Chapter 2

04:10, 11 December 2012

Carly's POV:

"You're on in ten minutes, Ms. McKinley," a producer guy said, and I smiled thankfully at him.

It was the time of the day where I had an interview to do, and I was ready for it. I had done a couple of interviews before, so I knew what I to say, what not to say, and how to act. I was dressed in dark blue skinny jeans, a flowy tank top type shirt with a black belt type thing around the waist, and black heels with colored patterns on the bottom. Marissa had applied some bronze eye shadow, pink blush, and nude lip stick on me while Carter had made my hair into a cute little French braid that fell over my right shoulder.

It was an interview with Wanda Watson, and I was fully ready for it. "You ready, babe?" Kristen asks, dressed in her everyday black pencil skirt and white blouse with heels.

I nod, standing up. "Yup," I reply, popping the 'p.'

Just then, the producer guy comes back on, telling me it's my cue. Hurrying, I walk out and on to the stage right after Wanda introduces me, and the crowd erupts into cheers. As I walk on to stage, I smile and wave at the audience and give Wanda a hug, then the two of us sit down on the couches. Once the audience dies down, Wanda grins at me. "It's so lovely to meet you, Carly!" she exclaims.

"It's really nice to meet you too, Wanda," I smile back. "Thanks for having me."

Wanda scoffs. "No, no. Thank you for coming," she insists, and I grin. "Now, let's get to it. How's your album coming along?"

"Wonderful, actually," I smile. "I'm really excited for it, but nervous as well."

"No need to be nervous," Wanda chuckles. "Tell us something about the album. What kind of music can we expect?"

I tuck a strand of loose hair behind my ear before I answer. "Mostly pop," I answer. "There are some dance songs mixed with it, but I work on mostly pop songs."

Wanda nods. "And you write all of these songs by yourself?" she asks with a raised eyebrow.

I nod. "Yeah," I reply. "It takes exhausting hours thinking of lyrics and what I want the song itself to be about, but in the end it becomes worth it because the songs come out pretty well."

Wanda smiles. "And are you filming any music videos?" she asks, sipping some coffee from her mug.

I think for a moment. "I'm not exactly sure," I answer. "I might have some music videos for two or three songs, but we haven't discussed that yet."

The interview went on about my songs, album, and other things, when Wanda changed the subject completely different from music. "Now, we have some rumors going aroung," she says, sitting up. "You've been seen having lunch with British/Irish band One Direction yesterday at TGI Fridays. Is that true?"

I nod, smiling slightly. "Yes, it's true," I answer in my British/American accent.

"And how'd that come to happen?" she asks, the audience growing quiet to know.

"Well," I sit up straight. "I was on my way for a photoshoot when I had bumped into them at the studio, since they had a photoshoot there as well. We all talked for a bit and just, you know, became friends I guess. We then met up for lunch later on and just got to know each other a little more," I explain.

Wanda nods, smiling. "And any crushes?" she asks with a mischevious smile.

I shake my head, chuckling. "Oh, no," I answer. "I don't know them that much to have a crush on any of them. Don't get me wrong, they're good looking lads, but I'm not really looking for a relationship at the moment."

"And why's that?"

"I guess I just want to focus on my music for now," I reply. "I mean, it's my first album and I don't need anything like a relationship to have me distracted from my work."

Wanda nods. "That's understandable," she says. "But once you're done with your album, do you think you'd be ready for dating then?"

I shrug. "Possibly," I answer. "I'm not totally sure about it. We'll see what happens," I smile.

Wanda smiles, and the rest of the interview drags on. Ten minutes later it ends and it's time for me to leave. I say goodbye to Wanda, giving her a quick hug, before Kristen comes and rushes me out of the building. I spot my security gaurd, Randy, waiting for me. He was a tall, built guy. He looked intimidating, but once you got to know him, he's really sweet and funny. He's like a father to me, and I can talk to him about anything. He saw me walk towards him, and he lets out a small smile.

"Ready to go, Carly?" He asks.

I nod. "Yeah," I answer.

Randy smiles and nods, and then guides Kristen and I out of the back door. Just as we step out in the LA sun, a dozen flashes blind us. I slip on my sunglasses as the paparazzi yell at me to smile or look here or there. Randy, going on full on bodygaurd mode, hides Kristen and I and pulls us along the crowd and into our grey van. I slip into the back seat along with Kristen as Randy joins Hank, our driver, up front.

"We ready to be off?" Hank asks, turning to look at us.

I nod, and Hank starts the car. As we exit the studio parking lot and away from the paparazzi, my phone buzzes, telling me I have a text.

From: Harry(;

Hey love! We just saw your interview. You looked stunning ;) xx

I most likely blushed, considering that my cheeks were heating up. Still, I texted him back.

To: Harry(;

Oh, did you? Have nothing better to do?

From: Harry(;

Lol no. We're all just lounging around in the living room of our suite. You should come over to our hotel! :D

To: Harry(;

Right now??

From: Harry(;

Sure, come on!! I'll send you the name of the hotel and meet you in the lobby.

To: Harry(;

Alright, Styles. As you wish.

I turn to Kristen and ask, "Do I have anything else scheduled for today?"

Kristen thinks for a Mument, then shakes her head. "Not that I know of," she replies. "Why?"

"Harry invited me over to their hotel suite," I tell her. "The boys are apparently extremely bored."

Kristen chuckles. "Sure, you can go," she says. "We'll drop you off now."

*************

"Hey! You're here!" Harry grins, pulling me into a hug at their door of the suite.

I smile as I hug him back. "What, you didn't think I'd come?" I chuckle as we walk in.

Harry laughs. "Of course not," he says as he leads me to the living room. I see the boys lounging around on the couches, with the exception of Louis who is sprawled across the floor, staring at the ceiling with a blank expression on his face.

"You okay, Lou?" My question seemed to startle him, because he immediately jumped to his feet, looking around wildly. "Whoa, whoa, calm yourself," I chuckle.

When Louis' blue eyes land on me, a grin appears on his face. "You're here!" he exclaims, tackling me in a hug, knocking most of the air out of me.

"Lou, let her breathe!" Zayn laughs from the couch.

Louis huffs and let's go of me, letting me regain my balance. "So how'd your interview go?" Niall asks as Harry and I sit down on one of the couches next to Niall.

"It was good," I reply. "Same old, same old."

The six of us just stayed in the living room and talked, ordering Chinese food for dinner a few hours later. Harry and I talked a lot too, getting to know each other a bit more. As we ate our food, Harry asks me, "So what are you doing tomorrow night?"

"Nothing at all," I respond, swallowing my noodles.

"How about you come to our concert tomorrow night?" Harry asks, smiling. "It's at the Staples Center, starts at seven."

I smile and nod. "Sure. That sounds fun!"

Harry grins back, and the rest of the boys cheer. "We'll pick you up," Zayn tells me, and I smile back.

My first One Direction concert. This should be fun...
