Part 22

I decided to buy some snacks and what Bucky had requested me, plums. He would sit there all day eating plums but I told him to lessen it and told him to try different fruits, but he always insists.

"Hayley?" I turned around to the voice behind me.

"Hance?"

"What are you doing here? And what are those?" he pointed at the paper bag that I'm holding.

"It's none of your business. Sorry, gotta go" I walked pass him but he grabbed my wrist turning me around to face my brother.

"Let go, you're hurting me. What do you want?" I could see his angered eyes as his grip became tighter.

"Go back to New York. It's not safe here anymore, Hayley"

How dare he to tell me things like this? Now, he's concern? I thought he already dumped me?

"Why would I listen to you?" I frowned.

"Because you need to. If you stay here any longer, they will take your life just like how they took dad from us"

"Don't you dare talk about dad in front of me! I'm not going to listen to you because I already have my life, and I can protect myself" I pushed him away and I started to walk but he spoke which made me stood there.

"Was that your boyfriend?"

I looked at him, "What?"

"The one you took at the party. The one who fought with you three days ago" I gulped and held myself from telling him the truth. "Tell me, Hayley. Who the hell is he?"

"What do you care about my life? Go home and never cross my path again!" I spat and ran away from him. My blood boiled with anger, my heart is slamming against my chest. How dare he asked me things as if he was so concern after what he did to me? I hate my brother more than anyone knows.

He took what should be mine. My dad promised me to have it, but my brother took hold after my dad died. Now, I'm crawling about thinking on how to take his place.

But my inner self tells me that I must keep him close because, to be honest, I need him too. Now that he told me that I'm in a grave danger. They will never stop until they get what they want.

And that is me.
