of a sudden." he suddenly said. I was speechless. I can't even answer why.

"I'm always nice." I said.

"Nope. You hated me. And openly showed it." He said as he took another bite.

"I don't hate you. I just hate things not going in my way. When we first met you caused me to be late. Isn't that a reason for me to be annoyed at you?" I asked him and he laughed.

"What? I have a system and if my system breaks down, it interferes with the rest. This is who I am. " I tried to reason out.

"Alright I get it. Then let me promise to not get in your way. So that you'll like me." He suddenly said.

"What?" I asked.

"I want you to like me. Seems pretty clear to me." He said and I just chuckled.

"You're weird." I said.

"You're the weird one." He said and I chuckled. He's pretty funny.

We finished dinner and I decided to drip him off his house again. I texted Jeonghan and luckily he was staying over his boyfriend tonight. I didn't mind him and just told him to be careful. He's a grown man anyway.

"Thanks for the date." He said as soon as he's out the car.

"Not a date." I told him and his smile disappeared. Oh is he not joking? What's with his expression?!?

"Oh right. Thank you for the ride then..." he said.

"No, that's a thank you for helping out." I said. Then he just nodded and walked away.

"See you tomorrow I guess." I said.

"See you." He said as he walked inside his door. Weird. He looked really disappointed. But we were vibing a while ago. Maybe it was just my imagination.

I went home. Got ready for bed and tried to sleep. But somehow I just couldn't. Great, my insomnia is acting up again.

The next day..

I entered the office. There was an unusual noice in the breakroom. I placed my bag in my office and I noticed that Dk was still not in the room. He's late again.  I went to where the noice was coming from.

"What is with all this ruckus?" I asked them. Hao and Hoshi were also within the mix. These rascals. Then everyone dispersed, everyone except Hao and Hoshi.

"Oh boss right on time as always. You gotta see this." Hao suddenly said.

"What's this?" Then he handed me a magazine.

"Oh lala our trainee is a hottie." Hoshi suddenly said. No wonder the single ladies were squealing ealier.

"Where did you guys even find this." I said but as soon as I raised the magazine Dk entered the room. I immediately put the magazine behind my back. Damn it I'm the last one holding on to it.

"Good morning sir." He said and luckily he didn't see the magazine in my hand I immediately hid it under the magazines and entered the office after Dk.

We continued business as usual in silence. I was getting sleepy when all of a sudden Dk suddenly broke the ice.

"So you liked my modeling?" He suddenly said.

"What?" I asked in shock.

"I saw you guys looking. And the magazine was right there in the table. Don't worry I don't mind. I looked good there." He confidently said.  I just smiled.

"Sir, may I ask you a question." He suddenly interrupted.

"What is it?" I asked.

"What's your type??" He asked.

"Like blood type?" I asked nonchalantly without looking at him.

"No. Like type in women orrr men." He said. This time I looked up to see him directly in-front of me waiting for my answer.

"Where even is this coming from?" I asked.

"Just answer." He said as his face grew closer to mine.

"You're getting too close." I said without moving looking directly at him. Damn it I can't control myself, my eyes keeps on looking at his lips.

"You're not answering my question." He said as he literally inches away from my face. Then I don't know what came over me but I pulled his head and smashed my lips to his lips. He kissed me back right away. I feel like I was inhaling him within me and he reciprocated with the same aggressiveness I was emitting.

Then I realized what we were doing and pulled back.

"Now I know." He suddenly said as he licks hip lips trying to seduce me.

"Know what?" I asked then he walked towards my chair and sat on my lap. I didn't stop him.

"I'm your type right?" He said as he kissed me again deep. I felt like we were both hungry. Pulling each other closer to deepen the kiss. His hands traveled my hair and grasped them tight. I wrapped my arms around his waist. I was a mad man.

"Joshua." He suddenly said. I felt dizzy and then I heard the voice again.

"JOSHUA!" This time I opened my eyes. Fuck. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!?

"Are you okey? You fell asleep and Dk couldn't wake you up." Hao said as I tried to fix myself. I touched my face and realized I was dreaming. 

"There you go, next time just shout his name he'll be back." Hoshi added.

"I'm sorry I was just exhausted. I couldn't sleep last night." I said and put my hands on my face. Covering the blush that dream gave me.

Shit, I need to get myself together. It's just because we see each other often. It doesn't mean anything. It's nothing. It's fucking nothing Joshua. RELAX.
