Chapter 20

I've been going with Camz to the foster care house every day for three months. I finally got to the point in life where I feel like my life is actually worth something.

I have two amazing best friends, a beautiful girlfriend and I've recently became extremely close with Mrs. Hernandez.

"Camzi why haven't we ever went on a real date? We've been together for a few months now." I look down at the tan girl who's laying on my chest.

"Because you haven't asked me out on a real date yet Lern Jergi." she replies as she sits up.

"Well then will you like to go out on a real date with me?" I ask the younger girl.

"Hmm.. I have to think about this." she teases and gets up.

"Where are you going?" I question. Camila and I have spent almost every day together. I refuse to let her go home on the weekends because I don't want her to see her father again.

"I'm going home silly.." she answers hesitantly.

"No you're not Camila. You don't know where your dad is. It's Saturday he can be at the house right now. I'm not going to let you go home and see someone that's just going to beat up on you!" I yell.

"Lauren he's my father and I haven't seen him in months! I miss him okay? He's the only family that I have." I look up at the younger girl and the pain in her voice kills me.

"Baby he is not the only family that you have. You have me, my family, Dinah, her family, Normani, Mrs. Hernandez, Tori and all of the kids in the foster care. We all care about you and none of us want to see you hurt. Would you let Tori go back to her father knowing what he did to her?" I question.

I know bringing Tori into this is a little low but I know that Tori is Camila's weak spot.

"No I wouldn't but she's still a kid Lolo I'm not." she pouts and I pull her onto my lap.

"I know that you can handle it but I don't want to see you hurt. Go on a date with me and let me take your mind off of things. Please?" I kiss her shoulder softly.

"Only because I really want to go on a date with you." The tan girl kisses my cheek and gets up again.

"I'm going to Dinah's so that she can help me get ready. Where is the date?" she asks and I think for a moment. I haven't actually given much thought to it.

"I can't tell you that, It's a surprise." I smile and kiss her head.

"Do you need me to drive you over to Dinah's?" I ask. In reality I just don't want her to drive there because I don't want her to stop by her house.

"Don't worry Lern jergi I promise I will drive straight to Dinah's house. I'm excited for this date and I don't want to ruin it with my dad. From this point on, neither of us mention him or any other topics that are sad okay? It's just me and you." Camz wraps her arms around my neck and brings her lips to mine.

"Okay I trust you." I kiss her softly.

"Good. I'll be ready by 7. Is that a good time for you?"

I nod and let the other girl go. "Perfect. Drive safely." I kiss her one more time before she walks out of the door and gets in her car.

I go straight across the street to my best friends house. I walk into the house without knocking.

"Hey Mrs. Hamilton." I smile at my second mama.

"Lauren sweetie how are you?" the older lady hugs me and I reciprocate it.

"I'm amazing. How are you?" I ask.

"I'm great. I'm running late for work though. Normani is upstairs you two girls have fun." Mrs. Hamilton kisses my head and walks out the door.

I walk upstairs and towards Normani's room.

"No I love you more... No way, you're the cutest.. No fair! I still love you more though.. Don't disagree with me.. Fine you're not getting laid for a week.." I hear Normani bickering on the phone with who I'm assuming is Dinah.

"You two make me sick." I walk into the door and Normani jumps up.

"God Lo don't you knock!" she yells and I laugh.

"You never knock. Tell Dinah that Camila is on her way because we have a date and she needs help." I sit on Normani's lap.

The darker girl pushes me off and laughs.

"Dinah baby, Mila is on her way. I love you." Normani blushes and I smile. I love seeing how happy Dinah and Normani make each other.

After Normani hangs up I tease her.

"I love you more snookiepoo.. No I love you more pookiebear.." I say in a mocking voice.

"Shut up this will be you and Camila whenever you two finally admit how you feel about each other. Seriously it's so obvious the two of you are crazy about each other yet you still haven't said the L word OR had sex." Mani exaggerates a little.

"It's been four months since we got together. I don't want to rush anything or scare her off." I admit.

"Camila isn't easy to scare off. So you two are finally going on a date tonight, where to?" the older girl questions.

"That's why I'm here, I have absolutely no clue. It's our first date I need it to be one that she would remember." I sigh.

"No matter where the two of you go it will be special to her because she L words you." Mani says but the only thing I focus on was her saying that Camila "L words" me.

"Camila does not 'L word' me." I reply even though I really wish she would.

"Whatever you say.. okay so I think you should go big. What girl doesn't love big?" the darker girl smirks.

"A gay one." I chuckle.

"I'm just saying Mila hasn't done much of anything and I'm sure she's never been on a date before. She loves music right? Take her somewhere that has to do with music. She would LOVE that. You might even get laid, finally."

Camila and I have gotten close to sleeping with each other but we never went all the way. It just never felt like the right time and I've always been scared that I would screw things up. I want to give her that part of myself because I can't imagine giving it to anyone else, it just terrifies to me give someone that kind of power over me.

"That's not why I want to take her out on a date though. I just want to do something to show her that I care about her." I look at Normani.

"I know and nothing says I care about you like a passionate orgasm." she jokes and I playfully slap her.

"I bet Dinah knows you care about her a lot then." I counter.

"Oh trust me she knows and she loves it." Mani laughs and I gag.

"Okay enough. Help me find something to wear." I sigh and Mani hops up.

"That is what I do best." she looks through her closet. We share clothes a lot because we are built the same and we're the same size.

"You should wear green because it really brings out the color of your eyes." she grabs a green dress and I look at her like she's crazy.

"Normani Kordei Hamilton you know me well enough to know that I am not wearing a green dress. Black makes my eyes pop out just as much." I cringe. The mere thought of wearing a green dress is definitely cringe worthy.

"You and the color black. Wear some color woman. You've joined the LGBT club, wear rainbow." she sighs and grabs me a black lace dress.

"This is definitely more like it." I smirk and try it on.

"Geez Lauren you do know that there is a bathroom right? I don't want to see you in your underwear." my best friend covers her eyes and I laugh.

"Stop being immature you know you love my body." I joke.

I know Normani and I have a friendship that isn't normal but normal is boring.

After about two hours it's finally 7 and I am so nervous. Camila makes me nervous because I care so much about her that I never want to do anything to jeopardize our relationship.

I take a deep breath and knock on Dinah's door. After a few moments a short lady opens the door.

"Uh.. Hi I'm Lauren." I reply nervously. This is my first time over Dinah's house meeting her family.

"Hey Lauren sweetie Camila is almost ready. Come in. I'm Milika, Dinah's mom, practically Camila's too." the shorter lady hugs me and I smile and hug back.

"It's nice to finally meet you." I reply.

"It's nice to meet you too. So tell me, what are your intentions with Camila?" she asks and my eyes widen a little. I was definitely not expecting to get questioned.

"Just to make her happy. She's really important to me I just want to make sure she knows that." I answer the respectful and honest response.

"Are you planning on having sex with her tonight?" she asks and I cough uncontrollably.

"Uh.. No..? This is a little awkward." I admit.

"I'm just fucking with you kid. Take care of my child okay? She's really nervous." Milika pats my shoulder just as Camila comes down the stairs.

When she comes my mouth drops open and I can't stop staring.

She's wearing a tight white dress with white high heels. The dress shows off her body perfectly and she is the most beautiful princess that I have ever seen in my life.

I feel so frozen in time as if no one is surrounding us and the only two people are Camila and I.

"Wow.. you look.. wow." I whisper.

I can't even put into words how beautiful she looks.

"You look wow too." the tan girl walks over to me and pecks my lips.

For some reason my knees got extremely weak and wobbly.

"Are you ready?" she asks and I just nod still unable to form words.

"Have fun girls." Dinah and Milika say at the same time.

"Thanks CheeChee. Thanks mami." Camz smiles and gives both ladies a hug and a kiss.

I smile big when I hear her call Milika 'mami'. Just knowing that at least she has a motherly figure makes me happy.

Once we get outside I open the car door for Camz.

"You're going to have to wear this." I whisper and hand her a blindfold.

"Oh someone is kinky." she jokes and I smile lightly.

"Baby what is wrong?" Camz looks at me and I look at her.

"Nothing, I just honestly can't think straight. You, Camila Cabello took my breath away when you came down the stairs. You are so beautiful and I just really care about you." I answer and the smile on my girlfriends face is the most rewarding thing of all.

"You're beautiful too Lern Jergi. You're the most beautiful girl in the world and you have the most beautiful eyes and heart and smile and face that I have ever seen and I really do care about you." she replies and my heart skipped about a million beats.

"Okay you've given me butterflies again. Just put on the blindfold and don't peek." I lean over and kiss the smaller girl as she puts on the blindfold.

"Are we going to reenact 50 shades of grey?" Camz jokes and I laugh hysterically.

"Keep dreaming." I wink and mentally slap myself when I realize that she can't see me.

After driving for almost an hour I park the car and open the door.

"Do you trust me?" I ask.

"More than anything.. Just don't chop my body up and throw me in a ditch." she laughs and I smile.

I walk the younger girl towards a building and take off the blindfold.

"Lolo what is this place?" Camz asks and I open the door for her.

"Well.. it's technically just a fancy restaurant." I reply a little shady.

I called the owner of this place because they're a close friend of my fathers. Every night there are singers who serenade about four hundred guest who come to hear music and eat.

This place is extremely expensive and very popular. I hope Camz doesn't kill me when I tell her that she's going to be singing tonight.

"This place is huge and beautiful. Thank you Lern Jergi, this is honestly incredible." Camila smiles and holds my hand.

"Just remember how incredible it is in about five minutes.." I whisper. I'm really starting to regret this because I know how much Camila hates to sing in front of others.

A hostess walks us over to our table and this place is even more crowded than I thought it would be.

"Fuck me.." I curse myself as I see the owner walking over to us.

"Lauren sweetie it's so good to see you! I was so glad when I heard from you. How's the old man?" the owner asks and I smile and hug him.

"He's doing well, he told me to tell you that you two need to catch up some time." I lie.

"Of course! This must be your girlfriend Camila? She looks even more beautiful than you described." he smiles and hugs Camila. She hugs back awkwardly and I feel my heart racing.

"So Camila are you nervous?" the old guy ask and I just stare at the ground.

"Uh.. yeah a little. This is actually our first date." Camz smiles and rubs my fingers gently with her thumb.

"That's amazing but I meant about your performance. I know that the crowd will absolutely love you." he smiles and I look at Camila and the expression on her face changed from smiling to looking like she wanted to cry.

"My what?" she asks and lets go of my hand.

"Surprise.." I try to feign excitement but that's not easy to do when Camila is looking at you the way that she is looking at me.

"Mr.. what is your name?" she asks the owner.

"Mr. Jonas." the old man answers.

"Mr. Jonas my girlfriend and I need a moment alone if that's okay." Camz smiles at him but I can tell she won't be smiling once he's gone.

"No problem, I can't wait to hear you perform tonight. Adios." he walks away and Camz looks at me sternly.

"Lauren Michelle Jauregui Morgado you better be fucking kidding me.. You did not sign me up to sing in front of all of these people! I can't do this!" she yells.

"I'm sorry, I didn't think it through but please do it for me.. You are so amazing and you have a voice that the world needs to hear. Just do one song for me okay?" I look into the younger girls eyes until she smiles.

"Only because I like you but you owe me big time.. I don't know what to sing." she leans her body into me and I hold her firmly.

"What's the first song that comes to your mind?" I ask.

"I got it. It's for you I hope you know that." she kisses me tenderly and I melt into her touch.

When she pulls away to perform I miss her touch desperately.

Camz walks up to the front and grabs the microphone, all eyes turn to her.

"Uhm hi. I'm Camila Cabello, I'm going to be singing a song for my beautiful girlfriend tonight. I think everyone here can relate to this, the feeling when you first start falling for someone and they make you feel things you've never felt before. The thing I love the most about music is that it allows you to express the things that you can't express yourself so this one is for you Lauren.

By the end of the song everyone is standing on their feet and some, like me have tears in their eyes.

I walk to the front just as Camila comes off of the stage and I pull her into my arms.

I bring our lips together as everyone in the crowd cheers.

I know that I must be blushing uncontrollably but it doesn't even matter at this point.

Hearing Camz sing this song to me, I feel so special and so lucky to have her in my life.

As we turn around to leave I bump into a girl and Camila's eyes nearly pop out of her sockets.

"Hey Camila right? From your song choice I think you know who I am." the girl that looks so familiar asks.

I look at Camz who's eyes are filling with tears.

Camz hugs the life out of the girl but she doesn't seem to mind. She reciprocates the hug and I won't lie I'm definitely getting a little jealous.

"I just wanted to say you did my song justice. That was the best cover I've ever heard, maybe even better than the original. I just started my own record label with a good friend of mine, his father owns this place actually. Anyway I hope I'll see you around again, though I have a feeling I will be. You should really send a demo to my record label. I would absolutely love to hear your voice again. It is by far one of the most beautiful and unique ones. I should get going but seriously Camila you were born for this and I would be honored to have you as my first artist." the girl hands Camila a card and then it hits me that this is Camila's idol.

The girl that helped her through so much. This is Demi fucking Lovato.

As soon as Demi walks away Camz turns to face me.

"Lolo did that really just happen?" she asks and I laugh, still extremely surprised in the way these events played out.

"Yeah Camz I think it did. Your idol just asked you to send her a demo and she said you sung her song better than the original." I repeat what Demi said.

Camila jumps in my arm and gives me the tightest hug I have ever been given in my life, and I loved every moment.

I wrap my arms around the smaller girl and smile.

"Now we can go eat." I laugh and walk the tan girl to our table. I pulled some more strings and made sure that we were sitting alone without a whole group of people surrounding us.

"Lauren honestly thank you for tonight. If you never made me get up and sing in front of all these people I really wouldn't have realized that this is what I was made for. Seeing people clap and cheer, seeing you watching me with that beautiful smile on your face, it makes me so happy. You make me so happy." she says and I can't wipe the smile off my face.

"Camz when I'm with you I have a goofy smile plastered across my face all the time. I don't know how you do it." I admit.

"Because I'm Camila Cabello duh silly." Camz winks and reaches across the table to grab my hand.

I willingly let her do so.

The rest of the date went by so quickly and before I knew it, it was half pass midnight and pouring raining.

"Camz there is no way I am driving in this, it's raining way too hard." I look at the rain that's falling down and the sound of lightning.

"Good, I don't want this night to end." Camila smiles and holds my hand.

"There's a hotel right across from here. If we run we shouldn't get too wet." I look across at the hotel that's across from here. It's not the fanciest hotel but it'll do."

"Maybe I like you wet." Camila smirks and runs across the street.

It takes me a moment to get her joke and I can't help but laugh. I am dating such a dirty minded lesbian.

I chase after her and grab her hips stopping her from entering the hotel. Camila lets out a beautiful laugh and I place my hand gently on her cheek.

"Kiss me you fool." I whisper.

"In the rain, how cliché and romantic." the younger girl brings her lips to mine and I kiss her.

Even though the rain is pouring down on us, the only thing I am focused on is my girlfriend and I realize just how much she means to me.

There is no one else I would rather be with, no one else can make me feel the way that she does.

I break the kiss and stare at the beautiful brown eyes of my girlfriend.

I gulp and whisper "Camz I'm ready."
