FLAMES BEGIN TO envelope around us. It was getting really muggy and warm in the room. Gregory and I wipe our foreheads from the sweat that begins to dampen our skin.
Large tentacles grow up from the floor and down from the ceiling. A small squeal escapes me as Gregory and I back into the wall.
"What the hell are those things?!" I ask nobody in particular. Nobody here really had an answer for it, so why did I bother to ask.
"I-I don't know," Gregory frowns in distress as one of the long arms taps around our feet. I feel disgust climbing up my throat as the thing touches me.
Freddy stands nearby as the glamrocks finally leave us alone, running in the opposing direction from the doors.
Loud footsteps pound into the floor. My brows furrow tightly, and I tilt my head.
A giant thing bursts through the wall. It looks disgusting. It towers over us, with a falling apart jaw, and withered body.
I scream out of habit, and Gregory jumps, startled. Freddy pushes us behind him as the large animatronic . . man? —makes a dramatic appearance in the room.
My eyes are wide, and my body grows stiff with fear. Gregory looks up at the thing with horror and some sort of determination in his eyes.
The thing nears us and I crouch behind Freddy, glaring up at the thing. I pull Gregory into my arms and he buries his head to my shoulder.
I know that suit.
As I stare into the burning eyes of the rotting corpse before me, more realization comes into play. That had to be the thing my mom told me about, from the old pizzeria that got taken down. One of the owners got stuck in a springlock suit.
It had to be Afton.
Something crawls out from the wiring in the ceiling, and stalks behind him. A little smirk wants to dance to my lips as I know what's coming next. I don't think that other animatronic wanted to hurt us . . He was after William.
A blood stained hand reaches out toward me, eyes still locked over Gregory and I. His head tilt slightly, jaw dropping and locking with any subtle movement. My features cringe with disgust and I curl further back into the wall as his hand reaches closer and closer to my skin.
"You'll get what you deserve." I grit my teeth up at him.
His head turns and he's soon grabbed by the blob of wiring, the animatronic blob's face plate opening up. Gregory, Freddy and I look at the disgusting blob of wiring taking the withered springtrap suit in its hold, and soon carries the body up into the ceiling.
I watch in horror and disgust as the man . . thing, struggles in the wiring's grasp. He grunts and groans, whimpering in dismay.
Our eyes lock, and he pleads in place for assistance.
"We need to go," Freddy takes ahold of my arm, and tugs me down the hall with Gregory. I snap myself from the daze I was in, and start to run, ripping away from our held stare on each other.
Flames were swallowing the hallways quickly. We needed to get to high ground fast— if it wasn't already torched.
My heart was in my throat. As we approach the stairs, something in the back of my mind starts to burn.
Sun.
"Come on!" I call to the two behind me as I begin coughing the smoke from my lungs."Keep up, you've got to move." My voice shakes in anxiety as I glance back to Greg and Freddy.
I need to get to the daycare before it gets worse.
Gregory coughs, keeping up with my heightened pace. Freddy was probably the fastest of all of us, but he stayed behind to keep Gregory safe.
I grab for Gregory's hand and we continue to run to the main floor. Stairwell after stairwell. Leg pain, and coughing, we finally make it.
The doors were open. It was past six a.m by now, I was sure. My mind was foggy and exhausted, though my body was still running on pure adrenaline. I knew I would crash hard soon, but until I was out of the building in one piece with Gregory and Sun at my sides, I wouldn't allow myself to fall. Not yet.
My eyes glance to the stairs as the fire begins to spread up to the higher levels. I swallow hard, brows furrowed.
Gregory notices me looking in the opposite direction of the doors, and frowns up at me.
"Y/N? Come on, we gotta go this way!" He whines. His voice was laced in terror. I didn't blame him.
We were swiped up in cuts, bruises, and now, ash. This night was one of the nights we'd never forget, and I could promise anybody that.
"Y/N, please, listen to us!" Freddy says. He frowns in distress as he stands in front of the doors to the building. I look back at them quickly, before taking my eyes up at the stairs again.
There would be enough time.
Sun was still in the building, as far as my knowledge allowed me to know. I had to get to him. Maybe I can get him out of here.
"No, I have to get Sun," I feel tears bottle up my vision.
The fire only gets worse from here. Flames begin to peak the corners nearing the stairs, and I inhale a deep breath of anxiety through the smoke.
"It's too dangerous! Leave him," Freddy says.
I ignore the bear, and run up the stairs like Sun's life depended on me. Which in this case, I guess it sort of did.
Through the top floor I run, avoiding every flame of hot heat that I can. Some parts were inevitable, leaving some bright burn marks on my arms.
I cough, waving the smoke out of my face.
"Y/N!" Gregory calls after me. He and Freddy now run up the stairs. I glare back at them. "Get the hell out of here now!"
"We're not leaving without you!" Gregory cries.
"And I'm not leaving without Sun," I call back. "So go." I continue to run. My legs were so tired. So weak.
I don't know how much longer I can keep running, but I'll force myself as long as I need to.
Gripping the metal door to the daycare entrance, I yank it up and open. My fingers burn in the process and I hiss out. Ignoring the pain, I run as fast as my legs can carry me down the hall as I make it into the daycare. It was torched.
My eyes widen. Panic sets in.
My heart was in my throat. Tears were clouding my vision, not only from fear, but from the irritation of smoke.
"Sun!" I scream out, looking desperately. "Moon?!"
Gregory and Freddy soon catch up to my trembling body. "Y/N, we can't stay any longer! We need to go, now!"
I continue to ignore their yells from the entry way.
My body rushes through the fallen boards, the broken play structures. I can't find him anywhere.
"Oh god, please Sunny! Answer me!" I cry out.
I block the flaming falling board from in front of me, and go around it while coughing. I wave the smoke from my face and squint through the flames. It was so hot in here.
I then see a lifeless body laying on the floor.
My eyes widen, and I rush to his side. Sun laid damaged mostly, wires ripped out from his arm, and some heat damage on his metallic body. His rays were halfway out. Some were completely retracted.
I drop to my knees and start crying harder. "Sun?" My voice cracks as I look down at him.
"Y/N!" Gregory calls out.
I stare down at the broken animatronic below me in a shock.
"No, no, no. Please, you can't be," I frown, grabbing at his face. I shake his body lightly and break down into sobs. "Wake up."
My head falls onto his boiling chest plate. His metallic body was so warm. I don't care, though. Nothing else matters right now.
My only bit of sunshine in this dark world was dimming right before my eyes.
"I'm so sorry," I whimper. "You guys mean everything to me. Please get up."
His body glitches a little, eyes opening. I feel his hand nudge my head. I lift my head from his chest and stare wide eyed. "Sun?"
"Y/N," his voice glitches horribly. It sounded like a melting mixture of him and Moon together.
"Oh god, I'm so sorry for everything." I cry down at him.
"It's okay." Sun's voice glitches again. "I-I know." His eyes burned a bright red like Moon's did. His hand reaches up and holds my cheek. Tears continue to slip down my face, and I break out into a coughing fit.
"I'm sorry, too." His voice shifts over to Moon's. "But you need to leave. It's not safe."
I frown and shake my head. "I love you." My voice breaks through my coughs. "You need to know that—" I gasp out for air. My lungs fill with more smoke, and I begin to cough again. A sting from the inside of my chest irritates me. My eyes were burning.
"I do." Sun's voice flips back.
I feel two hands grab my waist."Come on!" Freddy takes my body from behind, ripping me apart from Sundrop.
"No! Let me go!" I screech. I almost didn't recognize myself as I screamed for the celestial duo.
"Leave him! It's too late." Freddy's voice genuinely sounded angry. I didn't blame him for being mad.
I had no control over my body anymore. Freddy had lifted me up and thrown me over his shoulder. Tears flood down my cheeks as he runs me out of the daycare with Gregory at our side.
"No!" I shriek. My voice was hoarse and raw. "Put me down! I have to help him," my body began to weep. I couldn't help it. All I could do at this point was scream and cry like a child being ripped away from their favorite plush.
"I am so sorry." Freddy tells me.
Freddy was just too strong for me to break free from. I struggled, kicked, twisted my body until I couldn't feel. It was all no use.
"We need to go or else we'll end up like the rest of them here!" Gregory calls over to me. Freddy looks around anxiously for the exit. Gregory points to the entrance doors and yells something in between coughs.
Freddy sets me down and I grab Gregory's arm. The bear urges us out of the building, himself in tow.
My vision was blurry. Head was spinning. Gasping for oxygen was an understatement at this point.
Gregory and I were like fish out of water.
I pushed the doors open for the boy, and he crawled out, gasping at the fresh air.
I did the same, wiping the tears from my face.
We both collapsed on the pavement and coughed. Freddy picks the two of us up, and carries us away from the burning building.
Flames ate at the rest of the building. Tears flood my vision again as I continue to cough out all the smoke from my lungs.
Gregory crawls into my arms, and I hold him close as I stare wide eyed at the bright fire ahead.
In the distance, soft sounds of ambulances came rolling down the streets. The sirens wailed, getting closer.
It was so hot. My s/c skin burns in pain.
"I'm really sorry for what happened to him." Gregory mumbles into my arms. I sniffle my nose and hold him closer.
Freddy stands beside me to my right, putting a hand on my shoulder. I frown up at him before turning my longing gaze back at the building.
I wish I could go back in there. I wish I could have grabbed him earlier before it was all too late.
It was all over, though. There would be no more Sun. No more Moon. No more days in the daycare with them, just enjoying each other's company.
I double over and crouch down to the pavement. I sit on the ground, Gregory now sitting beside me as well.
"I can't believe I sent a call in for the police, and nobody showed up before all this." I breathe out hastily. Greg leans his head to my shoulder and closes his eyes.
The fire trucks pull into the parking lot, getting ready to demolish what was left of the flames.
A few paramedics ran towards us, helping us to our feet.
After a while of sitting, getting help and bandaged, we sat with blankets around our shoulders side by side. Freddy stood with low power watching us from afar.
"What do you think's gonna happen to him?" Gregory frowns, looking at Freddy.
I hum in thought softly.
"Well . . The company owner's will either have to take his body, or . . maybe he'll get scrapped." It hurt to say it, but what else was there that anybody could do? I'm sure there will be more research done on whoever was running this taken over business.
Whatever was happening, kept coming back.
"Oh no." Gregory pouts. "Can't we do something?"
I think it over. It was hard to think, if I was being honest. Everything was fuzzy.
"We might be able to take him home, but without a charging station, I'm not really sure what use he has." I let out a soft sigh.
"Could we make one? O-Or find one?" Gregory looks up to me. I furrow my brows slightly. "That could be a possibility."
I knew one thing, though. I was going back for Sun.
An officer came up to us with a phone in his hand. "Was it you that put in a distress call earlier this evening?" The man tilts his head curiously.
I nod. "Yes sir. What happened? Nobody showed up."
"A woman . . Vanessa, came out and told me she had no idea who called. Said there was nobody else in the building who could do that . ." He furrows his brows down at me.
I frown in response. "What?"
"She figured it was some sort of prank. How did she not know you two were in the building, still?"
"Sir, it's a big place. And we were trying to avoid her. After midnight, if I'm being honest, I had forgotten all about her even being in the building still. I thought maybe she was, well," I find myself trailing off as unwanted thoughts met my mind. "Gone."
"You two seem to have gone through allot . . We'll ask some follow up questions when your health is in better shape. Do you two have parents I need to call?" He asks. Handing over a notepad and pen, I take it.
I look down at Gregory. The boy frowns up at me softly.
As I look to his helpless expression, I sturdy myself and look back to the officer. "He lives with me. Our mother needs to know what's going on." I jot down her phone number and hand it back to the officer.
He nods, "I'll contact her right now. We need to take you two to the hospital. You're in pretty bad shape."
"We've been through allot, tonight. I can't even believe we're still on our feet." I feel tears weld up my vision again.
The officer calls over another paramedic and the two leave our sides.
"I . ." Gregory looks down to his feet. His shoes were caked in all sorts of dirt. "Why are you doing this for me?"
I smile bitterly down at the boy. My arm wraps around his shoulders and I pull him close. "I think we've gone through a little too much tonight to be split apart."
Gregory smiles.
