Chapter 20 - Revealed

I scratched my head in annoyance. The thing I hated the most was waking up early in the morning. "Morning Dad, morning Mom," I said as I entered the kitchen. Both of them were sitting at the dining table and were eating their breakfast. "Have a nice school day." my dad said as I left the house.

As if. As if I can have a nice school day on a Monday after holidays.

The only thing that made me feel happy is when I remembered the conversation I had with Oliver yesterday. That's right, I got a call from him yesterday evening.

"Hello Oliver, how are you?" I asked after I picked up the call. "I am fine, just wanted to let you know some things," he said and made me curious. "After your boyfriend gave me a beating, I think he actually made me realize my mistakes," he said and I smiled. "I wanted you to know, that I want to start over with Hana and this time, with honesty."

"That's so sweet. Did you tell Hana everything?" I asked. "Well, yes. She was a bit sad and started to cry but I managed to mold her and she agreed to start anew" he said. "You don't know how nervous I was while telling her the truth, I wasn't even this nervous while asking her out" he jokingly said and laughed.

"I gotta go now, I am meeting Hana in half an hour," he said. "I wish you all the best and I must say that I am happy about your decision. Goodbye" I said and was about to hang up. "Wait," he said. "Yes?"

"The next time when we will come, I'll pay back to your boyfriend," he said and I laughed. "Oh really? I think that even if you try doing something, he will win in the end" I said jokingly.

While thinking, I hadn't even realized that I had reached the school gate.

"Morning, Soo Min" somebody said and wrapped their arm around my shoulder. I looked and was greeted by Minji, who always seemed to be in a good mood and Siwon, who was next to her. "I hate Mondays," I said and we walked to the class together. After entering class, I saw Jonghyun talking to his friends. He looked at me and smiled to which I smiled back.

"Class, I will assign you to do a project in groups of two," the teacher said as he entered. "Yahoo" I muttered sarcastically and Minji chuckled. "I will read your partners out loud now," the teacher said and put up his glasses to have a better view of the list he was holding.

"Minji - Jihoo"

"Eun byul - Minjae"

"Jonghyun - Siwon"

"Soo Min - Jae Wook"

Wait, what? Jae Wook as in Kim Jae Wook? The schools beloved flower boy? I wonder if he even knew who I was. He was one of these rare people who were famous in school even though they were not idols. Since so many idols went to this school, they totally took the attention normal famous high schooler would get. But he somehow had managed to be well known here.

I turned around and looked at Jae Wook. He had dyed his hair blond and dark brown eyes. He looked at me, smiled, the same smile which made girls like him and returned back to his work. I turned back and looked at Minji who was busy arguing with the teacher. She wanted to switch partners.

In lunch break, I decided to go to him and ask how we were going to do the project. Slowly, I crept my way to his table, where the other popular people sat. "Kim Jae Wook? Can I talk to you about something?" I asked and the whole table turned their attention to me. "Guys, she is here to talk about the project, you don't have to pay attention to us," Jae Wook said and the others continued with their business.

"So about the project," I said. "Yeah, right. How about we meet up and decide everything then?" he asked and I nodded. "Do you want to come over to my house?" he asked and I thought. "No, let's go to my place," I said and after that, I went to join the SHINee members for lunch at their table. Actually, I wanted to meet at my place because I am not sure if I should go to a random dudes place and my parents wouldn't allow me to go at any guys place except at SHINee's apartment.

"So Jae Wook is your partner?" Key asked and I nodded as I took a bite of my lasagna. "My mom wants to invite you guys for dinner on Friday, is that okay with everyone?" Onew asked and looked at every member. "No, I have plans on Friday," Jonghyun said. "No, he is free on Friday," I said and Jonghyun looked at me confused.

"We can go on Thursday or Saturday," I said and he chuckled. "You and your kindness," he said and pinched my cheek. "Where were you guys going?" Minho asked. "On a date," Jonghyun said. "Ahhh," everybody said in unison. "I will only tag along if Soo Min can come with us" Jonghyun. "Sure, sure, no problem," Onew said.

And so, school ended. I was standing in front of the gate, waiting for Jae Wook. I saw him walking out with some friends, laughing. "Guys, see you soon," he said and bid his goodbye. "Let's go," he told me and we walked to my house. After about half an hour we reached our destination. I must say, we didn't really have a conversation.

"Dear, are you back home? Oh, who is this?" My mom said as we entered my house. "Mom, this is a classmate, we are working on a project together." I said. "Good afternoon," Jae Wook said "Oh, okay then I won't disturb you," my mom said as she walked away.

"So what should our topic from the project be?" he asked as he plopped on my bed. "How about something from astrology?" I asked. "Good idea," he said and took out a notebook. I heard my phone buzz and I smiled, after I saw that I had gotten notifications from new story votes from my book.

"Did something good happen?" he asked me and I nodded. "But I won't tell you what I saw on my phone" I playfully said and put my finger in front of my lips. "That makes me curious. Tell me what it was"

"Not telling," I said again and he looked at my with puppy eyes. "I don't know if I should say it," I said thoughtfully. "I won't say it to anybody. Promise" he said and I gave in. "You know, I am writing an online book"

"No way!" he said astonished. "Yeah, and I just got many story votes," I said with a grin. "I can't believe it, can I read your story?" he asked and I nodded. I took my laptop, went to my story and gave him it. For the next half an hour I was sitting next to him, while he was reading and waiting what kind of reaction he had.

"This is way too good," he said. "Wait, why did it suddenly end?" he asked shocked. "I haven't updated the new chapter yet, that's why" I said. "No, I want to continue reading, I don't want to wait," he said and pouted. "I'll update soon, I am finished with writing the new chapter," I said.

"Really? Can I read it?" he asked. "No way, you also have to wait like the others" I mischievously said. "Come on," he said. "Nope," I said. "Soo Min, Oppa is here to see you" Eun hee as she suddenly barged in. She looked at Jae Wook and her eyes widened. "Oppa? Who is your Oppa?" Jae Wook asked. "Just the neighborhood boy," I said and Eun hee looked relieved. "I will go and ask him what he wants," I said and hurried outside.

I went downstairs and saw Jonghyun sitting in the living room while doing something on his phone. "Hey, Soo Min," he said. "Sorry, put you gotta go," I said and he looked at my confused. "What?"

"My project partner is sitting in my room and he may see us," I said and he nodded his head. "I don't like this," he said. "What?" I said and checked if Jae Wook hadn't come downstairs. "It feels like I am doing a crime and I can't let people see me," he said and I looked at him with a sad expression. "Well, this is something we can't do anything about," I said and Jonghyun kissed my cheek before walking out.

I walked back to my room and found Jae Wook playing games on my phone. "Shall we continue?" he said and we started to work on our project. About two hours later, we had finished half of our work. "We work fast," I said and Jae Wook grinned in agreement. "How about we finish the rest later," he asked and I nodded.

After that, he left. That afternoon, Hyorin barged into the room with an unsure face. "What happened now?" I asked, 100 percent sure that it had something to do with Kim Jae Jong. "I don't know, it's unexplainable," she said and put her hand on her chest. "It's thumping"

"What?" I asked confused. "My heart is thumping uncontrollably and I don't know why. It's all because of him." she whispered. "Don't act stupid, you know why." I said and she looked at me emotionless. "That means..."

"Your heart just told you who you like," I said and chuckled. "I can't believe it. Hyorin is in love" I mocked and she smacked my head. "This day can't get any better," I said and laughed. "I don't think it's because I like him," she said and I stopped laughing. "Seriously? Think about it because I think that my theory is correct" I said.

"Think about it alone. I'll just go and watch some TV" I said and went downstairs. I made myself comfortable on the sofa with some chips and drinks and turned on the television.

But what I saw on the TV made my eyes wide and mouth drop. "No, no, no. Please tell me I am dreaming!" I said and covered my eyes with my trembling hands. How? How did the media find out about it? My heart was beating way too fast and I was in a loss of words.

"Breaking news. SHINee's main vocalist Jonghyun confirmed to be dating Lee Soo Min, a normal high school girl." the reporter said.

I think, we just got revealed.
