Dates and Pillows

Marinette stared at her phone and furrowed her eyebrows. She looked at the text she had sent Adrien.

Fashionista: Hey Adrien, I just wanted to tell you I like you a lot and would you like to go out sometime?

She gulped nervously. "He's going to reject me" she stated putting her phone on her desk. She turned the chair so she was facing the girls. Alya was on her Chaise, Bridgette was on the other chair, and Tikki was on her bed. "You don't know for sure" Alya said. Marinette sighed and stuffed her hand in a bowl full of popcorn. She pulled a handful out and stuffed it in her mouth, she then slightly whimpered. Bridgette snatched the bowl away from her and let out a small 'tch', "those and for the movie" Bridgette sat back down and laid the bowl on the floor. Marinette's phone then rang. "Must be him" Tikki leaned over and tried to look at the phone. Marinette grabbed it, hope in her eyes, she stared at it. The glint of hope escaped her eyes and she replied. She whimpered again and put the phone down. "What's it say?" Bridgette asked, Marinette didn't respond, Alya took it and looked at the phone. She showed Bridgette:

Agreste: Sorry Marinette, I can't return your feelings I already like another. But we could hang out as friends.

Fashionista: It's okay, and no thanks, me and the girls will be hanging out the entire week.

Agreste: How about next week :)

Fashionista: No

Fashionista logged out.

Marinette buried her head in her arms, and groaned. "Mari" Tikki got off the bed and tapped her. Marinette looked up and smiled. She told herself not to cry, "I'm okay, I saw this rejection coming from a mile away" she reassured them. Tikki smiled, and Bridgette nodded. "And besides, if I wasn't happy...would I do this" she grabbed a pillow and hit Tikki on the face "you're so on!" Tikki yelled, grabbing another pillow and smashing it against Marinette's face. "Don't forget about us!" Alya grabbed another pillow and attack the two girls. Soon after, Bridgette joined and it became a pillow fight. Marinette jumped on the couch and put the movie Tinkerbell. The three girls stopped fighting, and joined their friend on the couch.

Bridgette, Alya, and Tikki were then fast asleep. Marinette smiled and went up to her balcony. She enjoyed the warm breeze, it somewhat reminded her of...Adrien. Marinette trembled and covered her eyes, every time a tear would try to slip out she wiped it away. She then heard a small thud on her balcony, she turned and saw the infamous Chat Noir. "What is this stray kitty doing here at this time of night" she asked, putting her hands on her hips. Chat smirked "I was patrolling and noticed my princess out here" he eyed her, their eyes met. He noticed her eyes were glassy, she was trembling. "What's wrong princess?" Chat asked, she gave him a fake smile and a fake laugh. "Nothings...wrong" her voice cracked. She didn't care anymore she broke down. Chat's eyes softened, his heart broke as his princess cried her eyes out. He pulled her into a hug, burying her head deeper into his chest. "Princess" his voice was soft and soothing, he tried to calm her down. He rubbed her back trying to make her calm. After she calmed down a bit, she pulled away. "Th-thanks" she smiled weakly. "What happened" even though he knew what happened. "I...confessed to a guy I liked and...even though I saw it coming, he rejected me. I asked him out on a date...and he said as friends. I mean I-I'm c-cool with being friends but...I'm not strong enough t-to hang out with him. I need to calm down a bit...so I can face him" Marinette rubbed her eyes and let some tears fall out. "I told myself not to cry, not even in front of my bestfriends...not alone either. But...I guess I broke my promise" Marinette softly chuckled, her voice was hoarse. Chat rubbed her head, he felt like a really big idiot. "You can trust me princess...I'll always be there for you." Chat assured her, she nodded and pulled away. "Bye Chat!" Marinette went back inside her room. Chat facepalmed himself. "I'm an idiot" he confessed.

With Adrien.

Chat jumped into his room and de-transformed. He put Camembert in front of his annoying Kwami. "I've been an idiot Plagg" Adrien said, flopping on his bed. "So you kind of broke her heart...so what?" Plagg stuffed Camembert into his mouth and smiled at it's 'tastiness'. Adrien groaned "Marinette is a sweet girl, and it breaks me to see her that way" Adrien ran his fingers through his hair. Plagg flew over to Adrien, "so why'd you say no to her" Plagg settled on Adrien's hair, "my heart belongs to Ladybug" Adrien closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

The next day

Marinette and the girls walked to school early, Marinette's head was low, she still can't believe her partner saw her (well, her civilian self) in such a sad state. "Hey dudettes" Nino greeted the four teens with Felix next to him. "Hey babe" Bridgette wrapped her arms around Felix's neck and gave him a peck on the nose. "Hey babe~" Nino teased, he was interrupted by Alya grabbing his collar and pulling him to her "why don't you say hi to ME" Alya's voice was laced with anger. "Uh...hey bae" Nino said nervously, Alya scoffed and gave him a peck on the cheek. "Hey" Plagg walked up to Tikki and wrapped his arms around her. "Hey Plagg" Tikki said, smiling. "I'll see you guys in class...I feel like I'm 7th wheeling" Marinette excused herself and walked to class. She sat in her usual seat and started drawing. "Hey Marinette" Nathaniel greeted, "Hey Nat" Marinette offered him a smile. "I wanted to t-tell you something" Nathaniel said, nervously. Marinette smiled, "could this be a confession" she thought. "I wanted to tell you...me and Lila are dating, I was so excited when she told me how she felt" Nathaniel said, eagerly (yes I ship it). "C-congrats" Marinette said, she gave him a weak smile. He nodded and walked to his seat. Marinette sighed and continued drawing. "I guess I'll be forever alone" she mumbled. She frowned and laid her head on the desk. Soon, students came rushing in. She didn't notice when Adrien walked in, or when he said good morning. He tapped her on her shoulder, she jumped up and looked at him. He gave her one of his sweet smiles, she couldn't deal with this yet. "E-excuse me" she stood and rushed to the girl's restroom. She covered her mouth and silently sobbed. She was still in love with him. "Chat" she whispered through her tears. She walked back to class and ignored Adrien. "Okay class" Miss Bustier said, "there are three more days until the assignment is due" Miss Bustier reminded them. Marinette totally forgot about that, and her partner was Adrien. "Miss, can I work alone instead" Marinette asked, she really couldn't work with Adrien. "Is there a problem, Miss Dupain-Cheng?" Marinette winced "w-well um...I just can't work with someone, I uh...am sick a-and I don't want to um...get him sick" Marinette lied, coughing a little. Miss Bustier sighed "fine" Miss Bustier internally cried, her ship wouldn't sail.

"Mari why'd you lie?" Adrien asked, class was ending so it was just them and Felix. "I...can't work with you Adrien, I just...I can't, sorry" Marinette grabbed her bag and walked to the door before turning around "and don't call me Mari" Marinette finally left. In the hall she saw Chloe smirking evilly. She walked towards Adrien and spoke with him, he nodded and Chloe smiled. She grabbed his arm and pulled him towards Marinette. "Hey Marinette, want to double date with me and Adrien" Chloe smirked evilly, Adrien's eyes widened, before he could say anything Chloe did. "Oh (laughs) who am I kidding? You're still single...you're the ONLY person in this school who's single." Chloe laughed again "oh right, no one would want to date you!" Chloe said again. But I forgot to tell you, every one was listening "that's why Adrien rejected you" Chloe laughed harder. "You are just TRASH...you should've been named Mari-Trash!" Chloe smiled, she saw Marinette trembling. Tears slid down her cheeks, she had enough. She pushed Chloe out of the way and ran home. None of her friends saw her, they all left for their dates.
