Epilogue

Bucky's POV

The day Steve left was the worst day of my life. We shared a beautiful and intimate night together, and then he said goodbye. I went with him to see him off, and there were SHEILD agents everywhere, and I said goodbye to Nat, Clint, and Wade as well. Peter was there with me, and we were not pleased to see our boyfriends leaving. Steve and I shared a passionate kiss underneath his shield because a few agents were giving us weird stares when we held hands. I finished my third year at Avengers Academy, and I completed my training and SHEILD decided to recruit me along with Peter, Scott, Sam, Wanda, Rhodey, and Vision. Tony, Bruce, Thor, and Loki were recruited a month after Steve left.

Steve was coming home today, and I was so nervous. What if he changed his mind about us while he was gone? What if he comes back injured in a way he can't be with me? I haven't talked to him since he left for security reasons and because he couldn't bring his phone with him. But I did give him a photo of me, which he taped to the inside of his shield. I'm sure he got weird looks for that.

"Bucky wake up! Wade's coming home!" Peter was jumping on my back while I was trying to nap on my couch, this kid has too much energy.

"Get off me Parker!" I yelled and he webbed me off the couch and I fell on my face.

"Really?" and I got up and rubbed my face.

"Sorry Bucky, but they should be here in 10 minutes!" he yelled and I rolled my eyes.

Having them gone for a year was hell, but I didn't think time would go so fast. I saw Steve on tv once, and I couldn't be prouder of what he's done. They call him Captain America for a reason. Plus, the suit they gave him is very tight and I have no complaints.

Peter is like the son I don't want, he's so messy and I made the mistake of letting him live with me while Steve was away. I couldn't leave him with his aunt, who was sick and in the hospital, so I let him stay here. There were webs all over the house, and he refused to clean up after himself, which means I had to be a mom and punish him. So I took his web shooters away for a month, and he was already cleaning up when he heard the boys were coming home early. I know he wants to make sure Wade feels welcome, but it's my house too so we compromised.

The doorbell rang, and he ran to the door and yelled.

"WADE!" I heard him and I covered my ears, then I smiled at how cute they are.

"Hey baby boy, Bucky," he said and I waved.

Then Steve walked in, and I swore time stopped. He looked me in the eyes, and I felt tears start the form in my eyes. I promised myself I wouldn't cry, but I couldn't help it.

"Hi Stevie," I said and he grinned.

He ran up to me and hugged me, then I wrapped my arms around his neck tightly.

"I missed you so much Bucky," he whispered in my ear and I grinned and tears started falling down my face onto his suit.

"I missed you too, so much," I said and he looked me in the eyes and pulled me in for a kiss and I shoved my tongue in his mouth and kissed him greedily. I missed those lips.

Steve's POV

Seeing Bucky again is amazing, I thought about him every night and every time we won a battle against hydra. I was fighting for my country, but I felt I was fighting for my chance to go back home to see him. And I'm glad I won that battle. Wade was a nightmare the whole time, he kept staring at a photo of him and Peter before every mission, and he cried one night and we all couldn't sleep because he became hysterical crying.

I called Tony the day before I came home about how I'm going to surprise Bucky with a promise ring. We're only 18 and I don't want to propose, it's just a promise that I want us to keep until we're old enough to tie the knot. When I told Tony he starting screaming about how I was 'all grown up' and that he called being best man.

I had Tony throw a small get together, and I didn't leave Clint in charge this time. I wanted it to be perfect, just like Bucky.

"I saw you on tv a couple times," Bucky said interrupting my thoughts.

"Yeah? How'd I look?" I asked smirking and he blushed.

"Hot, especially in that tight suit," he said and I grinned and kissed his cheek.

We just had 'I miss you' sex, and Wade was downstairs with Peter probably making out or something. But we were wrong when he came up here and banged on the door telling us to 'shut up'.

"Scott designed it," I said and he laughed.

"Of course he did, god bless him and god bless America!" Bucky exclaimed and I rolled my eyes at his goofiness. I missed that the most, I missed him in general.

"So, Tony is having a small party at his place soon. I thought we could go," I suggested hoping he's up for it.

"Yeah, sounds fun. Let me just change first," he said and got up. I couldn't help but stare at his bare back and he turned and winked at me before grabbing an outfit.

I changed as well, and we went downstairs and saw Wade and Peter cuddled on the couch.

"Hey lovebirds, we're leaving," I said and they got up following us outside. I drove us there and I had JARVIS tell Tony I was here.

"It's nice to have you back sir, Mr. Stark was quite a handful in your absence," JARVIS said and I laughed.

Of course he was.

"STEVE!" I was tackled in a hug from Tony and I hugged him back.

"Hey Tony, ok...you can let go now," I said gasping for air and Bruce had to remove him from me.

"Sorry, I didn't think I missed you that much. Meh, I guess I'm happy your back I mean...whatever," he said and I chuckled at him. Tony can never be emotional with me.

Everyone else greeted me, and we all sat around and talked.

"So, tell me...in detail about how it felt working with SHEILD," Scott asked with his phone on the recording app.

"Well, everyone on the team was very welcoming. I got a new suit, shield, and-

"Can I see the shield?" Scott asked and I nodded and went to grab my shield I left by the door.

I blushed and everyone started smiling. Bucky was grinning like mad, and I handed my shield to Scott.

"WOW! Wait, is that a photo of Bucky on the inside?" I nodded and sat back down.

"Can I just saw I killed at least 50 people!" Wade exclaimed.

"Well I shot about 1,000 arrows!" Clint added with a smirk.

"Please boys, we all know I was the one picking up after you," Nat said crossing her arms and we all know she won that battle.

Scott snapped a photo of my shield and we all decided to order pizza.

Bucky was leaning his head on my shoulder, and we were playing charades.

Scott was doing some odd pose with his eyebrows.

"Justin Bieber" Bucky yelled.

"Dammit! I was gonna say that!" Wade whined and I laughed.

I decided to cut the game short, and do what I was anticipating.

"Um guys, I'll be right back," I said and they all nodded.

I stood up and played with the box in my sweater pocket.

"Buck, come outside with me?" I asked and he got up and took my hand in his.

We walked out the back to where the stage was and I sat on the edge and he sat next to me

"What's up? You're not leaving again are you?" Bucky asked panicking and I shook my head and took his hand in mine.

"No way, not again," I said and he sighed in relief.

"I wanted to tell you how much you mean to me. I was a wreck when my parents died, and you were the only one there for me, but I was clueless when all you wanted to do was help me. But when I saw you again this year, I felt different. A good different, and I like how I feel when I'm with you. I feel like myself, and I don't think I could feel that way with anyone else. I love you James Buchanan Barnes, so I wanted to give you this," I reached into my pocket and opened the box with the ring.

"I want us to be together forever, this isn't a proposal, its a promise. A promise to be faithful to one another, to be there for each other no matter what. So Bucky, will you promise to marry me in the near future?" I asked and he looked at me shocked. My hands were sweaty, and I was on edge.

"Yes, I promise," Bucky said and I grinned. I took the ring out and placed in on his finger.

"It's beautiful," Bucky said admiring the blue diamond.

"I tried finding one that matched your eyes, but no diamond could compare to the blue of your eyes," I said and Bucky giggled and I blushed.

"You're so cheesy, but I love it," he said and I took his hand in mine.

I leaned in and placed my lips on his. I felt Bucky smiling through the kiss, and I pulled away and grinned at him.

"I love you," I said and he looked at me in a loving gaze.

"I love you too Stevie," and I kissed him one more time.

We went back inside, and when I opened the door I saw Wade on the floor.

"Wade?"

"I swear they told me to do it!" he exclaimed with his hands up and I laughed.

I went to the living room and saw Tony had the tv showing the video feed from outside.

"You guys are the worst," I said and they turned to us and immediately started asking Bucky to show them the ring.

I sat on the couch with Wade, and watched Bucky smile while showing off his ring. I couldn't help the grin that came across my face. I know Bucky is the one, since we became best friends I knew he was special. He's the best thing that's ever happened to me, and I'd be luck to call him my husband.
