Chapter 5

“You were always smiling, real friendly like, but the way you smiled was so empty it hurt to watch you.”

Obito sensei and the kids...🙄

Bleh... Anyway so... Back to the story.

No one's pov:

"Out of all the times you could have summoned me, you choose the best and right time, kyuubi." Naruto glared back at the red eyes.

"Oi brat! I called you here cause I have a proposal for you!" Kurama's head poked out from the darkness.

"I'm not letting you out of the cage" Naruto scowled.

"Tch! This brat! I already regret bringing you here. So as I was saying I have a proposal for you. I've seen how people treat you like a trash. And trust me, I've never seen a jinchuriki treated this badly by others. And I've never really seen you having proper social interaction. So here's the deal. You can come to me when things get too hard and you feel like you can't take anymore. In return, you will let me take over whenever I ask you to. Don't worry, I don't hate people like they taught you in the academy, so I won't attack unnecessarily. I will give you time to think. I will bring you here tonight. Oh.. and good luck on your test. I have high expectations of you, so don't disappoint me. Now go!" Kyuubi finished as Naruto started fading.

'Why is kyuubi so nice to me?' Naruto thought as he opened his eyes in the real world.

'I'm surprised that kid still have some humanity left inside of him after all that's happened. Especially after yesterday. Those bastards!I'll keep an eye on him and take over if things go out of hand like last night. Damn that sharingon user forcing me to attack the village. In my panic of being restrained, I killed both of his parents too. Dammit! I'm sorry Minato, Kushina. I'll stay by his side from now on.' Kyuubi closed his eyes.

(Oh did I mention Kurama is a good character in this story? The name of the story is revered roles, after all. In real story, Kurama was hatred and then turned nice. In my story, Kurama is nice in the beginning but started to lose his cool after continuously watching Naruto suffer and starts hating the whole world.)

3 hours of brooding, fangirling and daydreaming later:

"Yo!" A man jumped down from a tree.

"YOU'RE LATE", screamed Sakura. Naruto joined her forcing himself to keep the facade of an idiot.

"Sorry, but since I'm here let's get this started." Obito said, picking up two bells.

(Everything happened like in the series. Except it is Obito, instead of Kakashi. I would have written the bell test part too but I really hate that part. So instead I'll insert the video of bell test, so whoever have not watched Naruto yet, can still understand)

"Untie the rope", Naruto screamed.

But Sakura had dragged Sasuke and obito out of the training ground for a victory celebration.

They momentarily forgot about the blonde and let the girl drag them.

"They just talked about teamwork and then forgot about me!" He angrily said as his pupils turned blood red with slits and red chakra flaring like fire.

The ropes turned into ash and the wood he was tied up got a little burner up.

"Naruto! Calm down!", Said a voice in his head.

He instantly calmed down. That voice held authority, strictness.. and something other that Naruto couldn't quite decipher. Something like a parent's tone filled with anger, disappointment and a bit of love and gentleness while reprimanding their child.

He's heard this tone one time when he was playing in the park, a kid dirtied his shirt while playing with dirt and his mother scolding him about getting sick from all the possible germs in the soil. The tone matches the tone of a parent.

"Kyuubi?" Naruto asked, confused.

"Yeah, it's me brat. You can call me Kurama, by the way. That's my name. Now take your kunai and scrub off the charred part of the wood. We don't want anyone to find out you almost lost control." Kurama said.

"R-right!" Naruto said still not understanding why someone's on his side.

Kurama didn't say anything after that and the boy started to remove the evidence.

After he's done, he went back to his apartment. It was already getting dark so Naruto decided to get to bed as their missions starts the next day.

Just as he is about to sleep, Kurama pulled him into his mindscape again.

"So have you decided yet?" Kurama asked.

"Yeah. I'll do as you say." Naruto said. He's desperate. He didn't want to lose someone who seems to look out for him.

Kurama grinned. "Remember Naruto, whatever you want to do in your life, you'll always have my support."

Naruto nodded his head. He suddenly jumped and ripped off the seal. Kurama looked at him surprised. Suddenly the sewage changed into that of a thick forest and a huge cave.

"I didn't like how cramped the cage looked. So I thought I'd change it into something vast. I hope you like it. Thanks for accepting me."

Kurama noticed how emotionless and dull he looked when he spoke. A single tear rolled down from his left eye was the only indication that he cried. Like there's no life and light left in him.

'Is this because he feels like he's left behind by his team?' Kurama thought.

Kurama brought one his tails around the boy and wrapped him. He then proceeded to tell the boy about his parents, how he was forced to attack Konoha and how his parents saved everyone by sealing him in Naruto.

He had expected some sort of reaction from Naruto, but...

"I couldn't care less about what happened. I'm not even surprised at this point, knowing the fourth hokage is my dad. The village keep me in the dark about everything and nothing about them interest me anymore. In fact, I hate the fourth hokage for defending spineless people like them, putting me in this situation. I can't believe that bastard choose the village over his own son. HE'S NOT MY DAD. I DON'T HAVE A DAD. I DON'T WANT SOMEONE LIKE THEM AS MY PARENTS. It's just... it's just feels like things would still be same even if they're alive. They'll always choose villagers over me."

By now, Naruto had already started crying. Kurama frowned but didn't say anything. He just held Naruto even closer. Kurama had no idea this is how Naruto felt. And he actually didn't know what to say to prove him otherwise.

Somewhere in the woods near Konoha:

Two shinobis were backing away from a gravity-defying-silver-gray haired man, in black clocks with red cloud marks.

They continued to back away until their back hits the tree.

"We'll well what do we have here?" The man chuckled lightly as he continued to corner the two chunins.

"P-please let u-us go" one said and the other vigorously nodded, both raising their hands as a sign of defeat.

Out of no where, two katanas tore through the air targeting one raised hands of each chunins.

The blades pierced through their flesh on their wrist as it completely cut through the wood behind them, pinning each of their hands on the tree. Their screams filled the silence of the forest, but alas, there weren't anyone who could save them from the S-rank ninja standing before them.

"Hmm... I remember a boy pleading you to let him go in the same position you are in now, except that both his hands were pinned on the wall." The man said as he concentrated chakra in his palms.

Chirping of thousands of birds filled the silence as the man walked towards the two shinobis.

"I would love to stay and play with you more, like you did to that kid, but unfortunately, I must head back to the base. You hurt sensei's son. So I'm going to send you to afterlife. I'm sure Minato sensei and Kushina-san love to deal with you more than I. Good bye."

He said as he aimed for both of their hearts. "Chidori!"

The lightning cutter pierced their chests as their last screams died out, leaving two limp bodies handing down from the tree trunk with katanas, as the black clocked figure turned around and walked away from the woods.
