Chapter 7: FLASHBACK lV
06:54, 23 July 2024FAYE MALISORN'S POV
>>Flashback lV<<
The days that following our conversation felt surreal and tense. Yoko became distant towards me, only speaking to me when necessary for work-related matters.
Her once warm and open demeanor had been replaced by a cold and distant air that left me feeling both confused and hurt. It was as if Yoko had erected a wall between us.
There were times when I caught her stealing glances at me when she thought I wasn't looking.
But the moment my gaze met hers, she would quickly look away, her expression turning guarded once again.
P'wan, our CEO, approached me with a look of concern on her face as she spoke,
"Faye, I've noticed that you and Yoko have been acting differently lately. Is everything okay between you two? You both seem distant."
I found myself in denial, not wanting to confront the true reason behind our increasing distance.
"It's nothing serious. We're just... a little busy right now. You know how it is in the industry, we've been working a lot lately, that's all."
P'wan looked at me, her expression a mix of concern and skepticism. She could tell that I wasn't being entirely truthful, and she tried to urge me to address the issue with Yoko.
"Faye, I can tell that something more is going on between you two. I don't want it to affect your work. You should talk to Yoko and clear things up, okay?"
P'wan gave me a small smile and a reassuring pat on the shoulder.
"Remember, Faye, communication is key. Don't let things stay as they are."
I could feel the weight of guilt on my shoulders. I knew she was right, and I knew I had to talk to Yoko to try and smooth things over.
But I was hesitant, afraid of the difficult conversation that lay ahead, but first, I need to come up with a plan first before talking to her.
As I mulled over different ways to approach Yoko, an idea popped into my mind.
I know that Yoko have a soft spot for beverages. Maybe buying her a drink and a small apology note would be a subtle way to break the ice.
After the shoot ended, I went to buy the drink I had planned to give to Yoko. But when it came time to hand it to her, I felt a little shy about giving the drink to her directly, so I decided to ask P'wan for help.
"Uh, P'wan, can you help me with something?"
"Sure, what is it, Faye?"
"Can you please give this drink to Yoko for me?
P'wan nodded and took the drink from me. She then walked over to Yoko, who was in the corner, on her phone.
As P'wan handed the drink to her, I watched anxiously to see her reaction. When our eyes met, my heart was in my throat, and I could feel my palms sweating.
I wondered what she would say, what she thought when she saw the note.
After a few moments, Yoko walked over to me, her face unreadable. She held the note in her hand and looked at me with a mix of surprise and confusion.
"What's with the apology note?"
I took a deep breath, gathering my courage.
"I wanted to talk to you. Can we go somewhere private?"
Yoko nodded, and we made our way to a quiet area away from the rest of the crew. The air was thick with tension, and I could feel my heart hammering in my chest.
When we were sufficiently far enough from the hustle and bustle of the set, I took a deep breath and spoke up.
"I... I wanted to apologize for what happened the other day."
Yoko listened intently, her eyes searching mine as I continued. I knew I had to be honest and tell her everything.
"There's been a misunderstanding between us, and I want to clear it up. What you confessed that day... I didn't respond the way I should have."
I could see the mix of emotions in Yoko's face, and I could tell that she was struggling to understand my words.
"I don't understand. You say there was a misunderstanding. What do you mean by that exactly?"
"When you confessed your feelings to me, I was overwhelmed, and my silence must have given you the wrong impression."
Yoko's eyes widened slightly, and I could see the wheels turning in her head as she processed my words. After a moment of silence, she spoke slowly.
"You said you were overwhelmed and that your silence gave me the wrong impression. Does that mean...?"
I nodded slowly, feeling both relieved and apprehensive at the same time.
"I feel the same way about you." I said.
Yoko's face lit up with excitement, a wide grin spreading across her lips. Without a moment's hesitation, she threw her arms around me and pulled me into a tight embrace.
It was like a dam of emotions had broken, and all the pent-up feelings between us were now flowing freely.
"Faye..." She softly whispered.
I returned her embrace, feeling the warmth and comfort of her body against mine. Time seemed to stand still as we remained in that moment, holding onto each other tightly.
I could feel the rapid beating of her heart against mine, and I knew that we were both feeling the same mix of happiness.
As we pulled back from the embrace, Yoko looked at me with an expression of hope and curiosity. Her eyes were shining, and her smile was dazzling.
"So... what does this means for us now?"
I smiled at her, looking deeply into her eyes.
"We don't need to rush into anything. Let's just enjoy the moments we share together and see where things go."
Yoko nodded in agreement, her eyes still glittering with excitement. Her hands rested gently on my forearms, her touch sending a flurry of butterflies through my stomach.
"You're right,"
I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by my feelings for Yoko, and before I knew what I was doing, I leaned in and planted a gentle kiss on her forehead.
I let my lips linger there for a moment, relishing the warmth of her skin against mine.
As I pulled back from the kiss, I immediately noticed the pout on Yoko's face. She looked almost childlike, and I couldn't help but smile at her expression.
She took a deep breath before speaking, a hint of playful annoyance in her voice.
"I've missed you, you know. These past few days with us being distant... it was torture." Her voice was soft and sincere.
I chuckled softly at her pout, finding her expression endearingly cute. I reached out to hold her hand, squeezing it gently.
"I've missed you too, you know. It's been tough shooting scenes with you while pretending like nothing's wrong." I said as squeezed her hand gently once again.
As our conversation came to a natural end, we both took a deep breath, realizing that we still have work to do.
With slight reluctance, we let go of each other's hand and headed back towards the set.
The air between us felt lighter now, the tension and distance that had been there earlier, replaced by a newfound hope and understanding.
Over the next few months, our relationship continued to grow stronger and deeper. We spent more time together on and off the set, bonding over shared experiences and supporting each other through the ups and downs of our work.
There were moments when we wondered whether anyone on the set had noticed the changes in our relationship.
We were careful not to be overtly affectionate around others, but despite our attempts to keep our relationship under wraps, we couldn't help but notice subtle changes in the way our colleagues interacted with us.
There were knowing glances and small smirks exchanged during conversations, and every so often, we could catch a whisper from one crew member to another.
We pretended not to notice, of course, and continued to act professional and casual in public.
But we both knew that the secret was out, at least among some members of the crew. Nobody had officially confronted us about it yet, and we were grateful for that.
