Chapter 15 : Unspoken Words

Wookyung's POV

I was at the internet cafe with my friend, Hyunbin. We're playing PUBG.

"Yah, kill him, kill him..." I said.

"I'm surrounded by enemies... Help me..."

And after a last shot, the game was over. I sighed and took off my headphones.

"It's because of you. We lost because of you," I said to Hyunbin who was using the computer which was next to mine.

"Don't blame me. They used a grenade..."

Then I got a call from someone. I looked at the caller ID and kept it back. It was Eunseo, again. She has been calling me for a while now.

"Won't you answer the call?" Hyunbin asked.

"Hello."

"Wae? I think she likes you."

"I'll just ignore her and she'll stop eventually... I like someone else."

"Then why don't you just confess to Jiyeon?"

"I wish I could tell her how I fell..." I sighed. "I'm afraid that I would lose her... My confession might affect our friendship so I decided to stay with her as a friend. In that way, I would always be by her side even if it hurts me sometimes. It's better to live as friends than to stay like strangers."

He nodded. "But doesn't she like someone else?"

"Dunno..." I just shrugged.

"Let's paly another round. This time, we'll surely win."

"Okay."

Jiyeon's POV

On my way home from the cafe, I got a text from someone. It was an unknown number but I still read it.

Hi~ I'm Kang Eunseo, the girl you met with Wookyung at the mall.

"Why is she texting me?"

Hi~

I want a favor from you. Can we meet?

What favor do you want from me?

I'll tell you when we meet.

Where should we meet then?

I'll come to your cafe tomorrow. I'll tell you about it there.

Okay...

"Why does she want my help? What would it be?"

I put my phone in my bag and walked towards my house.

As she told, Eunseo came to my cafe the next day.

I mouthed 'I'll be right back' to Jina before going with Eunseo to have some private time. We went to a table at the corner and sat there, opposite to each other.

"So what can I do to help you?" I said, starting the conversation.

"The thing is..." She hesitated at first.

"You can tell me frankly... I won't tell it to anyone."

"Ah... the thing is that... I like Wookyung."

"WHAT?! YOU LIKE..." I realized that I was almost shouting so I quickly covered my mouth.

"You like him? That bastard?!" I said, laughing a bit. "I can't believe it..."

I wasn't able to believe that a girl like her would like someone like Wookyung.

"Yes..." She seemed serious about it so I stopped laughing and cleared my throat.

"So how can I help you with this?"

"You're his best friend so I'm sharing this only with you." I nodded and she continued.

"...I'm going to confess to him. So can you set up a meeting with him? I tried before but he isn't picking up his phone. Can you please help me with it? Please..." She looked at me with her puppy eyes.

"I..." I sighed. "Okay, I'll help you..."

I somehow agreed to help her with it. Her face lighted up on hearing that.

She seems like a nice girl though. I should be happy that Wookyung is finally getting a girlfriend. I too wanted it. Can't I do this much for him?

"Really?! Thank you so much Jiyeon," she said, smiling widely.

"Ah, don't mention it." I smiled awkwardly, rubbing the back of my neck.

"I'll treat you something delicious next time. I've to go now. Bye."

She stood up and waved at me before walking out of the cafe. I sighed when she finally left.

"Jiyeon, think of a way to make Wookyung meet her... He'll get mad at me if I tell him directly about it. What should I do then?"

After thinking for sometime, I finally got an idea. "Yes, this would be okay. I hope this works."

Wookyung's POV

I was taking a nap when I woke up to the ringtone of my phone. It was Jiyeon so I quickly picked it up.

"Uh... What?"

"What are you doing now?"

"I was sleeping. Wae?"

"Can you meet now?"

"For what?"

"Let's go to the arcade. Last time we couldn't make it. What do you think?"

"Jinjja? Okay then. I'll come and pick you up."

"No, no...Let's meet at the tteokbokki shop we usually go."

"Okay,'ll be there in time."

"Okay."

I ended the call. I quickly got up from my bed and went to get ready. I was happy that I finally got some time to spend with her.

I quickly took my belongings and headed to the place.
