~Chapter Four~

It was around lunch and almost time for cole to pick you up. You wondered if this was a date or if Cole was just merely hanging out with you as a friend. Probably as a friend. You put on your shoes and went downstairs. Your parents were gone again so you had to make sure, 'Cookie' your dog was gonna be okay home alone. You filled his bowls, one with water and the other with food. You heard the doorbell rang and said goodbye to cookie then went for the door. You opened to door to see Cole smiling at you.

"Hey Chloe! Ready to go?" He asked you and you smiled and nodded as you locked the door behind you. "So where are we going?" You asked him as you two got on his blaster bike. "Cheesecake factory!" He said as he started the engine and drove off to Ninjago city. "YES! Haha this is why we're friends!" You say even though in both your heads you two wish you could be more. Cole revved the engine and the bike went faster. You wrapped your arms around Cole tighter trying not to fall off.

Cole loved it when you did that, his heart raced faster then his bike could drive. You also loved when you hugged Cole tighter. You'd blush hard and get to rest your head on his back. Something about his cologne that he has on smelt pretty good. Finally you two made it in front of the Cheesecake Factory and Cole parks his bike. You frown because you have to let go of Cole now. You let go of him and you two hop off his bike. You two enter the restaurant and the waiter shows you two your seats. You sit in front of Cole and Cole sits in front of you.

The waiter hands you two your menus and leaves giving you two enough time to choose. You look through the menu almost drooling as you saw all the many food choices, including desserts like cheesecake. "Cole I can't decide! Too many choices!" You say and he chuckles. "I know right! And they expect people to eat all this!" He replies. You two take at least 5 minutes before finally telling the waiter what you two want.

As you two wait for your food the first few minutes were a little awkward to you. You were a little shy and Cole was staring at you. You had to look down and blush because you didn't want to get lost in his eyes staring back. Cole just couldn't take his eyes off you, you amazed him. You bit your lip and looked up, pushing some strands of hair out of your face. You breathed in and and out trying to calm down the butterflies in your stomach and talked.

"So! Uh, is it cool that I hang out with you guys at your monastery tomorrow?" You asked him. Cole broke out of his stare, "Uh yeah sure! You can stop by anytime!" Cole says to you. "Same thing with my house. But only around the afternoon, that's when my parents leave for work. But yeah come by when you want! Just knock." You tell him with a smile. Finally the food came and you two were practically drooling over the delights. You two talked and ate and you were really enjoying yourself.

When you two were done eating you two couldn't leave with out a bite of a cheesecake. You two shared a big slice of Red Velvet Cheesecake. After you two enjoyed the dessert, Cole paid for the bill then you two went back to his blaster bike. "Thanks for that." You said as you hopped on his bike with him. "No problem! I had fun." Cole said as he started the engine then drove off. Ever since that day you and Cole hanged out everyday. It had been a week since you've met him and befriended him.

And as you hanged out with him you began to know more about him and the ninja. He was a pretty bad cook, Zane cooks with a pink apron, Jay talks too much, Kai is a hothead, and Lloyd likes to prank people. And every time you hung out with Cole you fell for him harder. And little did you know, Cole felt the same about you. Cole really wanted to ask you out but he felt so stupid! Every Time he tried he'd get nervous and fail. Or sometimes the things he says just sounded really dumb.

It was 11:00 at night and your parents were having another fight. You couldn't sleep, it was being a racket downstairs. Cookie even came upstairs because he was frightened even though he's supposed to be their therapy dog. You heard glass crash downstairs and you got startled. That was new.

They never broke anything or threw anything when they fought. You had to get out of here before one of them blame it on you. You carried cookie and snuck downstairs. You saw your dad try to throw a plate at your mom and you tried to hold back tears but you escaped through the front door.

You ran to the backyard and let cookie sleep in his dog house outside. You sat on the swings and hugged yourself trying to stop yourself from crying. You swung yourself back and forth slowly, enjoying the cool night air. You looked around the dark backyard and swore you saw something move somewhere.

You looked again then felt wind pass you by. You were getting scared and hugged yourself on the swings tighter, hoping you'd be okay. You looked up at the dark area by the fence and saw gold shimmering a little bit.

You almost fell off the swings when you saw Cole in his ninja Gi step out of his spot and into a brighter spot. "Woah! Chloe calm down its me!" He says to you as he pulls his ninja hood back. You sigh in relief then gesture for him to sit on the swings next to you.

He sat next to you and you two slowly swung back and forth. "Why are you wearing your Gi at this time of night?" You asked him. "Night mission. I just came back from it. We were passing by your house so I thought I stop by and check on ya. What are you doing out here?" He said

You hugged Cole tightly and cried in his chest. He shushed you and rubbed your back. "M-my parents...their G-getting worse." You sobbed. "What's going on in there?" "T-their throwing things at each other A-and I'm worried that they m-might get me." "Chloe your 19 years old, you need to move out!"

"I want to B-but my job doesn't pay me enough for a house or at least an apartment." "Then move in with me!" "Cole it's okay, but this is something I have to deal with on my own. But thank you." You tell him as you stopped crying and gave him a small smile.

Cole understood you and hugged you tight. "I'm always here for you if you ever need anything." He tells you with a smile. "Thanks. I just wonder if it'll be safe for me to go back inside." "Let's just stay out here. Together. You can go back in when its morning." Cole told you. You smiled and leaned against his chest and slowly drifted off to sleep. Cole was now determined to find a way to tell you that he liked you. He just really hoped that you would like him back.

The next day you two woke up on the swings in the backyard. "Ready to go inside?" Cole asks you and you sigh and nod yes. You lead the way to the front door and you opened it. "Guess my parents slept upstairs. But thanks again Cole." You said with a smile. "Yeah sure! So you want me to stay till your parents wake up?" Cole asked just making sure you'll be okay.

"No that's okay. Like I said last night, this is something I have to deal with on my own." You tell him with a reassuring smile. Cole sighs then smiles back. "Okay, well you know where I'll be! Bye Chlo." Cole says as he exits the doorway. "Bye Cole!" You say then close the door.

Later that day at the monastery. "Chloe, I'm gonna punch you in the mouth!...with my own mouth....softly....because I like you..." Cole says nervously. "Aww Cole! I think you're THE STUPIDEST GUY I EVER MET!" "GEE I'M SORRY JAY BUT I DON'T KNOW COULD YOU ACT LIKE CHLOE MORE FOR THIS TO ACTUALLY WORK!"

"CUT! THAT'S IT I CAN'T WORK IN THESE CONDITIONS! AND WHY DO I HAVE TO WEAR THIS STUPID WIG AND DRESS!?" Jay said with folded arms. "Guys stop! This is just practice! And Jay has a point Cole, ARE YOU PURPOSELY TRYING TO GET HER TO HATE YOU!!" Kai yells. "I'M ACTUALLY TRYING HERE GUYS! I THOUGHT YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO HELP ME OUT!" Cole yells back

"Brothers! Please stop! We are not getting anywhere with this! If we want to help Cole then we mustn't bring him down but bring him up!" Zane says. Everyone stops talking and relaxes. "Wait where is Lloyd?" Zane asks. "He's not really into stuff like this." Kai explained and Zane did an understanding nod.

Just then Nya passed by the door then walked by it again, looking at the ninja. "Jay why are you wearing my dress?" She asks. Jay blushes and takes the girl wig off. "Um uh Nya I can explain!" "Do I wanna know." Nya says then walks away. Jay leaves the room and runs after her.

"Seriously guys! I really like Chloe and I wanna tell her that! But I don't know how!" Cole sighs then sits down in a chair. "Hey, we'll help you out. Like iron sharpens iron, brother sharpens brother." Kai says with a smile. "Let's try again, instead of just telling us how you think you'd do it, why not try just telling how you feel about her then concluding with an I like you." Zane suggested. "Yeah why not! Okay pretend I'm Chloe. Jay made a terrible Chloe let's admit that." Cole got up and looked Kai in the eye.

He sighed, "Chloe, ever since I met you I've had feelings for you. Your different and I like that. I always wished our hang outs would actually be going outs. I just wanna be the guy that will be there for you no matter what. Sure, we may be two different worlds but that's what can bring us together! Chloe...I-i like you and I really hope you feel the same about me." Kai and Zane gasped in surprised.

"You did it Cole! That was perfect!" Kai cheered. "100% out of 100% perfect! You are ready to admit feelings to her!" Zane says. Cole cheered and hugged the two ninja. "That's great! Thanks guys! I couldn't have done this without you! All I need now is a perfect place to tell her how I feel!" "I think I know just the place." Zane says giving a wink to Kai.
