"You need a new car," Perth said casually.

"Why? My Proton Persona is perfectly fine," I said.

"It is not safe enough. You can keep it, but after we check every part of that car, then we can modify it together and you can have it like I have my other older cars, it's a good investment," he said firmly.

"So what car should I drive then, in your opinion?" I joked.

"I'm not sure yet," he answered and grabbed his phone. Then he added, "Let me check and do some research."

"Perth, I don't have that kind of money, I mean I do, but I am not spending it on a car, especially not right now that I just bought the apartment in the center," I said.

"I told you, you can use my apartment. I gave you the keys after only two months of working together," he reminded me.

"Perth, are you by chance already looking for cars?" I asked, because he faded away on the screen like he always did when it was about cars...

"Mhm. It will be a gift for our one-year anniversary of working together in July, although it will probably come a little earlier," he said casually.

"What? Are you fucking crazy... what gift, a gift to myself?" I asked, surprised and a little bothered.

"No, a gift from me to you," he answered like he was buying me lunch.

"You can't buy me a car. Are you insane?" I protested.

"I just did. Well, almost... I made an appointment and you are going with me," he said seriously, and I knew I didn't have a chance to change his mind.

Later, when the fans asked me about the new car, we avoided direct answers. We said Perth helped me choose it and everything, but we lied because I didn't buy it, Perth did it for me as a one-year anniversary gift.
