GREGORY AND I make it under the pizzaplex in once piece. He was panting lightly under all the panic in the air. I couldn't blame him. Freddy had led us as far as we could go, until his power had finally ran out, so he held back in a recharge station. He kept in contact with us on our Fazwatches in the meantime.
It was so dark. I had my flashlight, but I wasn't so sure it was a good idea to use it just yet. Chica had made her way downstairs, I could hear her munching on something.
But I just didn't know where she was yet.
"Where are we? Do you even know where we're going?" Gregory asks me. I frown slightly, but try and stay calm. After all, I had to not only look out and protect myself, but now I had to make sure this little shit head stays alive, too.
"It's not going to be easy, but I know how to get us out from here. There's a hallway that leads to a security office. From there, we can get out through some of the other halls that will eventually lead us back to the main entrances." I explain to him.
He frowns, shaking his head with confusion. "Ugh— okay. Well, let's just try not to get killed. I don't know why Freddy still thinks the animatronics aren't trying to hurt us," he sighs.
I shrug, keeping my footsteps quiet. "I don't know, either. But he's not trying to hurt us. So, maybe we should just focus on that for right now." I tell him.
He hums in thought quietly as we make it to the stop in the hall. There was a desk with paint cans stacked up on it. I furrow my brow.
What the hell?
"Guess we'll just have to go around, come on." I motion with my shoulder, pushing open the bathroom door. Gregory and I stop wide eyed, seeing Chica munching at the knocked over garbage on the floor. I hold my hand up over Gregory's chest to prevent him from taking any further steps forward.
We quietly back out of the room and shut the door.
"It's Chica! Now what do we do?!" Gregory whispers in a panic up at me.
I think. My eyes search around until they meet the desk.
"Can't we just climb over it?" Gregory asks me. I shake my head. "If we knock over something while trying to climb through that, she's going to get us." I explain. "I think we need to knock those down, and crawl our way through the bathroom behind her. The cans will distract her, so she won't even know we're there," I tell him.
"What?!" He frowns. "Are you crazy?" Greg whispers yells up at me. "That's going to get us killed, for sure!"
"It's our only chance, Greg!" I frown back at him. As I let out a tense sigh, I place a hand on the kid's shoulder. "I'm not going to let you get hurt. I promise."
He frowns at my hand, then nods with hesitance. "A-Alright. But this better work."
"Okay, when I hit the cans, you go. I'll be right behind you. I promise." I tell him sternly. He nods, and pushes the door open a crack. I hit the cans and they fall one by one. Chica peeks her head up, and runs out into the hallway.
Gregory and I sneak in through the bathroom, and head out the door she came out of. We look at her with caution as she inspects the cans.
Chica makes little sounds of confusion as she tilts her head and picks up a can. She would be distracted for a while.
I urged Gregory to keep moving forward as we make it down the hallway, pass her body.
As we make it into the next room, we let out a tense exhale. "Holy shit, that was scary." I whisper.
He nods, a look of distress creasing his features. "Yeah, no kidding."
We travel down the hall and make it into what seems to be a gated up hallway through some control panels. There was an anxiety creeping up my throat, but I needed to stay calm for Greg.
He looked just about as nervous as I did, though.
As we make it down the hall, I read the wall which says lobby on it. My brows perk in amusement. "Oh, we're getting closer to the main part of the building again." I mention.
Loud footsteps pound into the floor behind us. I turn around with knitted brows and see Monty bursting through the gated door behind us.
"There you are!" He growls.
My eyes widen, and I push Gregory ahead of me. "Holy shit, run!"
He starts running, and I guide his way. We make a quick sharp right, and look ahead to see Chica bursting through the other side of the room.
"Oh no!" Gregory frowns. I push him to the left, and we make it to the staircase. "Come on, hurry up!" I say, now pulling his wrist as I run.
Monty was right on our ass— Chica not too far behind. My heart was in my throat.
Why the hell was this happening?! Why did they want to hurt us so badly?
"Y/N! Where do we go?" Gregory asks in a pant. I urge him to continue going up the stairs. "There's a security office up here, hang on." My voice wobbles as we continue to run.
My legs were starting to hurt— these stairs were a freaking workout.
We make it into the room, and I shut the door behind us. Monty pounds on the door just as it closes.
"Holy fucking shit," I pant out. My body was shaking. Adrenaline was taking over my body at this point.
I look around the office and frown. The power on the doors were supposed to be what kept them closed. However, the battery life was only around fifteen percent.
Just our luck.
"Oh, man." I take a seat in one of the chairs and sigh. Gregory frowns up at me.
"Now what do we do?!" He asks. Monty yells some very not nice things to us from the other side of the door. I wonder where he picked up that language from.
"I-I don't know . . just give me a minuet to think. I'm mostly just a daycare worker, dude." I look around the room curiously. There was filing cabinets behind me.
I get up and take a look at them curiously.
"Gregory?" Freddy calls him through the Fazwatch. "Are you and Y/N okay?"
"Y-Yeah, but we're low on power." He tells Freddy.
"I'm making the security cameras accessible to the both of you. Hang on." Freddy says.
Gregory takes the security badge from the counter and uses it for the watch.
I'm busy looking through the filing cabinets for something important. I know we're under allot of pressure for time, but there was just something I needed to find.
I feel like this place was hiding something, just like the other locations were all those years ago.
Papers lined the inside of the cabinets in file packets. I pull one out labeled as animatronics, and view over their blueprints. Looking passed that, I peek through some of the files labeled 'original'.
A few names that sounded familiar rung a little bell in my mind.
"William Afton . . I know that name." I say aloud.
"Do we really have time for this?" Gregory asks me. I wave a hand over at him to quiet him down. Freddy continues to talk through our Fazwatches.
"This is really important, Gregory. When this is all over with, I'm getting all the information that I can, to get this building management taken down for good." I tell him. "Things like this have been going on for years. And I know it sounds crazy," I frown, "But . . I think William is still behind all of this."
Monty bangs harder on the door, and the battery goes down a few more bars. I let out a soft groan as I try to collect myself.
"Who?!" He asks, breaking his sight from the door.
"William— he was the original partnered owner for Freddy Fazbear's. But . . something happened. It was all over the news when my mom was a kid," I say, eyeing over the papers. There was tons of past information in these files. Why were they keeping it?
"Isn't that guy dead now, then?" Gregory asks with a head tilt.
I shrug. "Supposedly. But, why the hell are the animatronics still trying to kill us?" I ask him as if he had the answers.
"I don't know. They want me, more than they want you." He frowns.
Vanessa must have told them she was looking for Gregory. But . . Vanessa wasn't a bad person. She can't be the blame for all of this.
It was a stretch to think that.
I stuff the papers into my back pocket, folding them to fit. "Whatever, let's just get the hell out of here." I say.
As we make our way out of the halls, passed Chica and her chases, we finally make it back into the lobby. The doors were now locked, and I had no way of opening it.
I wasn't even supposed to be here for a full overnight. I would have been clocked out before the doors closed, so without keys, we aren't going anywhere.
"Shit." I glare. "I knew we wouldn't make it in time."
"No, no, no!" Gregory runs to the doors. They had been closed for a while now, though. "How are we going to get out?"
"Well, like I said before all this junk happened, we need to get the keys to the back security doors. We can get out through there." I mention with a sigh.
"So how do we get them?" He asks me.
"You're not going to like it." I frown.
