Chapter 10

Lucas entered the class and searched for a certain blonde head but she isn't there.. He sighed as he walked out of the class and saw helly and jenny walking towards the class with Jenny holding her tennis racket..

"hii lucas..." they said in unison and he waved at them .

"hii.. Where is athy..?" he asked and they giggled since they already know what he is gonna ask .

"she is in the training room.. Go to archery training area"

jenny said as they waved bye to him and he started running there. He entered and saw athy practising..

He just stood there with a smile  and watched her aiming. She got another perfect score and sighed as she put her bow down and put her jacket on, lucas didn't wanted to disturb her and he walked back to the classroom ..then the bell rang and she went back to class...

She sit on her desk tired and turned to see lucas sitting beside her.. he handed her a water bottle.. She grabbed it a took a sip as she mumbled a thanks ...

" you are really good at archery.." he said staring at her ..

"huh.. You saw me..?! " she asked tilting her head. He nodded a yes

" of course I am playing for years dummy..." she said hitting his arm and he noticed and she slightly winced like her arm hurt ..

"how is your head..?" she asked and he lied down on the desk ...

"Haah.. Don't remind me of last night.. I feel like dying from embarrassment whenever I think about it..."

he mumbled his face still buried on the desk and she burst out laughing ..

" pfft.. why..? You are so cute.. " she said giggling as she patted his head...

" hey.. Can't you stop talking about it..?"he asked sitting up straight

" And.. Thanks. For last night. "he said looking away scratching his nape his cheeks slightly blushed and she stared at him smiling..

'pfft..I am wrong he have a cute side even when he is sober I am the one who don't know that until now ..' she thought .

" don't worry.. I won't.. "she said giggling. He looked up at her and smiled staring at her for a while and she turned and looked at front

'I still don't know how to stay calm around him when he stare at me like this.. Those damn attractive eyes..' she thought and flinched when he put his hand on her shoulder and gently pressed it giving her a massage . She turned towards him and he kept pressing her shoulder gently...

" why are you training so hard until your shoulders are this stiff.?" he said in a gentle voice as he gave her a massage.

" I have a match next week.." she mumbled ..

'wow.. This feels so good.. His hands are so strong and warm ..' she thought...

" how is it now..? " he asked. she turned and smiled at him.

" hmm..feeling much better.. Thanks lucas.." she said as she stretched her hand back and forth. He smiled back.

" don't practice too much before match.. I think you are doing well already .." he said and she nodded a yes smiling.

"Haah.. Yeah.. I must be trying too hard. I am tired" she said as she laid her head down on the desk ..

She got a call and Sat up swiftly...her face light up..

" mommy... Did you had lunch.?" she asked with a bright smile... Lucas stared at her with a smile.

'look at her beaming in happiness while talking with her mom...' he thought..

The class ended with them totally ignoring the lecture and chatting.. athy as usual rushed out of the class as she got late for her job..

Lucas went back home and saw grandpa struggling to start his car.

" grandpa.. What's up..?" he asked as he leaned down.

"lucas as usual this car is not working" he complained.. Lucas chuckled as he signalled him to move and he started the car.. He drive them to the hospital and grandpa slowly walked along with granny to the waiting area..

'hmm.. I thought about visiting her but I didn't expected it to be today' he thought with a smile as he walked towards a certain room

"aunty may I come in...?" he asked peeking inside and diana smiled brightly at him..

"oh my.. Lucas dear.. Come inside" she said with a bright smile... He smiled back as he walked inside and Sat beside her.

"aunty.. How are you...?" he asked

"I am doing well.. Thanks to my daughter working hard and paying my hospital bills.." she said with a sad smile.. He stared at her silently.

"don't worry aunty.. It's true she is working hard.. But she is also enjoying her uni life.." he said and she smiled.

" you are just saying that to make me feel better.. I know how hard it is for her..." she said in a sad tone.

" actually.. I have something to show you.. "

he said as he took out his phone.. He got reminded of the what happened that day..

That day when the programme was about to start he spot the cameraman and asked him to send the video of athy's dance privately to him and gave him commission..

He showed that video to diana and she can't stop smiling as she watched the video.. She then showed lucas athy's childhood photos her old dance videos and more.. They were chatting for so long and were deep in thier conversation that they didn't noticed athy was standing at the door staring at them with a happiest smile..

When lucas was about to turn she hide behind the door and wiped her tears... She was too happy that her eyes teared up.. She opened the door and entered the room.

"what are you Guys talking about.. Without me...?" she asked pouting as she Sat on the corner of the bed.

" lucas showed me your dance video.." she said smiling and athy stared at him surprised .

"you recorded it...?! " she asked and he nodded a yes.

"yeah.. He recorded it so that he can show that to me.." diana said smiling at lucas. He received a call from grandpa..

" mom.. You showed all this photos.?!! " athy asked staring at her mother's phone and diana giggled..

" yep I did.. "she said and athy pouted..she was about to scold her mom but lucas came back..

" are you busy lucas..? Are you going.? "diana asked with a puppy face

" no aunty. It's the opposite, I am staying in the hospital tonight .. I came here with grandpa and grandma but grandma have to stay for the night.. "he said.

" why..? Is granny OK.? "athy asked concerned..

" yeah she is..she is just being adamant on staying.. You know about her moodswings right.? So the doc let her stay "he said as he   sit.

" then. You should stay with me tonight.. "diana said grabbing his hand and he smiled nodding a yes.. She started chatting with him enthusiastically.. Lucas saw athy sneekily going outside but continued to chat with her. Soon diana got tried and fell asleep.

Lucas tucked her under the bed sheet and walked out to see athy talking to a nurse.. She then walked towards the garden and Sat on the bench staring at the sky then sighed..

" did something happen..? " she turned to see lucas sitting beside her..

"nothing.." she mumbled...

Athy's. P. O. V..

"your face says there is something"

he said staring at me and I was silent.. I thought he would ask again like my friends but he didn't he is just Sitting beside me and staring at the sky.. Silently.

I had a doubt but I  am sure of it now.. Whenever I am with him, I feel safe and comforted.. Yeah, Even though he is silent.. Him just  sitting beside me feel so comforting.. Whenever I feel down I sit on  this same place staring at the sky.. But today he is sitting beside me giving me company.. I suddenly felt like I want to pour out all the worries I am trying to bury deep inside me to him..

" i heard a happy news and sad news at the same time so I don't know what to do. I am confused.. Worried and.. Sad but so happy at the same time"

I said and he turned towards me and patted my back. He didn't talked even now...

" the doctor said my mom is better now and I can take her home she only needs monthly checkups from now on.." I said smiling and he smiled back.

" that's a good thing.. Aunty will be so happy" he said smiling.

"yeah.. I am so happy.. I always prayed for this day to come.." I said and he smiled

"them.. What's the sad news...?" he asked in a gentle voice I have ever heard from him.

" I need to pay the final settlement bills then only I can discharge mom. And it's an amount I can't pay now.. And may be not soon" I said and he nodded a yes silently.

"Haah.. When something good happen. Bad thing would always tag along.."

I said and he stared at me silently.

"hmm.. You want to settle the money on your own...then we should look for a way "

he mumbled.. I was surprised by how he completely understood me.. Yeah it's not like I can't pay.. If I ask help from uncle or if jennete or helena knew about this they would insist they will pay the bills.. That's exactly why I never talk about mom openly to them.. I just told them mom is sick and resting at lily's house..

I don't want to be in debt of others.. It may sound too prideful of me when I am struggling.. But that's how I am.. My mom also..when dad died she didn't asked help from anyone and raised me alone all by herself.. I am also like her.. I can handle my problems.. Like he said I just need to find a Way... Still it's amazing how he sync with me so well.

"exactly.. That's what I am thinking about.." I mumbled.

We Sat there in silence.. Of course it's a comfortable silence.. Then we heard thunder sounds and a bright flash lightning.. In two seconds rain poured down heavily as if the sky got teared up hearing my story..?

"wow.. Even the sky is crying for me...?! " I mumbled and he giggled.

" let's go inside.." he said as he grabbed my hand and dragged me inside.. I don't want to come inside you idiot.. I stopped walking and he turned back at me

"Haah... Why..? I just want to get drenched  in the  rain until I am dripping wet ... It would feel good if the rain pressed down over  my whole body.."

I said staring outside and he suddenly pulled me towards him.. And hugged me tight.

Bathump.. Bathump...

"lucas..?" I called his name as I tried to get part from the hug but he tightened it even more... Then for some  reason I don't want to part away ... It's Warm..

" yeah. It would feel good if you get drenched in rain but...if  your mom see you like that she would be sad.. So you can use the other ways   you know..."

he said and I felt like crying.. No I really started crying.. His body is big enough to fully cover me and I felt so warm and comforted that I feel like crying.. I hugged him back tight and buried my face on his shoulder as I cried my heart out.. He didn't said anything after that as he gently patted my head... When did this jerk turned into such  a nice guy.? Why is he treating me so kind..? I... I feel so weak when he is like this .. I want to rely more on him.. I want to get comforted by him.. Always.. This is bad... I parted from the hug and wiped my tears...

"Haah.. I really don't want to cry... I don't know why am I being  like this..."

I said sniffing and finally gathered courage to look at him in the eyes and he was staring at me smiling. I felt so releived..yeah relieved.. I would have hated it if he stared at me with pity. So I am glad he isn't..

" here.. Your eyes are puffy. You can't even enter your mom's room at this rate.." he said handing me his kurchief and I sniffed my nose as I touched my cheek and I think it's really puffy.

" oh no. What to do now.?" I said cupping my face and he giggled

" why are you  giggling you jerk.. is this funny to you  ..? " I was about to hit him but he dodged.

"huh.. You dodged.?! Come here.. I am so pissed right now.. I can't calm down until I hit you ."

I said  chasing after  him as  he started running.. The sound of the rain was too loud for others to hear us and here I am going round and round chasing this jerk.. He is damn fast.. He would always walk like sloth look at him running like a cheetah  now...but soon  I realised I am not feeling that sad now.. All thanks to this idiot.
