20: Happiness is Expensive

Jeongyeon

I was getting dizzy by how much of an alcohol we had for the past hours. We've been drinking since noon until now that it's evening.

I promised myself that I wouldn't drink too much since it's ny wedding tomorrow, but I guess even the promise that you made to yourself was meant to be broken.

This was like a bachelor's party according to Tzuyu and Chaeyoung. But how can it be a bachelor's party when it's just the three of us?

We're currently at an exclusive bar here in Switzerland. Nayeon dreamed to get married in this country so that's why we're here.

"Hi baby, can you pick me up?" Tzuyu said on the phone, probably talking to her girlfriend—Sana.

The phone wasn't on speaker but we can hear how Sana was yelling at her on the other line. Me and Chaeyoung laughed at that.

We were both having fun on teasing Tzuyu when both of our phones rang at the same time, flashing my fiancé and her wife.

The smile on our faces fade away and it was Tzuyu's turn to tease and laugh at us. We immediately grabbed our phone to answer the call.

I cleared my throat before pressing the green button on my screen to answer Nayeon's call.

"Hey love." I sweetly said hello to lessen her anger.

/You're sure having fun huh?/

"We're going home right now."

/How?! Tzuyu said none of you can even drive!/

I felt my eardrums explode after she shouted on the phone. Tzuyu is still on the fit of laughing.

"Uhmm. Taxi?"

/Forget it. We're on our way to pick you up./

I was about to retort when she hung up. I turned to look at the two, Chaeyoung was already sipping on a strawberry shake while Tzuyu lie down on the bar's couch, still laughing.

"Did Mina shouted at you too?" I asked the calm Chaeyoung after taking the call from her wife.

"No." She chuckled and tapped my shoulder. "Mina isn't like that. Mina never shouts." She said like a caveman. This girl sure is drunk.

This is the first time that Chaeyoung drank alcohol again after her surgery last year. Mina and her got married last month, just a simple wedding in Mina's hometown, Japan.

They were happy, really happy. Especially now that Chaeyoung is completely healthy.

I tried to sober myself by having some coffee from the vending machine outside the bar. I have to atleast look presentable infront of Nayeon if I don't want to get yelled at.

We came out of the bar because it was starting to get filled with people, since it was nine in the evening.

A van pulled out infront of us, Nayeon, Mina and Sana got off. Sana pulled Tzuyu by the ear to get her inside the van while Mina even supported Chaeyoung in every step, on the way inside the van.

I was expecting the worse from Nayeon but instead she asked me a question that left my mouth agape.

"You didn't cheat on me while you're drinking there right?" Her arms are crossed while she stood there straight infront of me. Looking so serious.

I was supposed to be serious too and deny it but I can't help but to laugh at her. Her brows furrowed as she pinched me on the side.

"Ouch, ouch, ouch! Love, it hurts!" I complained as I continued to laugh at her. I ran away and she started to ran after me as I circle around the van.

"Is it funny huh?!" She continuously said everytime she lands a slap on my back or on my arms.

I stopped on running and just held both of her hands mid air that was about to land on my body again.

"I didn't cheat on you. I swear." I chuckled and kissed her forehead.

"You better." She then forcefully pulled both of her hands to grab me on the collar and drag me to the van.

The other girls just shook their head by the way that we treat each other. Very not so ideal of a couple that's supposed to get married tomorrow.

"Are you nervous?" My father asked as he fixed my coat. Me and Nayeon agreed that I'll be wearing a suit on our wedding day.

"Of course Appa. Who wouldn't be nervous on her wedding day?" I honestly said to him.

"Your right. By the way, I met your in laws. They're very nice." He said with a smile on his face.

"I'm happy you're getting along with them." I sincerely said and gave him a genuine smile.

"Unnie it's time to go." Tzuyu popped out of the door. I nodded and stood up to follow her.

This is it Jeongyeon, it's your wedding day.

I stood up and took a major breath out to gain some confidence from the air. You can do it Jeongyeon, walk confidently out there.

We made our way out of my room and gone to the Tunnel Mountain Reservoir in Banff. It's just a walking distance from the accommodation that we picked.

We chose to get married here because it's summer, and this is Switzerland so why not?

The place was surrounded with mountains, there was an arch at the end of the aisle where we'll exchange our bows. The place is beautiful all in all, just like a fairytale.

I started to walk along with my father beside me. When we reached the end I stood at the side waiting for my bride to come, while Appa took his seat in front.

Our friends started to walk one by one, starting with Mina and Chaeyoung, followed by Momo and Heechul and then my sister Tzuyu and her girlfriend Sana.

And then my best man came, Daniel. It was supposed to be Tzuyu but her and Sana is too inseparable, so she rejected the offer. Dumb bitch.

Moving on, Dahyun was the next on the line where she walks along with her new boyfriend, a detective—Cha Eunwoo. The one who works with Chaeyoung at the Prosecutor's Office.

They were followed by Jihyo who is carrying a small bouquet, she was Nayeon's bridesmaid. Then Nayeon's parents started to walk in, stopping midway to wait for their daughter.

And now, the highlight of the most wonderful day of my life. The part where my bride will walk in.

Everything was in slow motion as I saw my Nayeon walk in her simple white dress carrying a bouquet of white roses.

It was overwhelming to see my happiness making its way towards me. Walking to my way, meeting me at the end of the line, where our forever will not end—but begin.

She took the hands of her parents and they made their way to me. My eyes was fixated on my soon to be wife, mesmerized by her beauty that I will get to see everyday starting today.

"Stop staring Jeongyeon and take my hand." Father said and our guests laughed at it. I took his hand immediately and shook it. I then hugged Nayeon's mother.

Father then gave me Nayeon's hand, a sign that he's entrusting his daughter to me. I smiled at Nayeon as we both settled at the middle of the altar.

The clergy started the ceremony and it was now time to give our vows. Starting with Nayeon.

"Yoo Jeongyeon. We've been through so much heartbreaks and too much drama. So I want to keep this vow short and clear by promising you that I will love you through the ups and downs, no matter what. I love you so much."

She placed the ring on my finger. Perfectly fits, just like how we are to each other.

I breathed some air out before starting with my vow.

"Nayeon my love." I started and my friends cutted to tease me because of the cringeworthy endearment. I rolled my eyes at them and just tried to focus with the woman in front of me.

"I can't deliver into words how much you make me happy just by standing infront of me right now. Our love for each other is what led us here, and I will do my best to make that love flourish to take us into forever."

"The journey might not be perfect and the road might became bumpy. But one thing is for sure, I will stay by your side through thick and thins."

I ended my vow with that and our marriage is official as we ended and sealed the ceremony with a kiss along with our beating hearts, filled with happiness that we finally attained.

They said expensive things is more valuable when you worked hard to get it. And the happiness that we have is more valuable, knowing that we both worked so hard to finally have it. Because,

Happiness is Expensive.
