When we opened it, both Jake and Declan stood there, their jaws practically hitting the floor. I couldn't help but laugh as they scrambled to compose themselves.

Jake stepped forward first, offering his hand with a confident smile. "You look lovely, Cee."

Declan mirrored him, holding out his hand to Tessa with an easy grin.

Jake gently pulled me close as we stepped inside, his touch warm and reassuring. The room was even lovelier than I had imagined — soft lights twinkled overhead, casting a golden glow over the elegant decorations and the crowd of students dressed to impress.

Music filled the air, and soon Jake and I were on the dance floor, moving slowly together. His hand rested lightly on my waist, while I felt the steady beat of the music echoing the quickening rhythm of my heart.

Our eyes met, and without a word, we leaned in — a soft, tender kiss that felt like the start of everything I'd been waiting for.

Pulling back just slightly, Jake smiled, his eyes full of promise. "I'm really glad you're here, Cee."

I smiled back, warmth blooming inside me. "Me too, Jake. Me too."

The night stretched on, filled with laughter, dancing, and the kind of magic that only happens when two people finally find their way to each other.
