Chapter 20
13:16, 22 July 2024Faye Malisorn's POV
Yoko came back to being her affectionate self after that day, and our relationship returned to its usual level of comfort and closeness.
We eventually discussed the leaked video of ourselves that has been making its way online. We both agree that it's a bit uncomfortable to have our private lives exposed in such a public way, but we didn't make it a big deal.
We knew that it was just a harmless video, and there's not much we can do about it now.
There's not much change in our interactions. We still express our affection for each other like before, but we have become more careful, especially when there are others around.
We don't want to attract too much attention, but we also don't want to let the possibility of others' judgement affect our relationship.
We are sitting in a small studio for an interview with a popular magazine, cameras and microphones all around us.
The interviewer is sitting across from us, a friendly smile on her face as she begins to ask us about our experience being in a Girl Love series.
I smile and lean forward, ready to answer the interviewer's questions. "It's been an interesting experience, to say the least," I reply, my voice steady and confident.
Yoko nods in agreement, her hand finding mine and giving it a gentle squeeze.
The interviewer continues asking us questions about our relationship, but I can feel that she's leading up to something specific.
Sure enough, she asks us the next question. "What are three things you admire about each other?"
We glance at each other, and I can see a smile tugging at the corners of Yoko's lips. We had been expecting this question, and we both know exactly what we want to say about each other.
Yoko smiles at the interviewer and answers with conviction, "I love that she always smells great, no matter what. She always uses the most soothing scents."
She turns to me, a tenderness in her eyes as she adds, "She is also so kind and gentle, always understanding and patient with me."
I can't help but smile back at Yoko, her words making my heart flutter in my chest. Her eyes are sparkling, clearly sincere about the things she admires about me.
The interviewer turns to me, expecting an answer, but I hesitate, a mischievous smile on my face. "Sorry, I'm not telling."
A small smirk graces my lips as I glance at Yoko, who looks both amused and slightly confused by my refusal to share.
"Yoko's admirable qualities are just for me to know, not for the world." I say.
The interviewer looks slightly taken aback, but Yoko just laughs, clearly amused by my answer.
She knows that I'm being coy and teasing, but there's also a hint of possessiveness in my statement. After all, there are some things that I want to keep just between the two of us.
But there are so many things I admire about Yoko. I admire how passionate she is about her work. She never hesitates to put her all into everything she does, and it's really impressive. She also has a big heart, even though she sometimes pretends she's tough and indifferent.
The interviewer chuckles and moves on to the next question, realizing that they won't be getting any more information out of me.
The interview continues, but the whole time, I'm more aware of the way Yoko's hand feels in mine than the questions being asked.
Sometimes, our fingers wander and we find ourselves gently tracing each other's knuckles or playing with each other's fingertips. We occasionally steal glances at one another, and I can feel the warmth and comfort in her touch.
We know the interviewer is capturing every word and gesture, so we make sure to maintain professionalism while also stealing glances at each other and exchanging small smiles.
We both do our best to keep things lighthearted and casual, answering honestly but not revealing too much about ourselves.
As the interview comes to an end, we're taken to a different room where we are able to talk with the magazine's marketing team. The marketing team is excited to hear our thoughts on the interview and start discussing potential cover photos and promotional materials.
Yoko and I sit together as we listen to the team's suggestions. I find myself getting lost in my thoughts, still feeling the warmth of Yoko's touch. Her hand brushes against mine occasionally, making me feel comforted and reassured.
During a lull in the conversation, I glance over at Yoko, only to find her looking right back at me.
There's a small smile on her lips, and I can tell she's thinking the same thing I am. Despite the public nature of our relationship, moments like this remind me of why I love her so much.
Once we're done with the meeting with the marketing team, P’wan approaches us.
“Alright, you two can go,” she says with a smile. “Go rest for a bit before the photoshoot.”
We both thank her and nod, feeling a mix of exhaustion and anticipation. A photoshoot means another few hours of being in the spotlight, but at least we'll have some time to relax before then.
We make our way to a more secluded area in the studio, settling down on a small couch together. I let out a sigh of relief as I lean back against the couch cushion, feeling tiredness seeping into my bones.
Just as we're about to sink into a comfortable silence, a staff approaches us.
"Here, we've got some snacks and drinks for you guys if you're hungry."
We both thank the staff, appreciating the gesture. The food looks delicious and our stomachs rumble in response.
While we're eating, I notice that Yoko's barely touched the food in front of her. She's probably just tired from the interview and meeting earlier, but I know she needs to eat something to keep up her energy.
On impulse, I pick up a piece of food and gently bring it to her lips, just like how I do every time.
After I feed Yoko the food, she swallows and then looks over at me with a slight pout.
"Faye," she says in a mock-accusatory tone, "why didn't you answer the question about what you admire about me?"
I meet her gaze, my lips curving into a playful smile. "Oh, and why do you think I didn't answer, hm?"
"I don't know, perhaps because you're too shy to say it out loud?"
I can't help but laugh at her response. She's always been cheeky, but I find it endearing.
"Shy, me? Please, as if you don't already know how much I admire you." I retort, trying to mimic her tone.
Yoko's pouty expression turns into a smile, her curiosity piqued. "Fine, if you're not shy, then tell me what it is you admire about me."
I take a moment, making a show of pretending to think deeply.
"Well, there are so many things I admire about you," I pause, looking at her with a fond smile. "But if I have to name a few, I'd say... it's your passion. The way you pour your heart into everything you do is truly admirable. Your kindness and understanding, especially with me. And..." I trail off, a tender look in my eyes.
"And...?" Yoko prompts, a hint of a teasing smile on her lips.
"And," I continue, my voice going softer, "your beauty. Not just your physical beauty, though you're undeniably gorgeous, but the beauty of your soul and your heart."
Yoko's expression softens, a hint of blush blossoming on her cheeks.
"You're so cheesy," she says, but her tone is warm and affectionate.
I grin, not denying her accusation. "But you love it," I point out, knowing that my cheesy side is part of what she loves about me.
Yoko laughs, her eyes sparkling.
"Yeah, I do," she admits, her hand finding mine on the couch and intertwining our fingers.
I give her hand a gentle squeeze, feeling the warmth of her touch. Even after all this time, moments like this still make my heart skip a beat.
