Attack on Konoha

The sand siblings weren't that far ahead, they did have to carry Gaara after all, but he could tell they were going to do something about it very soon.

While chasing them, Zeref gave a silent prayer that his clones would be able to get a hold of the scrolls that he needed, but sudden fluctuation in Chakra snapped his attention at Kankuro who was now holding him back.

The pair stopped and Zeref noticed as the two got further away.

The pair engaged in a Taijutsu battle, before Zeref jumped over Kankuro and punched wrapped up puppet on his back, only for it to groan, and have the real Kankuro jump out.

"Down side to the Chunin exams, everyone knows your greatest tricks." Zeref said.

Kankuro growled, a little annoyed at exposed so quickly but that didn't mean he was going to give up, he had to stall time.

Shino then suddenly appears in front of Zeref.

"Go ahead, why? Because I will keep him here" Shino says.

Zeref smirks slightly.

"Thanks Shino" he said before dissapearing in a cloud of smoke. It had seemed that the Zeref Kankuro was fighting was a clone.

Shino smiles, knowing that one of his friends actually cared to remember his name.

The real Zeref had caught up to Temari and Gaara and was now standing infront of them to prevent them from going any further.

Gaara noticed Zeref's arrival and swiped Temari out of the way so the two could battle.

As Gaara felt the need to kill grow a transformation took place forming a monstrous arm made from sand.

Zeref bolted at Gaara who attack with his new increase in speed and strength.

The two exchanged blows from the trees, jumping across them to land hits.

Gaara for a brief second looked into Zeref's eyes, which allowed him to lock him into a Genjutsu. It was o ly for a few seconds, but those seconds allowed Zeref to create 100 clones which all surrounded the boy.

Each clone giving out their own different type of, wind or fire Jutsu's the dand slowly started to melt, which started to burn Gaara.

Gaaa sprouted a tail made from sand and used it to attack the clones surrounding him.

Gaara who once again increased in speed and strength rushed to attack Zeref who dodge and booted Gaara through a tree right as Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke arrive.

Sasuke jumped in and tries to Chidori Gaara, and even though it grazes the boys arm, Gaara smacks Sasuke with his tail, sending Sasuke through multiple trees, and landing next to Temari.

Sakura tends to Sasuke with Pakkun and even looks after Temari.

Gaara who was blinded by rage Charges at Sasuke, angered by the boy for interrupting his fight between him and Zeref.

Sakura, shocked everyone by shielding Sasuke and took the attack, however instead of killing her like everyone assume, Gaara pinned her to a tree with sand that slowly tightened.

Naruto angry that Sakura was hurt charged at Gaara only to be swatted to the side like a fly, as Gaara put his focus back on his main target.

Zeref.

"ZereF let's eNd tHis!" Gaara shouted his Voice distorted by The one tailed beast.

"Thought you would never ask" Zeref muttered.

The two charged at eachother once more, only just being a little faster than Gaara.

Naruto wanting to help tried to attempt to summon only to fail and summon Gamakichi.

"Patheteic, dissapear!" Gaara shouted, forming a sand Shuriken and throwing it at Naruto and Gamakichi.

Zeref punched Gaara right as he threw it setting the shuriken off course, but Naruto still protected Gamakichi from it just Encase.

Gaara getting more angered (if even possible) by Zeref went into his half transformation, which looked like the tailed beast is armour for the boy.

Naruto now having enough of doing nothing created 100 clones to attack Gaara.

After using his Sharingan to analyse the situation, Zeref manages to spot a part under Gaara's tail that wasn't covered by sand.

"Naruto! " Zeref shouted forming around 200 clones to distract Gaara.

Zeref told Naruto about the weak spot, so Naruto flung himself using his clones at Gaar, who threw him over himself.

Naruto while falling, Summoned a cloned and used it as a launchpad to attack Gaar from behined.

"Thousand years of death!" Naruto shouted sticking an explosive Kunai under Gaara's tail.

The explosion sent Naruto and all the clones flying, but before Naruto could hit a tree Sasuke managed to catch him.

Naruto summoned 2000 clones and all of them launched into the air.

Zeref realised the boys plan and slid under Gaara before launching him into the air with a powerful kick, sending him flying into the wave of Naruto's.

"Uzumaki Naruto two thousand Combo!" Naruto shouted punching Gaara into oblivion.

Having enough of Naruto getting the way of his fight with Zeref, Gaara takes his final form, the size of the Tanuki, who stands taller than the tallest tree.

Gaara in his Tanuki form, knocks away every clone, and encased Naruto in a Sand coffin.

Zeref noticing how tall the Tanuki is, takes a deep breath and taps into his Magic, turned Chakra, or dark Chakra.

"Summoning Jutsu!" He shouts, unknowingly at the same time as Naruto.

The two Zeref clones had snuck into the Hokage's office, bot were upside down on the roof, watching all the ANBU leave one by one.

They heard something about the Hokage being in danger which gave them the perfect opportunity to get the information they needed.

There was one ANBU in the room, but thanks to some attackers her left to go deal with them, allowing the clones to pull off the seal from the plant pot, which opened the door to the Library.

It was Huge, they split up looking for the information they needed, one Zeref came across a scroll about Jinchuriki's and figured they would take that too.

Seconds turned to minutes, and the battle outside was getting worse.

Finally after an intense session of alternating between watching out for ANBU and hunting for information they found the scrolls they needed.

Grabbing them, the two clones left  returned the seal, and ran. They had perfect timing as right as they left the ANBU returned to the office.

They did it.

In a cloud of smoke, it reveals Naruto standing on Gamabunta's head and Zeref standing on Igneel's head. Gamabunta was slightly smaller than the Tanuki, and Igneel was taller than the Tanuki.

"Oi Cheif, help me out in this fight!" Naruto shouts.

"Hey, Gramps, I need your assistance with him" Zeref states pointing at the tailed beast.

"That must be..." Gamabunta trailed off.

"Yes... Shukaku of the sand, it's been a while" Igneel stated.

Sasuke and Pakkun stare at the two Gennin in awe.

"Uzumaki Naruto, No way" Gamabunta said.

"What! It's only Natural for a cheif to help out his henchman!" Naruto shouted slapping the toad.

Zeref and Igneel watched the two with a deadpan.

"Is this really the time to argue?" Igneel asked.

"Who cares about them" Zeref said staring down The Tanuki turned Gaara.

The two of them jumped to attack him, while Naruto was still talking.

Igneel punched him and sent him flying back, although Gaara managed to throw the dragon off him and into the air.

Igneel flew, and dive bombed him.

"FIre Style: Dragons Roar!" He shouted.

The heat easily melted through Gaara's arm, before hitting it smashing it to pieces, the even cut Gaara.

Not long after Gamabunta joined the fight and attacked Gaara with his sword, but Gaara knocked him into the air.

"Playing possum Jutsu!" Gaara said, putting himself to sleep.

"That's a real Jutsu?" Zeref asked Igneel.

"Yes, although for obvious reasons, rarely used" he said.

"I'm finally able to emerge!" Shukaku shouted.

Gamabunta jumped into the air.

"Wataer Style: Water Bullets!" He shouted blasting water at Shukaku who countered it. With air bullets.

The two shot at eachother, while Igneel managed to grab Shukaku and fling him into the air.

"Hidden Taijutsu: sizemic toss!" He shouted spinning in the air multiple times before smashing Shukaku until the ground.

"Zeref we need to hold him down!" Naruto shouted.

Zeref nodded understanding that they need to wake up Gaara.

"Naruto back up only! I started this, so I'll finish it" Zeref said. Naruto nodded in understanding.

Naruto Transformed Gamabunta into the Kyubi.

The pair charged at Shukaku, and with a bit of struggling they Managaed to pin him down.

"Now!" They both shouted.

Naruto jumped into the air and punched Gaara.

"Wake the hell up!" He shouted before sliding down Shukaku and getting caught into the sand.

"Zeref!" Naruto shouted.

Zeref jumped and punched Gaara also, but he gripped onto his shirt.

"Wake!" Punch

"Your ass!" Punch

"UP!" With a final punch Shukaku started to crumble away.

"Oi, brat I'm headin home" Igneel said.

"Hmm, Gamakichi ,let's go home" Gamabunta said.

"Sure pop" the smaller toad responded.

All three summons dissapeared.

Naruto landed by Sasuke, while Zeref and Gaara landed on trees opposite eachother.

Both Gaara and Zeref stood up, tired and bleeding, while facing eachother.

"We end this" Zeref said.

"Agreed" Gaara said.

They both jumped at eachother, Gaara swung, but missed, Zeref swung and landed.

Zeref then spun and landed an Axe kick kicking Gaara to the ground in a crater.

Zeref fell to the ground unable to land properly, but managed to stand up and stared at Gaara.

"How? How are you so strong!" Gaara shouted.

"Heh, you think I was born this way. I had it all, family and love, but lost it all in the blink of an eye. I get it, you feel alone, like no one understands you, and it hurts" Zeref said thinking back to the guild his lover once made.

"I've made mistakes, to the point where my own brother has tried to kill me, and I had to kill my brother" Zeref continues thinking of Natsu and Shisui.

"But I never gave up, I found new things to protect, new goals to complete and it gave me the strength to continue, even when I didn't want to." He continued thinking back to the times when he sat by Shisui's memorial, and wondered what would happen of he too, like his brother jumped.

"But why?" Gaara asked.

Zeref now stood over the boy who he happily calls his friend and gave a classic smile that be borrowed from Natsu.

"Because, we all deserve someone right! So let's start over, Panda, wanna be my friend?" Zeref asked holding out his hand.

Gaara looked at it and gave a small smile, tears flowed down his eyes as he accepted Zerefs hand, and got pulled onto his shoulder right as, Naruto, Sasuke, Kankiro, and Temari arrived.

"Yes" Gaara said.

Kankuro looked ready to attack, but Gaara stopped him.

"Enough.... we're done, here. We've been bested. Let's go home" Gaara said. Kankuro nodded and held took Gaara from Zeref, turns out the boys were holding eachother up, so Zeref crumpled to the ground.

The sand siblings took off while Naruto and Sasuke held Zeref up, and walked him back to Pakkun and Sakura.

They took Zeref to the hospital and even got Hinata to help keep him there, Naruto passed out from Chakra exhaustion, and so they all rested.

The sun rose, and Zeref was released, he made his way home, where on his desk he discovered, four scrolls.

The first scroll he read held information about the Jinchuriki's where they are and the names of the current holders of each one.

The second scroll was on the Uchiha clan and how they planned a coup de et (sp) and were planning to attack the village for ostracising them and their clan, and for the blatant display of distrust after the Kyubi attacked Konoha.

The Third scroll was on Shisui, and how his original mission was to capture the leaders of the coup in a Genjutsu to stop the attack, and that it was planned by Danzo to steal his eyes so he couldn't do that.

That made Zeref's Sharingan turn on as he crumpled to scroll from gripping it too tight.

The last scroll told the truth about Itachi, how he was a spy for both the clan and the Hokage, and worst of all, how him killing the clan wasn't a spur of the moment decision, but a mission handed to him by the third Hokage and Danzo.

Zeref stared at the scroll in disbelief, be couldn't beleive his eyes, even though the Sharingan was on, he was angry, very angry.

At the Village, at it's people, at it's Hokage and it's Advisors.

A few days later the Hokage's funeral was held, it was raining hard but Zeref didn't care.

He wore black like the rest and stood at the very back, Neisho stood next to him but noticed something that made him uneasy.

Zeref's eyes didn't show sadness, they showed anger.

When Zeref was told he could put a flower on the Hokage's grave, he didn't, he handed the flower to Neisho and stared at it coldly, Naruto spotted this and grew angry.

"The hell is your problem" he said.

Zeref said nothing and walked away, not even giving the grave a second glance.

He was going to find Itachi and kick his ass for lying, he was going to get a hold of Danzo and kill him and he was gonna knock some sense into Sasuke, and he would be dammed if he didn't find his brothers eyes.

After walking for a while the sun came out, but Zeref still felt and looked cold.

"Lying Bastards" he muttered to himself.
