Chapter 21

I have a big plan in mind and Rey has no idea.

I wake up the next morning to find the other side of the bed cold. Ben must of gotten up a while ago. I hear clanking from upstairs so I decide to go an investigate. Walking down the hallway I hear the clanking get louder; it's coming from the kitchen. I walk in and see Ben trying to make breakfast. "Morning beautiful," he says facing the stove sensing my presence. "Good morning. What's all this?" I ask coming into the kitchen. "Can't a man make the love of his life breakfast without a reason?" He asks while turning around holding two plates with a cover. "Maybe," I tease. He smiles, "Breakfast?" "Yes, it smells fantastic," I tell him. I follow him as he walks up to a plain wall in the kitchen. He was just standing in front of the wall. What was he doing? His right hand goes forward making the wall move to the side revealing another room. I stare in utter amazement as he turns his head to look at me with a smirk before walking in. I follow him into the room. The whole room

is surrounded by more windows looking out at the beautiful landscape with a round table with fruit in the middle.

He sets one plate in front of where I sit and one in front of the other seat that he sits down in. I take off the cover to reveal scrambled eggs and some thin, round, flat cake of batter. I've never seen anything like that before. "That's a pancake. You can eat it with your hands, they're quite sweet," Ben informs me as he takes a bite of his pancake. I pick it up and take a bite out of it. "This is amazing!" "I know, I know, I'm a great cook," he says sarcastically making us both laugh.

I finish the food on my plate and go to reach for an apple at the center of the table. Only when I reach out for it, it floats backwards away from me towards Ben. He catches it in his hand, places it on his plate, and cuts it into slices before sending them back to me. "Thank you. What are we doing today?" I ask. "I was thinking if you wanted to go to the nearby valley, we could have a picnic, then tonight we could sit out together and watch the stars." It was almost kind of strange seeing this soft loving side of Ben, the Kylo side was nearly diminished. But it didn't matter, I loved him no matter what and welcomed the Ben we all missed. "I'd love too," I assure him. "Great! You go get dressed and I'll clean up," he says. "Okay," and with that, I leave the room.

The valley was only about ten minute walk. It was lovely, beautiful rolling hills surrounded by waterfalls in the distance. Naboo was definitely the most gorgeous of all the planets. We set our blanket and basket down under the shade of a small tree before heading towards the waterfalls. While I was changing before Ben told me to wear a swimsuit underneath my clothes and now I see why. We reach the falls and it has another huge lake in front of it that the waterfalls pour into, but it's actually quite shallow. I'd say at the deepest part, the water goes up to my shoulders.

Ben takes off his shirt and I can't help but stare at his muscles. He has a perfectly toned body and is shredded. He must of heard my thoughts cause he turns to look at me laughing, before walking over to me. "Like what you see?" He asks cockily. "No... I was just looking at all of your stomach flab. You're probably thirty pounds soaking wet," I rebuttal blushing. "Oh really now," he says with a smirk knowing I'm lying. He walks over to me and before I can process anything he picks me up and flings me over his shoulder as he walks towards the lake. "Are you gonna take that back?" He asks holding me over the water about to throw me in. "No," I tell him stubbornly. He smiles, "Ok then..." and throws me in. I get submerged underwater, it's quite refreshing actually. It's the perfect temperature, not too hot and not too cold. "Ben!" I scream once I surface. "You could have just admitted you love my body," he jokes. I catch him off guard since he is laughing and using the force I push him into the water. "Hey!" he says now standing beside me in the water. I'm laughing so hard at the moment. "Very funny," he says splashing me. "It was, you should of seen your face," I tell him between dying laughs.

We stay in the water for like an hour or so, I lost track of time, we were just having so much fun. We were splashing each other and hiding from one another's water balls we were throwing with the force. I was hiding behind a rock watching Ben look for me. "Rey... Where'd you go?" He calls looking around for me. He turns his head in my direction and I quickly hide behind the rock. After a few moments I look back again ready to throw my water ball but when I look Ben is not there. Where'd he go? Suddenly I feel arms wrap around me and pull me into the water. I turn around to face Ben's loving eyes and I lean up and kiss him. I could only imagine what it looked like from the distance; us passionately kissing in the water with the waterfalls behind us, the sun perfectly shining overhead. It was magical. Our moment got interrupted when my stomach growled. We broke apart and Ben asked, "Shall we go have lunch?" "Yes," I responded.

We got out of the water, dried off, changed back into our clothes, and walked back to our blanket hand in hand. We sat down on the blanket in the shade of the tree as Ben took two plates out of the basket, handing one to me than placing a sandwich on top. He must of made them this-morning too.

We ate in silence enjoying every bite of the food. I was looking at Ben when I noticed something engraved on the tree behind him. He must of seen me staring and also turned around to see what I was looking at. I got closer and saw it was in the shape of a heart with two letters in the center. I traced it with my fingers and it said "A+P." "Anakin plus Padme," Ben said staring at it. I looked around in the grass and found a fairly sharp stick and engraved a heart below the one previously there and drew "B+R," in it. Ben smiled, "Perfect," giving me a quick kiss. Then we cleaned up all of our stuff and headed back to where we were staying. We didn't head straight back though, we went exploring through the plains and hills following a stream before reaching the house.

"You go shower and get dressed, something nice," Ben tells me politely. "Okay," I tell him and head downstairs. I walk into the closet and pick out a violet dress before hopping into the shower. The water felt refreshing as it ran over my body. I took all the time in the world making sure I was all cleaned up and got every spot. Finally, I got out and dried myself off with my towel before slipping the dress on. I decided I was going to leave my hair down. I often wear it up so this time I'm going to leave it down. My hair went down past my shoulders and was slightly wavy from letting the air dry it. I looked in the mirror one final time, content with how I looked before exiting the bathroom.

I headed upstairs looking for Ben, only to find no one there. "Ben?" I called out; no answer. Where is he? Using the force I looked for his presence and sensed it coming from the balcony.

BENS POV:

I had planned today out to be perfect and tonight was the final step. I needed Rey to go take a shower so I would have time to set everything up before she came back. The whole balcony was lined with small shinning lights with a path of rose petals leading up to the table at which I wait.

The glass door slid open revealing Rey. She looked so stunning, I couldn't even describe it; she took my breath away. She seemed surprised looking at everything as she walked over to me. I couldn't take my eyes off of her she was so beautiful. "What?" She asked blushing. "You're just so beautiful," I told her making her blush even more. "What's all this?" She asked. "A special dinner for a special lady," I told her as I took her hand and led her to her seat where dinner waited. We both sat down and started eating. Luckily Rey had taken her time getting ready so I was able to prepare chicken and potatoes for dinner. I was pretty proud, it came out pretty delicious. Who knew I could cook?

I treasured every minute of dinner. Most of it consisted of eating and some small talk, but it still went by rather quickly since the whole time I was thinking about what I was about to do. "Thank you, this was delicious. Ben, are you okay?" Rey asks calmly. "Rey," I say taking her hand. "You asked me earlier this week as we were walking back from dinner what I was thinking about. Before I got the chance to answer we were interrupted by a stormtrooper." 'Breathe Ben, you can do this.' I tell myself. "I was thinking about you... About us. About how I realized I want to spend the rest of my life with you," I paused taking a deep breath. "What are you saying Ben?" She asked she could tell I was nervous. "Ever since you returned back into my life, I couldn't be more grateful. You changed me for the best and I can never repay you for that. When I was trapped in the darkness you were my guide, the candle that led me out of the hole I was stuck in. You're my Rey of light, my sole purpose in life. I couldn't imagine what my life would be like without you. I knew I'd love you since I day I met you at the Academy and I will continue to love you forever." I get down on one knee causing a shocked gasp to come from Rey as her hands covered her mouth. I pulled a small box out of my pocket and open it to reveal a beautiful diamond ring, not as beautiful as Rey, but still beautiful. "Rey, would you do me the honor and be my wife?" I ask nervously afraid of her answer. "Yes! I'd love to marry you!" She squeals as I slip the ring on her finger before she jumps on me as I stand up, wrapping her legs around my waist as she pulls me in for a kiss. I couldn't even believe how amazing it felt to hear Rey say those words. She is mine and I am hers. I will protect her for the rest of my life.
