✮⋆˙ In another universe

★ SATURDAY 15th JANUARY ★

THE AIR WAS ELECTRIC TONIGHT, bodies dancing in time to the beat of the electronic music blaring through the lit up DJ stand. Dancers were seductively swinging around the poles, drinks were flowing from the bar, strangers were full on making out in every hidden corner letting lust take over them

People were even shameless enough to do it right on the dance floor, wandering hands up skirts, wasted girls grinding their asses on the boys who looked equally as drunk

Dealers slipped pills into peoples awaiting palms, earing some quick somewhat easy money. People took the drugs without second thought, blissfully riding their euphoric high

Some girl had her arm wrapped around my neck as she tilted her head back and shook out her hair seductively. My lips found her throat, my confidence that was currently skyrocketing from my win, fuelled me

She grabbed my hair, forcing my mouth lower so it sat on her collarbone. The girl sighed, a sound filled with delight

From the corner of my eye I spotted Danny, lips attached to some random who's hands were all over her

Then suddenly I was completely focused on them

On her

One arm wrapped around his neck, deepening the kiss, and the other holding his chin. His back was against the wall, hand splayed against the small of her back, the other squeezing her ass

And then suddenly all the lust I had felt completely disappeared, replacing it with a sour feeling that felt too much like jealousy

"What's wrong sexy" The blonde purred, forcing my lips on here again. This time I didn't indulge her, just pulled away

"Sorry, be right back" I excused myself, slipping through the crowd to reach the bar

I quickly ordered a shot of something amber, downing it in one fast gulp. I would of got myself something proper to drink but i'm driving back so I can't exactly be drunk

The party still was roaring behind, despite me sitting on the sidelines, the music got louder, people got more enthusiastic.

"Not enjoying your win" A familiar voice drawled from behind me

I didn't even need to turn around to know who it was, Danny slipped past the guy that was next to me and rested her forearms against the bar

At An Rós it is common for girls to wear next to nothing, especially the eye candy that hung off of some of the important men here ( and Cobalt )

Danny was no exception to this unwritten rule, dressed in a black mini skirt that was adorned with a frill that barely covered her arse. A zip up tube top, the upper section around her boobs was a black and white zebra print. The material hugged to her body, form-fitting and flattering

Paired with zebra print heels that were higher than the Eiffel Tower. Showing off her long legs that were perfectly milky and smooth-

Stop looking at her like that lad

We hate her remember

Well... just because I hate her doesn't mean that I can't appreciate how good looking she is. Danny is downright sexy, the human embodiment of a femme fatale

Agh fuck, stop it

"Enjoying my win just fine Crimson" I answered, hoping she didn't notice how long my eyes lingered on her

She laughed, a sound that stood out from the blaring music "Yeah, sure does look like it"

I didn't have a response for that, just fiddled with the shot glass like it was the most interesting thing in the world

"A cosmo please" Danny ordered at the bar, nodding a thanks at a bartender who started mixing her drink

I gave her a sideways glance, eyes locking on her lips "Your lipstick smudged"

"Aww thanks Kieran-baby" She cooed, patting my cheek teasingly. Instinctively I batted her hands away

Where her fingers brushed against my skin, it felt as if I was touched by a live wire, feeling electric in all the best ways

I could also tell Danny was drunk off her face, given that she makes an outward point of not touching me when she's sober. That and the slight slur in her voice

When the bartender finally returned with her drink in her hand, Danny politely thanked him and took a long sip

I eyed her the whole time, watching as she brought the drink to her lips, how she tilted her head back and the way her hair cascaded down to her hips

"Next time, i'm going to win, and you'll be sulking like a bratty child after they lost at a game of snap" She snarks, setting the glass down to glare at me

"I'll believe when I see it" I remarked, throwing on a lazy smirk "And don't pout Crimson, it makes you look constipated"

She rolled her eyes "Oh ha ha, Panther"

I chuckled, running a hand through my already messy hair "So... who's the unlucky chump" I motioned to her still smudged lipstick

"I don't know" Danny slurred, waving her fingers in the direction of where she had just came from "He tasted nice though" Swirling her touch around her mouth, as if she remembering his taste "Mhmm, pineappley"

Oh she was drunk, drunk

"Your pissed ain't ya?" I jested, pointing the drink she just finished

Danny shook her head, once she finally stoped her gaze blurred like she disoriented herself with the movement "Maybe, maybe not. Why does it matter-"

Her mouth snapped shut when another song started blaring through the speakers, the familiar tune of 'RITMO' by Black Eyes Peas vibrated at the walls

Danny locked her eyes with me, like a debate had settled in her head as she reached her hand out to offer it to me, her eyes glinting with cheekiness "Dance?"

Before I could protest she continued

"Let's pretend for one night" She said, seeming rather adamant on the idea "Pretend we don't hate eachother. Let's just... forget and dance"

I raised an eyebrow "Why?"

Her lips twitched with a knowing smile, like she expected my scepticism "I just wanna have fun, let loose you know... don't you?"

I debated it, the words playing out in my imagination. Picturing what it would be like if we both just... let go

To be totally honest, I was fucking tired of constantly snapping at her every second, bared teeth and clenched fists

Maybe it was the alcohol, or the vibe but I found myself nodding

"Pretend" I confirmed, taking her soft hand in mine

She gleamed, a happy drunk smile that made me grin. Danny didn't wait a second, pulled me into the chaos on the dance floor, weaving us through the sweaty dancers that couldn't care less about being shoved about

The loud bass thumped at the floor, like a second heartbeak encouraging us on. The strobe lights bathed us in electric blue, crimson red, neon green light

People around us, spilled drinks, kissed others like they would forget their entire existence the next morning

And in the middle of it all was us

Dancing with no care, no worries or stress about the morning. Letting eachother guide our bodies about, the rest of the world faded away as we danced

The crowd swallowed us whole, we blended into the chaos. But yet we stood out to one another

Danny hooked her arms around my neck, my hands naturally found her waist, pulling her close against me

She smelt like cherries and dark vanilla, like mischief and bad decisions

And for once instead of her usual glare that she always gives me, she replaced it with a loud laugh with a bright grin that light up her face

"See! Isn't this fun?" She shouted over of the music

I chuckled, running a hand up her back, smirking more when I heard her breath hitch. My hands found hers and I span her

Like she was some sort of princess

And fuck, she laughed again

A unfiltered, beautiful sound, my ears were filled with her giggles as continued to spin

I hooked my hands around her hips again, thumbs resting perfectly in her back dimples. Her skin felt like silk, soft and smooth

Our bodies found a rhythm, the tension that always hung thick around us, shifted, changed into something completely different

Danny threw her hands in the air, tilting her head back, hair shining in the light. Her free and euphoric smile shone on her face, real in a way i've never seen before

My gaze didn't drift from her, completely locked and then her eyes found mine. Delicate hands wrapped back around my neck, keeping me close

We didn't break eye contact, we didn't look away. Just stared, hazel upon brown, kaleidoscope of brown, gold and green looking into deep chocolate.

Something unspoken passed between us

For once we weren't fighting, weren't pushing eachother to the limit, testing tempers and losing patience

And I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it

Because this, us in this club felt weirdly... right

Like perhaps hating eachother wasn't all that we were destined for, that maybe we could change

But that's stupid

Me and Danny didn't work, fire and ice remember

But maybe in another universe, maybe we could of been something... different

However, just for now we didn't care about grudges, we were just two people dancing in the neon light

The sharp glances and quick retorts would return tomorrow. We both knew it

But tonight, we danced

・❥・ Authors notes

Kinda sort of short chapter but I love it so whatever

Feel like my writing is a bit funky in this, but who cares

Also i know the song wasn't released in 2005 but it was so fitting and right
