Chapter Seventeen
02:40, 4 November 2015a/n: In honor of Neverseen coming out today. . .
The last chapter wasn't supposed to stop so abruptly and there was supposed to be another scene but then. . . Well, you know. To keep me busy I'm writing this chapter.
And to change the topic I got Neverseen this morning on my kindle and it cheered me up so I started reading it and I'm only on chapter... fifty three, maybe fifty four but I had to stop because I started blabbing everything happening to my mom (Who's only on chapter three) and my sister (who hasn't started yet)
And I skipped to the last two pages and read them like I always do when I read a book and it's killing me because I really want to find out what happens leading up to those pages and OMG I WANT TO SPOIL SO BAD JUST ONCE YOU READ NEVERSEEN PLEASE PM ME SO I CAN FANGIRL WITH SOMEONE.
And oh my gosh when Sophie totally burned Bronte with the, "They thought it was the oldest thing in the world but obviously they've never met Bronte." (not exact quote) I was dying and rolling on the floor laughing and both my sisters were questioning my sanity
and am I the only one majorly shipping Dex and Biana after it? Like. . . That boy twin who's name I forget is cool but. . . Dex and Biana all the way.
And I'm still shipping Foster-Keefe. Who cares about the major Sophitz in it? There was just as much Foster-Keefe.
And Keefe's ship names for everyone is awesome and I love Dex and Keefe's friendship... but I haven't finished yet so I'm scared something might happen
And I'm just going to start the chapter before I spoil.

"I don't understand. . . "
"It's art."
"It's trash.
"It's beautiful," Sophie defended.
"Whatever floats your boat," Keefe said, shaking his head. "It still doesn't look good."
"Well, don't tell Ashla. She worked really hard on making it for her wedding. I'm only the messenger." Sophie narrowed her eyes. "By the way, your dad called. You've been avoiding him?"
"Not avoiding. . . "
"You haven't been home for a week, and he says that you didn't come back after you guys talked about your mom-"
"Don't even mention it," he cut her off with a glare.
She sighed. "You're going to have to face them eventually."
"You were there, Sophie! You saw my mind! You know how they treated me!"
"I also saw your dad has been treating you since we've come back and I see how your mom works so hard to try to at least earn the right to stand in the same room as you," she said, narrowin ghe reys. "Now, you go home right now."
"Sophie-"
"Don't make me scream. Sandor is right outside and he'll hear and he'll think you're hurting me and you'll have to leave anyways and you can't stay with me to avoid your problems and I'll call Dex and Fitz so you can't go see them either." Her eyes were filled with challenge, and he backed away immediately.
"You win, Sophie. . . " He bit his lip and leaned forward. He quickly kissed her temple just as Grady opened the door. The two pulled away, and rolled their eyes at the same time. "I'll go talk, but if it doesn't work out I'm blaming you." He narrowed his eyes playfully at her.
She giggled and threw her pillow at him. "Go away."
He waved her off and left, sending Grady a little two finger salute on his way. Grady smiled at Sophie after he left and sat at her seat. "You two are really cute together."
"Thanks?" He tilted her head to the side. "Where is this going?"
"Look, Sophie. . . I know you guys are really close but you guys aren't going to go on like this forever, right?"
"Like what?" She asked, frowning.
"Young and in love. One day you're going to have to step up in your relationship."
Her eyes widened. "Excuse me?"
"I'm just wondering if you and him are planning on getting married in the future?" He shrugged. "Is that bad for me to wonder?"
She shook her head. "Um. . . No, it's just. . . We haven't really talked about that, you know? It's not just something you talk about."
"Actually, it is something you might want to talk about. One day he's going to ask you to marry him and I don't think that's something you want to be surprised at."
"I'm perfectly fine with being surprised when my boyfriend asks me to marry him. . . But if anything, you should tell him I said that it can't be to public, or public at all. I can only handle so much attention. Tell him that he should do it while on a date, maybe on a picnic or something. Also tell him that I said don't be stupid and that he shouldn't of asked you, and he should've asked Biana to talk about it with me for the details."
Grady's jaw dropped. "How'd you. . . ?"
"I overheard my friends pressuring him to ask me to marry him," she explained, her cheeks burning a brilliant red. "And it might be because I said something to Biana about it and she probably wanted to blab it to everyone else and everyone else blabbed it to him."
"You what?"
"Yeah. . . It was more Mr. Forkle, I swear.," she defended.
"You've been taking away to much advice from adults. First Bronte telling you date Keefe and now Mr. Forkle telling you to marry him."
"No, Bronte explained why I wasn't dating Keefe and Mr. Forkle kind of explained why I didn't want to marry Keefe."
"You didn't want to marry him?" Grady's eyes widened. "But you guys already act like you're married.
Sophie shook her head. "I was confused and it was a personal reason and Mr. Forkle told me some stuff and then I was like, 'okay. . . I guess I'm okay with it.' So I told Biana and Ashla I'm okay with marrying him but I think that with all the Fitz and Ashla wedding stuff going on right now he should wait until after their wedding to ask me... And not during. I couldn't handle being asked to marry someone in front of so many people. . . Man, I'm cringing just thinking about it. I don't know how people handled flashmob proposals."
"Flashmob proposals?" Grady asked, frowning.
"Basically it's a group of people who will sing and dance out of nowhere, and it's called a flashmob. If it's a flashmob proposal, usually at the end of the flashmob the guy will appear out of nowhere and while the people are singing and dancing, towards the end, he'll ask her to marry her," she explained. "It's romantic but. . . Way to public in my opinion. Plus, imagine if the poor guy got turned down in front of so many people!"
Grady nodded. "Humans are so. . . "
"Weird?"
"Different," he corrected.
She sighed. "So tell him it should be between us two, it has to be after Fitz and Ashla's wedding, and that he should just ask me on his own terms and not my own, because that's o much better."
Grady nodded. "Get some sleep, aren't you meeting up with Marella tomorrow?"
She nodded. "Yeah, night dad."
___
"So I was talking with Stina and--"
"Stina?" Sophie's eyebrow raised. "I thought you hate her."
Marella waved her off. "Anyways, I was talking with Stina and I found out that her boyfriend isn't even cute and she's not even that happy. . . But I don't care and I didn't even mak efun of eh rfor it. I don't know what has happened!"
Sophie laughed. "We've all grown up. With time comes growth, simple. You've grown up and realized there's more important things than ruining Stina's life. How's your boyfriend, anyways?"
Marella grinned. "he's great. You remember him, right?" Sophie raised en eyebrow. Marella laughed. "Jensi! Man, did you forget all your old friends? You were friends with Jensi way before Keefe. You were friends with me way before Biana."
Sophie sighed, and her head hung low. "I don't know why I always left you two out," she admitted. "I don't even know if I realized I was doing it."
Marella nodded. "It's fine. I'm here now. . . And Jensi would love to reconnect with you if you're okay with reconnecting with him."
Sophie nodded. "Of course!" She looked out. "So, how long have you guys been together? You're good matches, right?"
Marella nodded. "He was my ten and I was is fourteen. Usually people don't get together with people who are low on the list like that but I think it's still good that we are on each other's lists. I don't think I could handle drama like I did with Cael."
"How did he feel about 'the scandal'?" Sophie asked, smiling softly.
"He. . . Understood, actually. He understood a lot and we've been together since the council said we could call off the wedding and. . . I don't know what I was thinking when I got together with Cael."
Sophie nodded. "Same."
"How's Keefe?" Marella asked curiously.
"I think he's good. . . He left my house earlier than normal yesterday and I haven't talked to him since. I should probably go check on him."
Marella nodded. "I have a date with Jensi later. I should go to." The two hugged quickly. "Bye Sophie."
"Bye Marella."
