part 17

Boom's empire glittered in the city lights - skyscrapers by day, underworld shadows by night. And at the center of it all sat Boom himself, untouchable, unreadable.
Yet, he allowed both Aou and Jo into his orbit.
Some nights, he'd call Aou into his penthouse, pouring whiskey for two, his hand brushing Aou's just long enough to spark hope.
Other nights, Jo would find himself pressed against Boom's office desk, Boom's lips ghosting over his skin before he pulled away with a cruel smile.
"You want me?" Boom whispered once, eyes cold even as his touch burned. "Then prove you're worth the scars you gave me."
Neither man knew if Boom still loved them-or if he was only enjoying their torment.
The Deadly Trial
One night, Boom summoned them both to a warehouse. The atmosphere was heavy, shadows filled with armed men from the mafia.
On the table lay two guns.
Boom sat in the middle, elegant and merciless, a glass of wine in his hand.
"You claim you'd die for me," he said softly, gaze flicking between them. "Tonight, I want proof."
The rules were simple, brutal. One chamber, one bullet. A test of loyalty.
Jo's hands shook, but he picked up the gun first, pressing it to his temple. He pulled the trigger-click. Empty.
Aou's jaw clenched as he took the gun next. Without hesitation, he spun the chamber and raised it. But before he could pull, Boom's hand shot out, stopping him.
"That's enough," Boom murmured, eyes unreadable. "I don't want you dead. Not yet."
Aou's jaw was tight, his eyes blazing. "I told you before, Boom. I'd die for you. But I'd rather live for you. Just... let me."
For the first time since his resurrection, Boom's mask cracked. His breath hitched, his heart thundering against his ribs.
Jo, watching from the ground, broke.
The man who had always controlled, always schemed-now looked small, defeated. Tears slid down his cheeks as he whispered, "I lost you... to him."
Boom turned, eyes hard again. "No, Jo. You lost me the day you chose betrayal over love."
The words cut deeper than bullets. Jo collapsed fully, sobbing, while Boom turned his back.
Later that night, Aou cornered Boom on the rooftop, moonlight painting the scars on Boom's face.
"You push me away," Aou whispered, "but you can't deny it. You still feel something."
Boom's hand trembled as Aou's fingers brushed his. For a fleeting moment, warmth flickered in his cold eyes.
Then he pulled back, forcing steel into his voice.
"Careful, Aou. Proving your love doesn't mean you've won my heart. Not yet."
But the hesitation in his tone betrayed him.
Jo's Last Descent
Weeks after the warehouse trial, Jo was no longer the polished man Boom once knew. Shadows clung to him, his eyes wild.
"If I can't have you, Boom," Jo whispered into the night, gun clutched in his shaking hand, "then no one will."
The mafia whispered of Jo's recklessness. He'd been buying weapons, hiring mercenaries-planning something catastrophic.
Boom heard the rumors and smiled bitterly. "So predictable." But deep down, his chest tightened. Not for Jo... but for Aou, who Jo might target to break him.
The Attack
One stormy night, Boom's skyscraper lit up in chaos. Explosions rattled the lower floors. Jo had come with fire and bullets.
Boom stood in his office, calm despite the chaos. Aou burst in, bloodied but alive, having fought through Jo's men just to reach him.
"Boom-come with me!" Aou grabbed his arm. "We can still escape."
But Boom shook his head, steel in his voice. "No. I'm done running. Tonight, it ends."
The Final Confrontation
The rooftop was the stage. Rain poured, thunder growled, and Jo faced them with madness burning in his eyes.
"You should've chosen me!" Jo screamed, raising his gun at Aou.
Boom stepped in front of Aou instantly, his own weapon drawn. His voice was low, deadly. "If you pull that trigger, Jo... I swear it'll be the last thing you ever do."
Jo's hands trembled. Tears streamed down his face. "Why him, Boom? After everything I gave, why him?"
Boom's eyes softened-not with pity, but with finality. He glanced back at Aou, steady and loyal even through the storm, then back at Jo.
"Because he never made me choose between power and love. He gave me both."
And with that, Boom fired. The bullet shattered Jo's gun, sending him sprawling, defeated and sobbing in the rain.
The Choice
For the first time, Boom dropped his weapon. He turned to Aou, chest heaving, water and tears mixing on his face.
"I tried to punish you," Boom whispered. "Tried to make you suffer like I did. But all you did was stay. Even when I was cruel. Even when I was broken."
Aou stepped closer, cupping Boom's face despite the blood and rain. "I told you... I'd live for you. Not die. Live."
Boom's walls crumbled. His lips found Aou's in a desperate, rain-soaked kiss-the kind that wasn't about power or games, but survival, love, and finally, peace.
