30: Harry Potter Captured

07:45, 20 September 2021

Today is the day that Draco comes back from Easter holiday.

You were waiting for today ever since when you first step into the Room of Requirements.

Both of you agreed that he would sneak out from his dorm and come pick you up.

Of course, you also told Neville about this and that you've been staying with him before you came back to the Room of requirements.

Neville and all the other students in the room almost killed you right then and there. But they still trust you since Draco hasn't led the Carrows' to them.

You quietly walk out of the Room of Requirements, trying not to wake anyone up.

You were kind of expecting him to be waiting in the seventh floor waiting, but he wasn't there.

So you decided to sneak around, to see if you would spot him.

Wearing the cloak that you enchanted with the Disillusionment Charm when you first arrived at Hogwarts months ago.

You tried to be as discreetly as possible, trying not to be heard by anyone.

As you walk in the black hallways, barely any light emitted into them.

As you walked to a corner, you heard footsteps. You listened in closely, to see if it was the rhythm of footsteps you knew.

Unfortunately for you, it wasn't.

You quickly ran back to where you started.

Unfortunately for you, as you run, you can hear fast footsteps following not far behind.

You didn't know who it was, but you realise that if you got caught, things would not go too well for you.

You ran as fast as you could until you reached a part of the hallway that was pitch black while the rest of the corridors, at last, had a little bit of moonlight.

You stepped into the darkness, hoping that your cloak will be able to help you blend into the black part of the road.

You pushed your back to the wall, stepping back into the dark as deep as you can.

You listened as the footsteps got closer, as the moonlight shined onto that particular man's face, you realize it's Severus Snape.

Your push your back to the walls more even though your entire body is already sticking to the wall, nervous that he will see you.

From what you knew, he was the new headmaster of Hogwarts, meaning he was on Voldemort's side.

But...

You also knew that he was the one who was a part of Dumbledore's plan, also meaning that... Dumbledore trusted him.

But you weren't sure if you can trust him, so you remained by the walls.

Snape paused a few feet away from you, looking around for anything, searching the thing that he followed, at least that was what you thought.

"Show yourself." He spoke in the silent hallways.

His eyes were staring front to the spot you were hiding in, as if he could clearly see you, staring into your eyes.

There was nowhere left to run, you knew even if you remained silent, he already knew that you were there.

You took a step into the light, removed the hood of the cloak as you walked forward.

Snape wasn't surprised to see you at all, you can tell that he was expecting it to be you.

Nothing was said between the two of you, just the silent void filling the air.

"Follow me." He said, not explaining anything.

And you did as he ordered, you wouldn't be able to win even if you fought back.

Your instincts told you that you had to follow him.

Snape might hand you over to the Death Eaters or help you.

Your brain was telling the earlier scenario seemed more possible. But somehow, you believed that it would be the latter scenario he was going to do.

There was always something about Snape that made you felt sympathy for him. His walls were always up, but you would always notice his walls crumpled down whenever he saw Harry. Even though he was constantly treating Harry badly, you could tell he cared for him. You didn't know the reason why he would felt like that. You didn't know why he would treat Harry so badly even when he cared about him, but you could tell his feelings were sincere.

Even when you told Hermione and Harry about this, they both looked at you like you were crazy and just shrugged it off thinking you were joking.

Both of you come to another corner when Severus stopped. You didn't know why he stopped, so you tried to glance from his back.

You can't really see anything since he was already blocking more than half of your view.

"Not so quick." You heard Snape commanded as he paused.

"Malfoy." He continued.

Your eyes widened.

Draco. It was Draco.

Before you could think of anything bad happening to you, he spoke up again.

"Since you're here, why don't you take her with you?" What he said took you by surprise.

Snape moved out of the way, revealing you to Draco.

You could tell that relief hit him, seeing you made him more relaxed.

But then his shoulders tensed up again, now only realising the headmaster found you.

As you stared into his grey crystal eyes, you could tell there was a lot that happened back home. He was going to tell you much when you were alone.

"Go on now, before other people find both of you." The headmaster said, breaking the silence.

You hesitantly walked to Draco's side watching the dark-haired headmaster walk away.

"Are you alright? Are you hurt? Did he do anything to you?" You felt yourself being spun around by the shoulders to face Draco.

His eyes were so afraid. He was panicking.

He was holding your shoulders, eyes searching for any bruises or injuries.

You quickly reach for his arms, letting him touch you to let him know that you were unharmed.

"I'm fine, Draco." You added.

As he felt your touch, his tenseness quickly subsided. He breathed out a sigh of relief, pulling you into his embrace.

His arms around you were tight, to the point it was slightly hurting you.

But there was something wrong with him.

"Are you okay?" You asked, gently rubbing his back, attempting to comfort him.

You heard him releasing a breath of relief.

"I am now." He said, leaning into your touch.

After you both entered his room, he quickly explained everything that happened in the Manor. Of course including the part where The Golden Trio was captured by Snatchers into his home.

"Harry, Hermione and Ron were there?" You asked, shocked to hear the news.

"Yeah, Potter had a stinging jinx cast on his face. So they wanted me to identify him." He said, mind flashing back to that day.

Upon receiving news about Potter being inside his home, he was immediately called to determine if he really was the chosen one.

As Draco entered the room, a boy with almost the most hideous face was held within the clutches of his aunt. Granger and Weasley was also there. If they were both here, that could only mean that Potter could not be far behind.

At first he didn't recognize him until his aunt claimed that it was Harry Potter she was holding. As he got a closer look, he could not even deny that it was him, because it clearly was.

But he can't expose him here, if he did, it would be all over.

He made a promise to himself that he would fight for you, to make sure you wouldn't have to live in a terrifying world roamed with Death Eaters and to live in hiding for the rest of your life.

So he told the Death Eaters that he wasn't sure.

As he stared into Potter, he could tell that the Golden Boy knew that he was lying to help him. But he said nothing more as his father called for the Dark Lord.

This was bad, if Voldemort came, there was no doubt that Potter was going to be killed.

But Draco couldn't think of anything to help him escape.

He watched as they argued over the Sword of Gryffindor, and witnessing the demise of Granger.

For the first time in his life, he actually felt bad for her. He clenched his fist as his aunt started to use her dagger to hurt her and the muggle-borns voice echoed the room.

It wasn't until a few minutes later, Potter and Weasley managed to break out of the prison chamber, engaged in fighting with Draco and his family.

Their fight came to a halt when Bellatrix held the Mudblood with her wand pointing by her neck.

Fearing the threat that might come to the girl, their wands were quickly dropped to the ground.

Draco could only do as he was told and picked their wands from the ground.

As his father called for the Dark Lord, Draco felt the need to look up.

He glanced up to see an elf on the chandelier.

Isn't that Dobby?

In this situation, Draco couldn't believe that he felt kind of happy to see his childhood friend.

Growing up, Dobby was ever the only friend he had in the Manor. And during his second year, somehow he was released. Draco was happy for Dobby, but at the same time, he was sad. Because he lost a friend that day.

He just watched Dobby tried to unscrew the chandelier.

Finally, it fell, causing the whole room to be in chaos.

And in the midst of that moment, Harry took the opportunity to take his wand back from Draco.

Draco didn't do anything to stop him from snatching those wands, but then he realized that Potter took his wand too. It was too late as he watched Dobby teleported all of them out of the Manor.

Draco finished telling about everything that happened in his home during the Easter holiday.

He was facing down to the bed that both of you were sitting on.

"I'm sorry I couldn't do more to help them." Draco apologized, shocking you.

Draco felt guilty, Harry was the hope of the Wizarding world. And yet he almost exposed him in front of his fellow Death Eaters, sentencing him to death.

"I could've-"

"Draco! You've done brilliantly." Your voice raised, sounded heartbroken.

Draco seemed surprised to see you lash out again.

You didn't want to seem like you were upset, so you took a deep breath and your palms reached his cheeks.

"Draco... You actually helped him. If it weren't for you, I think he probably couldn't have escaped so easily." You softly rubbed his cheeks.

Draco leaned himself into your palms, his hands covered yours, his lips connected to your palms.

"Thank you... Amorlia." He suddenly said.

Surprised by the sudden gratitude.

"For what?" you asked curiously.

"For being here for me." He pressed his head on yours.

You could feel your lips tugged upwards at the sides.

"I'll always be here if you need me. We'll always stick together, right?" You told him sweetly.
