33: Family (Part 2) The End

Lan Wangji followed Wen Ning on his lead. A simple nod hinted the detective to go on his own.

A mausoleum of the Wei's built with large bricks of white limestones was the destination.

Wangji's heart was filled with fear, his heart beat crazily and he hesitated a second.

What made him start walking again was hope, a desire for an explanation. Just something to appease his longing.

As he opened it's doors, he saw a tall man in white inside of it.

At first sight, Wangji recognised him.

Something changed in his air. It felt warmer, gentler. An enchanting gravity which will pull even that of a person without a heart.

As he turned around, Lan Wangji's eyes watered instantaneously.

It's really him! His Wei Ying. Beautiful as ever. A spellbinding sin he would die for.

Their eyes got tangled. Fire wasn't in there like before. No lust. No obsession. No shallow emotions.

What there is...?

The Love.

Who had run to the other first? Who had kissed the other first? None of them knew and it does not matter.

The action was instant and automatic. Like two magnets attracted together, pieces that are meant to be connected.

All the loneliness vanished, the questions blurred, the hesitations disappeared. Their love undoes them and there were no more what and whys.

For a while, they stayed connected with lips brushing each other as they hold their breaths for a reunion they've waited for so long. Their arms snaked around each other tightly, both not wanting to loosen and let go.

When the first words were said, it was a mutual 'I love you still.' No remorse, no blame, no guilt, no surge of negativity.

What happened in the last three years didn't matter at all. The difficult months were swat aside. The time wasted bears no meaning anymore.

Where was Wuxian all along? Who was the child?

"Wei-Lan Su."

Baby Su'er, the little bundle calls himself.

The miracle brought by their true love.

"He's our son." Wuxian craddled Lan Zhan's face, tears staining his own smooth cheeks.

Lan Zhan cried with him, tears of happiness, thinking how perfect dreams could turn into reality. A little Wei Ying and a little Lan Zhan they dreamed off, came true in a gift form of Su'er.

He was guided to touch the scar on Wei Ying's tummy. A horizontal mark where this miracle came from. "Ours." Lan Zhan sobbed and fell on his knees pulling Wuxian in a hug and kissing the mark with love and joy.

Soon that bundle of joy came rushing to them and joined the family wrap. A beautiful family. A happy ending.

Two souls who had survived the storms, finally found each other again. Such a blessing. A beautiful miracle. A wondrous gift.

"Papa! Dada!" Little Su'er giggled receiving the love of his two fathers from two sweet kisses on each side of his cheeks.

Where Wei Ying had been in those years? I won't tell. Because I wanted the past to be set aside and for you (and Lan Zhan and Wei Ying) to just focus on this beautiful present and their future together as a family.

What happened before, the sad and bad pasts, are now insignificant.

What matters is their love...and now, their family of their own ❤️💚
