A/N: Ahhh I go back to school in two days ima lose my shit😭 might as well update before school starts so enjoy

Eddie's POV"Damn it," I cursed under my breath, "Always at the worst moments..." I quickly rushed to go get the door.

I was slightly annoyed with whoever was knocking for ruining the moment, especially when I was about to kiss Gaege. Although the soft pink blush blooming on his cheeks when I leaned in was noticeable. He liked me. I knew it.

I opened the door, instantly being met with a hand clamping over my mouth. With shock and surprise, I let out a muffled yell, trying to figure out what was going on.

"Quiet!" The person whispered urgently, "Unless you want me to turn you in!" I was pulled outside, feeling the door shut behind me. I pulled the person's hand away from my mouth in disgust, "What the hell do you want?"

The person in front of me had dark hair and eyes, making me shiver when he furrowed his eyebrows at me. "Eduardo..." The man scoffed, making me raise an eyebrow. "How do you know me?" I asked him, taking a cautious step back.

"Oh, I know everything about you," He told me, walking towards me, "Especially about your little secret that happened a few years ago." I kept taking steps back until my back pressed against the wall, making me gasp.

"Get away from me before I call the cops!" I began to say before I saw him pull a piece of paper from his coat.

"Remember this?" He asked me, making me stop to scan the paper. It had my name and picture from when I was in high school, including all my information. I hadn't seen that document in years, and even the sight of it made me fearful.

"Where did you get that?!" I tried to yank the paper away from him, but his reaction was faster. "I have my sources," The now intimidating man stuffed the paper away again, making me stare in shock at him. I swallowed a lump in my throat, knowing that I was trapped.

"I'll make you a deal, Eduardo," He told me in a low voice, "You give me some information, and I won't leak your whole criminal record to the entire world." My heart was pounding as my mind raced for a way to get out of this mess.

The trauma and long forgotten memories came back to haunt me in a matter of seconds. The red and blue flashing sirens, my friends and their frantic, chaotic screams, the handcuffs wrapping around my wrist before my head slammed into the ground. The way my heart wrenched in my chest as I realized the man was holding the very thing I had so much trouble avoiding.

"And what if I disagree?" I challenged him, although I didn't like the knowing smirk he flashed at me.

"Simple." He pushed me against the wall unexpectedly, grabbing me by the collar as I had the air knocked out of me.

"If you don't agree to help me, then I'll destroy everything you own. I'll leak your criminal records online, and we both know how bad that will be." He said to me as I struggled to free myself from his iron tight grasp, "I'll make you lose your job, your friends, your boyfriend."

I couldn't answer, only stared in shock as my mind raced. I knew that I had no choice but to agree to what he wanted. "Fine," I glared, "What the hell do you want?"

"I want you to find me certain people," The man explained to me, "People with certain... abilities."

Confused, I raised an eyebrow, not believing what he was saying. "Abilities?" I scoffed, "Do you think I'm stupid?"

"Oh no, but you've never seen abilities like these," He said, a knowing gleam in his eyes, "People that can read minds. Control objects with their mind. They're different and extremely dangerous."

"Dangerous? Dangerous how?" I began asking before his watch went off. He didn't answer my questions, only shook his head.

"Report to me every night," The man told me, shoving a number into my hand, "If you see anyone or suspect anyone, let us know. Don't tell anyone or we will leak your entire criminal record."

"We?" I said to myself quietly, wondering who he was referring to. But just as quickly as he came, he left.I hurried back into my apartment, still unable to keep my hands from trembling. I fixed my collar before heading to the living room, only to see Gaege asleep on the couch.

He looked so peaceful, so... happy. I didn't want to wake him up, especially after what had happened. I had the strong urge to warn him, tell him everything that the man had told me, but I knew he probably would never believe me. Let alone, I would've hate to drag him into my own messes.

I slipped my arms under his waist and legs before picking him up carefully, putting the blankets to the side and switching off the TV. I began to blush when he snuggled into my chest with a soft sigh. His arms wrapped around my neck, and I held him closer to me.

I set him down gently on my bed, putting the warm blanket over him. I still couldn't get the image of the man out of my head. I pulled out the paper with the phone number on it with a frown.

"I want you to help me find certain people. People with certain... abilities."

Abilities... But who do I know has "abilities"? It seemed impossible, crazy even.

I looked back up at Gaege, who let out soft breaths as he hugged my pillow. I should probably tell him. No, but then I would have to explain my criminal record. It was probably best if he didn't know.

"They're different and... extremely dangerous."
