Chapter 40: Good morning class

The moment he entered the classroom every single of his classmates bar Uraraka charged him.

"G-guys?" Deku asked a little in shock. Suddenly a huge muscular figure was stood in front of him protecting him from harm.

"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU ALL!?" Uraraka screamed furious with her classmates for how they'd treated her boyfriend.

"Young Uraraka. I'll handle this" All Might warned. He understood her frustrations but there was no need to turn this into a shouting match.

"Get out of my way All Might I'm gonna kill him!" Bakugo yelled taking another step forward.

"Anyone that wishes to pick a fight with young Midoriya will have to go through me first" All Might warned. That was enough for most of the class to reconsider and back off but not Bakugo or Todoroki.

"I said get out of my way! I'm gonna fucking kill him!" Bakugo screamed itching to fight Deku. Uraraka tensed up ready to fight him and defend her boyfriend. Her fists began to clench except one hand was still holding Deku's so she was squeezing it hard although he didn't seem to notice it.

"Ochako..." Deku whispered. She looked at him and to his surprise he was smiling reassuring her everything was ok and under control. The moment she looked into those wonderful green eyes her body completely relaxed and her fist unclenched itself.

Why is he so cute?

"You mean like you did in training?" All Might asked Bakugo and Todoroki who were still slowly walking towards him. Hearing this they both stopped dead in their tracks.

"All Might you piece of shi-" Todoroki began but he was cut off.

"Shutup both of you. All of you sit down already unless you want a repeat of yesterday" Mr Aizawa warned. Bakugo and Todoroki looked their homeroom teacher then to Deku then to All Might then back to Deku before deciding maybe it wasn't a good idea to pick a fight with them right now especially considering they still had some injuries that were healing from yesterday.

"Fine" they both said in unison taking their seats along with the rest of their classmates. Nobody however took their eyes off Deku.

Well this isn't weird at all. Why is All Might here anyway?

"Uraraka I said sit down" Mr Aizawa ordered.

"What about Deku sir?" she asked noticing he was only telling her to sit down and not her boyfriend.

"Sit down" he said more firmly this time. A final warning.

"Yessir" she said not taking any chances and letting go of Deku's hand. As she walked to her seat she gave him a look that said "no idea" as both of them were just as confused as each other. Once she'd taken her seat Mr Aizawa decided to explain what was going on.

"Midoriya come here" Mr Aizawa ordered gesturing for Deku to join him at the front of the class.

"Yessir" Deku replied before nervously walking over to his teacher and standing in front of his entire class. All of whom never once took their eyes off of him. All Might followed closely behind him and joined him at the front of the class. Deku just looked at Uraraka who tried to give him a reassuring smile but the truth was she had no idea what was happening.

"Does anyone want to hazard a guess why Midoriya is stood up here with us?" Mr Aizawa asked.

"Because he's an asshole" Kaminari mumbled.

"You wanna say that a little louder Kaminari?" Mr Aizawa asked in a threatening manner.

"No sir" Kaminari replied regretting his words.

"Thought so. Really nobody knows? Did he hit you that hard?" Mr Aizawa asked rubbing salt in their wounds.

"Because he demonstrated exactly what a hero should be" Uraraka said earning a though disapproving grunts and groans from her classmates.

"Exactly right Uraraka" Mr Aizawa replied.

"WHAT!?" the whole class other than Uraraka screamed in protest.

"All of you shutup before I give Midoriya permission to take you all out again" Mr Aizawa threatened. That was enough to get them to be silent.

"Sir. Forgive me but in the end Midoriya forfeited the match. That doesn't seem like something a hero would do" Iida pointed out. He, Kirishima and Jiro were equally as annoyed at Deku as everyone else was. One because of the way he'd humiliated their fellow classmates even if they had agreed with All Might that that was what it takes to be a hero sometimes. Two he'd pretty much won the exercise and he forfeited it costing them a victory. It was only training but even still they were fuming that Deku had surrendered their win just because he felt he'd already done his part and didn't need to do anything more. He hadn't given them a choice in the matter.

"Yeah man you threw away our victory" Kirishima chimed in.

"Agreed" Jiro added. Hearing this Deku got a little annoyed and had only one thing to say to them.

"Our?" he asked his expression becoming one of annoyance.

"Yes OUR victory. We were a team man!" Kirishima protested.

"Kirishima that's enough" Mr Aizawa warned.

"No it's ok sir I've got this one" Deku replied his eyes locking onto his red haired friend.

"Very well Midoriya. Say what you want to say" Mr Aizawa allowed it seeing where this was going. He knew Deku was going to say exactly what he was.

"It was never OUR victory at all Kirishima. There was no WE. Just me" Deku said staring him down.

"Midoriya how dare you!" Iida protested but Deku instantly shut him down.

"How dare I? How dare you! The 3 of you were long gone by the time I single handedly won! In the rules of the exercise you were dead! Meaning if it had been a real battle you were dead! I was on my own! I won alone! Even when you were in the fight still you were following MY plan! I did everything for myself! How dare you be so goddamn disrespectful! I told you! I told all 3 of you to focus! To not get caught up in the small victory of finding and capturing our targets! I warned you that we weren't done yet! Clearly none of you listened because moments later you were eliminated and you would've seen those mines if you had been paying attention! You lost! You were defeated! I won! I earned a victory! Not you!" Deku screamed getting angry with his team's sense of entitlement. His words seemed to sink in however as their expressions and body language had completely changed. They were all looking down at their feet now instead of at Deku seemingly regretting their behaviour.

"Midoriya. I apologise. You're right. Not one of us deserved a victory except you. Please forgive me" Iida said standing up to bow.

"Yeah what he said man. I'm so sorry" Kirishima apologised also standing up to bow.

"I'm not gonna bow but yeah same here. Sorry Midoriya" Jiro apologised. That was enough for Deku he just wanted to hear them apologise.

"It's ok guys I forgive you" he said much to their relief. Iida and Kirishima sat back down.

"Good now that's out of the way let's talk about the battle yesterday" Mr Aizawa stated.

"Sir do we have to?" Deku asked. He didn't like where this was going.

"Yes we do. Because as of right now Midoriya is the number 1 student in UA" Mr Aizawa stated as if it was nothing. The whole class stared at the green haired boy in amazement and bewilderment.

"Sir...what the fuck?" Ashido asked.

"Excuse me Ashido?" Mr Aizawa asked in a threatening manner hearing her swear.

"S-s-sorry forget I said anything" she replied.

"I will. Yes Midoriya is officially UA's number one student. Above the big three and they're not too happy about it but I'll get to that later" Mr Aizawa informed them.

Oh no even the big three are mad at me? I'm completely screwed.

"Why the hell is he the number 1!?" Bakugo questioned furious that Deku was officially better than him.

"Oh because you put up such a good fight yesterday didn't you?" Uraraka said sarcastically reminding him that Deku had defeated him in one hit.

"Watch your mouth round face! Just remember who you're talking to!" Bakugo yelled at her.

"Not the number 1 student at UA that's who I'm talking to. You're not even in the top 4 nevermind first" Uraraka said laughing. Kirishima and Jiro also began laughing with her. The rest of the class was still too angry with Deku to enjoy her joke and were still staring at him at the front of the class. Iida on the other hand chuckled a little but kept his composure worried she'd angered the blonde.

"THE FUCK DID YOU SAY BITC-" Bakugo began but suddenly Deku was stood in front of him making him stop.

"Kacchan. Do you remember what I did to you the last time you called Ochako a bitch?" Deku asked reminding him of how hard he'd put him down in training yesterday.

"Fuck you too nerd! You're not better than me!" Bakugo yelled refusing to accept his new reality. Deku was stronger than him. By a long shot.

"The lump on the back of your head says otherwise" replied Deku grinning a little.

"I...you...I should... whatever!" Bakugo gave in knowing Deku had the beating of him.

"Does anyone else wish to challenge Midoriya?" Mr Aizawa asked.

"Yes!" The whole class other than Uraraka replied.

"Even you 3? I thought you'd made up?" Mr Aizawa asked looking at Kirishima, Jiro and Iida.

"We have. It's just we really want to fight him sir. We all need a challenge" Iida replied.

"Yeah I wanna see if 19 of us can beat him" Kirishima replied.

"18" Uraraka corrected him excluding herself from this. She knew it was pointless. They could put every single student in UA against him besides the big three and he'd still probably win with the amount of power he has.

"So basically what you're saying is you all want to spend the night concussed in Recovery Girl's office again?" All Might asked sarcastically knowing the result would be the same.

"We can take him!" Sero replied.

"Enough all of you. None of you will be fighting Midoriya until I personally think you're ready for it. However with that being said Midoriya put your hero costume on" Mr Aizawa ordered.

"Sir?" Deku questioned confused.

If I'm not fighting anyone in my class then who am I fighting?

"Oh yeah I should probably have mentioned that you're fighting again today Midoriya" Mr Aizawa said realising he hadn't pointed that out yet.

"Against who?" Deku asked. Mr Aizawa couldn't help but smile at him.

Well that's not absolutely terrifying as usual.

"Remember how I said the big three aren't happy about you outranking them?" Mr Aizawa asked.

"Yeah what about it?" Deku returned his question with one of his own confused what this had to do with them.

"Well they want proof. So today Midoriya you're going to battle against them in the arena. Alone" Mr Aizawa informed him. His entire class cheered in the hopes that Deku was about to get a beat down of his own. All of them except Kirishima, Iida, Jiro and Uraraka. In fact Uraraka's heart stopped for a brief moment as she stared in disbelief at her boyfriend who looked petrified at what he'd just heard.

I wonder what's going through his head right now...
