Chapter 29: Todays the day

Maddy's pov

We pulled into the courthouse parking lot. I could feel my nerves kicking in. I did not want to be here:/

This whole thing was bullshet.. Like if he didn't like women then why the Fuxk would he get another girlfriend??

He pisses me off:/

Calum parked the car and we both got out making our way to the front of the courthouse.

He opened the door going in first as I followed close behind.

We made our way to our seats and sat down.

The girl from the grocery store came in minutes later sitting down beside me.

"Thanks for coming" she whispered shyly.

I gave her a small smile and nodded.

Calum put his hand on my thigh as he traced circles on my leg with his thumb.

I put my head on his shoulder as I waited for the cops to bring in Mark.

Next thing I knew the doors opened and in walked Mark with two cops, one on each side of him.

He made his way to his seat across from ours.

"This court session will now began" The judge stated.

He read the papers he had and then looked up at me

"Maddy right?" He asked

I nodded

"Please come up to the stand" he stated.

Calum gave me a reassuring look and I got up making my way to the front of the courthouse.

I sat at the witness stand

"So we are here today because you felt Ms. Green here was being a victim of abuse? Is that right?" He questioned me.

I nodded "yes sir"

"Why did you think that?" He asked curiously.

"Because Mark said she was going to regret looking at us when they got home.. Something he's said to me before" I became quiet.

"What do you mean he said to you before? Were the two of you ever in a relationship?" He questioned.

"Yes.. For years. He.. He would say things like that and I would get the consequence later on that day" I told the judge, trying my best not to look at anyone, especially Mark.

"What do you mean by consequence?" The judge asked.

"A beating.. Or if he was feeling nice just one punch" I replied looking at my hands.Memories filled my mind as I remembered everything Mark had ever done to me.

I couldn't cry not In front of everyone..

I couldn't let Mark see that I was upset or scared.

Then he would feel accomplished.

"So you're saying Mark beat you regularly?" He questioned, breaking me from my thoughts.

"Yes sir.." I said quietly.

I could feel Mark glaring at me from across the room.

"Do you have any witnesses to these beatings?" He questioned me.

"Calum witnessed the beginning of One of them" I stated and nodded.

"Are you Calum?" The judge questioned Calum.

"Yes sir" Calum nodded, looking at him.

"Can you tell me what happened that exact day, Calum?"

"Yes.. I was at the mall and I happened to come across Maddy and Mark. When I walked past them I heard Mark's fist colliding with Maddy's face. I luckily was there to get him off her and I took her home with me." Calum went on explaining everything.

"Is this true?" He questioned me.

"Yes" I nodded.

"So you called the cops because you were worried about Ms. Green here and you wanted justice for the both of you?" The judge looked at me for my answer.

"Yes sir.. I just want him to get what he deserves. For both of us." I sighed.

He nodded

"You can go back and sit in your seat again. Ms. Green can you come up to the stand please." He insisted.

I sat back in my seat and Calum put his hand on mine.

I looked up at him and gave him a small smile before looking up at the girl.

"Ms. Green.. May I call you by your first name?" The judge began.

She nodded shyly.

"Olivia, can you please describe your relationship with Mark"

"Like how long we've been dating and such?" She said questioned.

I could tell she was afraid of Mark.

"Yes everything and anything"

"Well I met Mark about a month ago at a coffee shop near his place. He seemed really nice and sweet.. I thought we hit it off pretty well but as soon as we began dating I seen the real side to him... He became evil.. He began yelling at me a lot and soon afterwards he began beat  me when I didn't listen or do what he wanted me to do"

She looked down and I saw a tear slide down her cheek

"He made me feel so worthless.."

I couldn't look at her anymore. She was breaking and I knew what she was going through.

I looked over at Mark from the corner of my eye.

He was sitting there as if he didn't feel bad about anything he had done.

"I'm sorry to hear that Olivia.. I can tell this is a rough subject for you. I won't have you up here for much longer ok?" The judge said.

"I just need to know one last thing. Has Mark ever mentioned Maddy to you? In any way" he asked.

"Yes.. A few times he's mentioned how I was acting like her and needed to act like a real woman.. One who wasn't a baby when it came to getting a little beating" she sighed looking down at her hands.

"Ok thank you Olivia.. You may go back to your seat"

She got up and came back to where Calum and I were seated.

I put my hand on her shoulder and told her she did good.

She gave me a small smile and thanked me.

"Lastly I need to speak to Mark" the judge told us.

Mark got up and made his way to the stand with a cop holding each arm.

He sat down and looked at us.

God I hated him.

"Mark..." The judge began but Mark interrupted him.

"What's up man?" Mark asked smiling at him.

The judge ignored his comment and continued.

"Have you ever considered harming another human being?" The judge asked him.

"Yes sir but only because they were pissing me off" he told the judge.

"So would you say Maddy and Olivia have pissed you off quite a bit?" The judge said questioned.

"Yes but I never would hit a woman"

God was he a motherfuxking liar:/

"I mean I'll admit I don't really like women but i would never hit one. They couldn't take it" he acted all tough.

Man he pissed me off

"Is that so?" The judged questioned him.

"Come on judge you know damn straight girls are wimps. They can't do shet. They are useless. I don't even know why we have them"

I looked over to see Calum ready to beat the shet out of Mark.

I tried to calm him down the even tho I was in the same situation.

Pretty sure everyone was ready to beat his ass.

The judge didn't even bothering asking Mark anymore questions.

"Alright that's all you can go Mark" he stated.

Mark went back to his seat and the jury talked it out.

The were only gone for a good 5 minutes.

"So what has the jury decided?" The judge asked them.

"We find Mark guilty. He will have to spend 1 year" the man stated from his seat in the jury.

My eyes widened

We did it...

Mark finally got what he deserved..

I couldn't be any happier

All of the sudden a felt arms wrap around my waist and someone pick me up and swing me around.

I looked up to see Calum.

"We did it Maddy" he smiled.

Well there's chapter 29! Hope y'all like it:) sorry I haven't updated in awhile I'm on vacation but I promise I'll be back at it again soon:)
