Chapter 22: Healing Hearts... The love between the two

Remember elvish is still underlined! The song below is what Asteria sings as she is healing Eowyn. This is mostly a small filler chapter. Don't hate me.. lol

Eowyn was found by Eomer; she was injured badly; her arm was especially damaged. She laid in the house of healing. Eomer sits with Eowyn. Aragorn told Asteria where to find her friend. Asteria had the power to heal and wake Eowyn. As Asteria approaches the house of healing as she takes a deep breath as she enters. She lifts her damaged arm to look at it. She then squeezes water out of a cloth and bathes her head with it. Eomer watches, grief in his eyes as Asteria softly sings as she tends Eowyn; her words a beautiful melody on the winds. Her hands that was touching the injured maiden had a glow as she continued her melody. Eomer watched intently as he saw that Eowyn begins to breath heavy as Eomer took a deep breath in relief.

*Pretend that is Asteria healing her please*

Asteria smiled as she watched Eowyn adjusts her eyes looking at Asteria as the elf maiden gives her a small smile "Welcome back, my Shield maiden of Rohan" Asteria said softly placing a hand on her cheek as Eowyn teared up a little "You...are safe... my lady..." she said in a small weak voice.

Asteria smiled as she leaned down and kissed her friends forehead "oh my dear Eowyn, I am so proud of you and so is everyone else..." she said softly placing a hand on her cheek. "My uncle?" She said softly as Asteria looked at Eomer sadly then back at her "I could not help him my dear... but you were able to be saved" Eowyn nodded as she sighed a bit closing her eyes to sleep. "Rest... I will see you when you wake up" Eowyn's breathing became more relaxed as Asteria felt a hand on hers and noticed it was Eomer who had tears in his eyes "Thank you..." he said with such gratefulness in his voice as she nodded at him. She turned back to Eowyn who was peacefully sleeping as Asteria kissed her hand gently and stood up.

Asteria leaves the brother and sister alone as she moves to find Legolas; who wasn't too far from where she was. He sat by the gate looking out of it as if searching. As she made her way to him; he got up quickly sensing her and met up with her "Eowyn?" he asked as she smiled "She will be just fine.. She will need rest but I have healed her mostly. As for her heart..." she said softly looking towards the house of healing "She will need to let it heal; accept love when it's presented" Legolas grabbed her hand softly; caressing it in his  as she turned her attention back to him "I was afraid I would lose you Asteria. I worried for you the entire time we were apart..." he said as he placed a hand on her cheek.

She couldn't help but to lean into his hand smiling softly at him; at his thoughts "You were never far from my thoughts my love... I was afraid I would not be able to see you in the end..." she said softly as tears threatened her eyes. Legolas noticed this as he moved closer to her; holding her to him pulling her into a deepening hug with one arm around her waist and his free hand behind her head, holding her close "I would search all of Middle Earth to be with you again..." he says softly as she pulled back looking into his beautiful blue eyes she adored so much as she listened to him "I told you, when this is all over; we will marry and we will live the rest of our lives loving each other." He said sweetly as he leaned in and kissed her deeply.

Asteria and Legolas pulled apart after a few moments as he placed his forehead to hers sighing happily "I love you Asteria" he said softly as she smiled at him "And I love you Legolas" she replied as she placed a hand on her pendant that still hung around his neck. It still had a beautiful shimmer to it that glowed in the moonlight "I wonder if it will ever be over..." she said softly as he looked at her in confusion as her eyes met his "What worries you so Asteria?" He said softly as she pulled away from him.

She seemed deep in her thoughts "It seems there's a constant battle. I wonder when we would have a chance for ourselves, for us to marry" she said as Legolas moved towards her taking her face in his hands "My love, do not worry so. Once this is over, we will marry with your father and mother's permission. Sauron will not take over Middle Earth." His voice full of hope and confidence as she looked at him nodding slightly "You're right. It just seems that we keep losing people we love after each battle. I'm so afraid I will lose you. Lose Aragorn, Gandalf, Gimli and the others. And poor Frodo is on a journey with Sam alone without us to help protect them—" she was cut off from speaking by Legolas pulling her into a kiss.

The kiss was deep; meaningful, as if it was telling her to have hope in their future. As Legolas pulls away, his eyes were a beautiful ocean blue; the eyes she loved dearly. Her own eyes were more blue than her normal brown; they seemed to hold that color since their bond. She knew Legolas would do anything to ensure their future. He loved her and she loved him. He was light; a constant hope for her. They spent the night speaking of plans after the defeat of Sauron; and after falling asleep, exhausted from battle.

Time Skip to Morning

Asteria visits Eowyn; who was fully recovered and sat in a window in her room. Eowyn didn't notice Asteria coming in "I heard you are feeling much better my friend" the elf maiden said softly as Eowyn turned to her with a sad smile "It's all thanks to you... You saved me..." As Asteria moves closer she could see through the window across the court yard a shadow; a shadow she knew too well, it was Faramir; watching but more importantly watching Eowyn.

Asteria smiled at this as the shield maiden did not notice yet "I would do anything to help you Eowyn. I may be an elf but you are my friend regardless if you are of man or not..." Eowyn nodded as she looked out the window noticing Faramir who gave her a kind yet sweet smile, she looked down and then away from the window "My heart... it hurts..." she said softly as Asteria took her hands in hers "Do not trouble your heart so... You shall not have anymore despair... I've seen it..." she admitted.

Eowyn looked at her confused before she spoke "You can see the future?" she questioned as Asteria shook her head "Not completely.. of what could pass.. the future is always changing but I will say this" she said placing hand on Eowyn's cheek "Do not close off your heart... You may not have gotten the love you'd hope but you will receive the love you need and you will cherish even more" her words rang through Eowyn as she smiled at her friend "Thank you Asteria..." she said softly embracing her in a hug as Asteria chuckles a little "Of course... Now make sure you rest still, and eat." She smiles at her as she bid her farewell for the moment; leaving Eowyn with the words of wisdom she left.

Asteria walked through Minas Tirith as she went to find Pippin; she found out that he managed to find Merry on the battle field wounded, she attended to her friends as well. She reached the room and can see Pippin sitting in a chair asleep by Merry's bed who was asleep himself. It made her smile as she made her way to Merry; sitting on the bed next to him placing a hand on his forehead whispering a few elven words which caused him to take a deep breath and open his eyes. He looked around for a moment before laying eyes on her "As..teria..." he said in almost a whisper. She smiled and placed a hand on his cheek "It's good to see you dear one... You'll be fine..." the whispers were enough to wake Pippin who jumped from the chair to the bed hugging his friend "You're awake!"

Asteria smiled watching the two as she spent a few hours with them. After a while, Gandalf came to check on the two hobbits and found she was there still. "Ah my dear. How are you faring?" he said as she turned to him smiling "I am quite fine Mithrandir... So is Merry" she smiled at the small hobbit in the bed "I'm feeling a lot better. Thank you" he said as color was slowly coming back to him. Gandalf smiled "That is quite wonderful to hear Meriadoc" he said softly as he turned to Asteria "We are having a gathering to discuss our next move against Sauron.. I would like you to join my dear." He said looking at her.

She looked to the two hobbits giving them a smile as she leaned down kissing both their heads "Rest up dear ones. I'll have someone bring you food and we will meet again later" they both nodded at her and smiled as she got up "Alright Mithrandir, let us go.." she said as she walked past him out the door with him in tow. They must find a way to stop Sauron so Frodo may finish his journey.
