part 17. epilogue

After what seemed like forever, Issei got his soul mate back, Evelyn was finally happy, now whenever she would open her eyes her mother would be right there. All the dragons were set free from their sacred gears, great red and Ophis recovered their strength and lived on the largest mountain in the dragon's territory. Ddraig and Tiamat became mates and had a clutch of eggs, Ddraig was overjoyed, now he knows how Issei felt when Evelyn was born. Those who fought the new beast were welcomed there. Together they revealed their existence to the human world, they were told everything about all religions, mythologies, dragons, other creatures of myth and legends but when they heard about God being dead certainly dealt a blow but they still prayed because there is proof of the afterlife and their actions would determine which afterlife they would get. They were blessed to be allowed contact to those they lost. The very image of angels, fallen, devils etc was very different than what the humans had, it would take a long time for them to get over it. Issei still felt guilty but not as much as before sense it all turned out well in a way. The past users of the dragon sacred gears live a peaceful and interesting life, Issei and Vali would spar every now and then, the occasional dragon vs devil fight was fun for all. Issei and Kuroka went to talk to Kiba one day.

Kuroka: general Kiba, may we speak with you?

Kiba: oh come now, no formalities between us 3. What's up?

Issei: we quit.

Kiba: what?

Kuroka: you heard us, we quit. Issei and I need to be with our daughter, we served for years and I think we did enough.

Kiba: sigh....you did more than enough, both of you went above and beyond. As of this moment you two are discharged with the highest honours, you're already legends among the forces, so much so that both of you are the platinum standard.

Issei: tell them to be themselves, they could do more that way.

Kiba: sure, both of you will have a hefty pension and if there's anything else you want then ask us anytime.

Issei: thanks Kiba and us?

Kiba: yeah, after everything you two went through, all of us decided that everyone owes you two a great debt that they will happily spend the rest of eternity trying to pay back.

Issei: they already helped stop the new beast and you guys helped me get her back so I think we're all debt free.

Kuroka: you haven't changed a bit lover.

Kiba: btw Issei, we heard about your mom and dad dying during the attack... we're sorry for your loss.

Issei: thanks but my family and I got special permission to visit them in heaven.

Kiba: I'm glad, also we have taken the liberty to reconstruct your old home just like it was before.

Issei: thanks man, I appreciate it, does that mean everyone will be moving back in?

Kiba: not this time Issei, it'll be like the house you grew up in. You two may have retired but the rest of us haven't. There's going to be a celebration soon regarding your return.

Kuroka walks over to Kiba and gives him a friendly kiss on the cheek.

Kuroka: Kiba thank you for everything.

Kiba: it's the least I can do.

Kuroka: adios general.

As she walks away Kiba looks at Issei who was glaring at him and had a dark aura around him. Kiba turned white, even the souls that merged with him during Kokabiel's attack were telling Kiba to keep away.

Issei: I know she kissed your cheek as a gesture of appreciation but if you get any ideas then you'll have a 3rd beast ready to kick your ass. Are we clear?

Kiba: y...ye..yes..

Issei: welp, adios. Say hi to Tsubaki for us.

He walks out the door.

Kiba: note to self, NEVER anger him.

Several months later.

Issei and Kuroka decided to get married once Issei becomes a high class devil which wasn't long, both became super devils soon after. Issei once again broke the record for quickest promotion. His first record was being promoted to high class devil within 2 years of being reincarnated and now returning from the dead to become a pawn to super devil within months.

Rias: so Issei how does it feel to be my pawn again?

Issei: nostalgic.

Rias: I still think about the time you saved me from that forced marriage.

Issei: yeah... Riser won the first match but we won in the end.

Rias: yeah, it was one hell of a fight.

Issei: it really was.... Hey Rias?

Rias: yeah?

Issei: thanks for making me your pawn, I don't think I would have found happiness if you didn't despite the method you used.

Rias: what are you talking about?

Issei: don't play dumb Rias, it doesn't suit you. Haha. You had Koneko follow me around when Raynare appeared, your familiar giving out those pieces of summoning paper, "saving" me from her.

Rias: ....

Issei: pfft.. haha relax Rias, I'm not angry at all. I'm happy because I got to have a family, amazing friends and a long life that keeps me on my toes. No more hiding the truth from anyone. Life is good.

Rias: I'm glad you don't hate me for what I did...thanks.

Issei: no prob red. So what did I miss while I was getting a new body?

Rias: well during your "funeral" everyone gave a heartfelt eulogy, Rossweisse confessed that she had a crush on you.

Issei: really?

Rias: yup, she wasn't the only one who felt like that though. Some of us girls felt the same.

Issei: yeah..I know but I fell for Kuroka, you were my master, Irina is a childhood friend, Xenovia was still unsure about what she wanted in life, Akeno is like the big sister I never had, Koneko and Asia are the sassy and innocent little sisters respectively. Ravel too, Rossweisse should be with someone whom she loves, not whom she has a crush on.

Rias:..... Even after all this time you're still the same Issei we know yet so different. You went from wanting a harem to all this.

Issei: I grew up Rias. We all did but I'm sure none of us expect to deal with what we did.

Rias: that's true... So what now?

Issei: well I'm going to ask Kuroka to marry me and this time everyone will be there when the time comes.....still can't believe she loves a perv like me hahaha

Rias: you're not a pervert anymore, she loves you as you are and would have loved you even if you were a perv like the old days. You two would have had a couple of kids though....

Issei: yeah....she wanted a big family, we had that and I didn't even know....

Rias: sorry....I shouldn't have brought it up.

Issei: it's okay, they are in heaven and happy with my parents. Just wish I could see them grow up.

Rias: at least you still have Evelyn, you know during the clone attack, she snuck away to find you and Kuroka without everyone at the household knowing. She has talent.

Issei: just like her mother, I'm so proud.

Rias: it's good to see you smile again and I've noticed that you don't smell like booze anymore. Haha

Issei: yeah I quit drinking, I want to remember the time I will have with everyone. I've drank enough for a lifetime.

Rias: I'm proud of you Issei. Hey I just remembered, the humans are joining the 3 factions, our numbers aren't a problem anymore, they are learning magic and little by little the humans are fixing their problems such as shelter, food, pollution etc.

Issei: that's a relief, I gotta go. I owe Kuroka a date while Evelyn spends time with everyone else and please don't follow me like you did when I went out with Akeno that one time.

Rias: wait you saw us?

Issei: you wearing sunglasses, Koneko wearing a tiger mask, Gasper with the paper bag over his head, Xenovia wearing a surgical mask and Asia wearing a hat does not mean stealth.

Rias:........ Not our finest moment.

Issei: agreed. See ya red.

Rias: alright Issei, see ya later.

He leaves and goes on a long date with his soul mate, they had their own home, peace, time, love, money etc. Issei had a stroke of genius after the date, Issei took her to a private beach and lit a bonfire. It was perfect under the stars.

Kuroka: finally we can enjoy our lives in peace.

Issei: yeah. Hey cat?

Kuroka: yes?

He takes out a ring.

Issei: will you marry me?

He got on one knee.She smiled.

Kuroka: yes of course I will.

Issei: YOU HEAR THAT GUYS? SHE SAID YES.

The illusion of an empty beach disappeared and everyone surrounded them. Dragons, angels, fallen, devils etc

Everyone: CONGRATULATIONS!!

Kuroka: wait you planned this?

Issei: yeah, I wanted everyone to be there this time, a part of me still can't believe you said yes twice.

Kuroka: believe it.

They kissed and everyone cheered.

Ddraig: that's my partner. Haha

Kuroka: wait how did I not notice everyone hiding in plain sight?

Evelyn came forward.

Evelyn: I used illusion magic.

Kuroka: I'm so proud of you Eve.

Issei: our little girl is a prodigy.

Rossweisse: she's already as good as I was when I was her age.

Evelyn: then can you teach me?

Rossweisse: I'd be happy to.

Issei: hey Ddraig, I heard that you and Tiamat are about to become parents.

Ddraig: correct partner. We are and I now know how you felt when you became a father.

Everyone began celebrating all night. The adults drank, Evelyn practiced her magic just for fun, Kuroka watched proudly. Issei held her in her arms and couldn't stop smiling.

Kuroka: I noticed you didn't drink like everyone else.

Issei: I'm done drinking, I want to remember this night.

Kuroka: so where do you want to get married?

Issei: anywhere you want to.

Kuroka: how about we get married in Kyoto? We can meet my sister's mate as well.

Issei: yeah, that sounds perfect and I've met him before, he's a great guy. He treats her right and I've already threatened him to be good to her on your behalf.

Kuroka: hahahahahhaaahaaha thanks Issei.

After a month or two they got married, Milicus was the ring bearer, Yasaka married them off, all those who knew the newly married couple attended the wedding, Ddraig and Tiamat brought their hatchlings with them, Milicus got to know Kouno and they certainly bonded. Crom came to Issei,

Crom: well congrats on getting married.

Issei: thanks Crom.

Tiamat: Issei and Kuroka, we have a request.

Kuroka: name it.

Ddraig: you took the words right out of our mouths, haha. Well we could he honoured if you named one of our 4 hatchlings.

Issei: are you sure Ddraig? This should be something between you and Tiamat.

Tiamat: it's our wish. We want you two to decide one.

Kuroka: we would be honored. How about we name one of your daughters as Cassiopeia?

Issei: that's a nice name.

Tiamat: I love it.

Ddraig: yes, I think it suits her perfectly. Thanks you two.

I&K: any time.

Irina shows up.

Irina: hey guys it's time for a group photo.

Kuroka: umm Irina how will everyone here fit in a tiny photo?

Irina: the Grigori and Ajuka created the most amazing camera, it uses magic to take a massive photo of everyone here and we'll print it. It's already designated as the photo shoot of a lifetime.

Issei: there's more to it, right?

Irina: you got me, not only is this the best wedding ever, it's all proof of the alliance and peace. We are already building a hall of fame just for that one photo.

Kuroka: oh my.

Issei: wow....

Irina: it doesn't stop there.

Issei: what?

Irina: we spoke to your parents and they gave us their blessings on bringing your kids back.

Tiamat: wait what? But I was told that it's not possible, you guys can't break the natural order.

Irina: true but what about a new life entirely? Reincarnation the old fashioned way.

They were all wide eyed.

Kuroka: we can have our kids again?

Irina: yes, we can redirect their souls into their new lives after they are conceived. This is a wedding gift from heaven itself.

The two were speechless.

Irina: we also created a link to your parents so you can see and talk to them directly and Kuroka we created one for you if you want to see your mother.

She created a magic circle and from a hologram of Issei's parents appeared along with the 5 kids with very realistic graphics, almost as if they are here in person.

Gorou: yo Issei.

Miki: I finally get to see my son get married.

Issei: mom...dad....

Gorou: not even death will stop us from attending your wedding my boy.

Miki: so that must be Ddraig, tiamat and Crom.

Ddraig: it's an honour to meet the parents of my partner.

Both parents: the honour is ours Welsh dragon. Congratulations on having children of your own Ddraig and Tiamat.

Tiamat: thank you.

Irina: Mr and Mrs Hyoudo, we are taking a group photo and we would like you to be a part of it.

Miki: we wouldn't miss it for the world.

Gorou: bring the grandkids too.

Irina: as if we would leave them out of it.

Azazel and the others brought forth a very large camera that was as big as a mainframe. So many small lenses surrounding a very large lens in the center.

Yasaka announced:

Yasaka: Alright now everyone, time for a group photo.

As everyone was planning on where they will position themselves, Kuroka took the chance.

Kuroka: Irina, I want to see her again. My mother, I want her here.

Irina created a magic circle and from it a hologram of Kuroka's mother appeared, a Nekoshou with straight black hair and brown eyes. Kuroka looks just like her with only the hair style and eye colour being different.

Kuroka: hi mom...

Fujimai: hello sweetie...it's been a while.

Kuroka: yes mother...it's been too long. Sniff

Fujimai: oh come now, don't cry in your wedding day.

She wiped her tears away.

Kuroka: you're right, I'm just happy that you're here.

Fujimai: you can thank young Irina here.

Irina: just trying to do my part.

Kuroka: thanks Irina.

Fujimai: and who is this handsome young dragon?

She refers to Issei.

Issei: I'm her husband mam. My name is Issei Hyoudo.

Fujimai: handsome and well mannered, Kuroka I'm so proud of you. He's one of a kind.

Issei: you're too kind but she's one of a kind. So other woman could compare.

The girls who used to have feelings for Issei got an angry twitch.

Irina: you're mean.

Issei: I'm sorry okay, you're an angel and if anything happened to make you fall then I couldn't live with the guilt.

Fujimai: and he's very considerate of others. I like my son in law even more.

Miki: and we love your daughter too along with our 6 grandkids.

Fujimai: 6?.......SIX GRANDKIDS?

She looked at the 5 children looking at everyone and at her.

Fujimai: wait Kuroka these 5 look like you and Issei......oh dear..

Kuroka: it's a long story mom.

Gorou: we'll tell her if you want, all of us are in heaven so we can meet up with her.

Kuroka: thank you. It makes things easier.

Fujimai: oh btw how's Shirone?

Kuroka: she found someone who loves her and they are getting married soon.

Fujimai: then I don't need to worry anymore.

Issei: would you please join us in the group photo?

Fujimai: I'd love to.

They all gathered, Issei and Kuroka were in the center, behind them were their parents and in their arms were their kids including Evelyn. To their right were Issei's old team mates, Vali and his old team which includes Cao Cao, Team Phoenix, Bael and Sitri, Sirzechs, Grayfia, Milicus, Rias's parents, Ajuka, Serafall, Azazel to the left. Baraqiel stood behind Akeno. The angels and yokai stood on the right, the large dragons stood behind them, Ddraig and Tiamat each held two of their kids who were surprisingly photogenic. Great red stood behind everyone due to his size, the gods surrounded those to the right and left, the beasts of legends such as the nemean lion and Fenrir lay below with Ophis sitting between them. Loki was invited to the wedding but he watched from the distance. Just before the photo was taken.

Issei: wait, hey Loki, join us.

Loki: what?

Issei: you heard me, get over here.

Odin: come on son.

Loki: haha...very well father.

Thor: finally we get to take a family photo.

Issei: this is truly a happy family.

Loki joined them and together they took the group photo. After some time the newly married couple had their 5 kids back, they conceived them and their souls were reborn into the life they should have had before. Milicus and Kouno started dating later on and Koneko got married to the guy of her dreams a year later. Evelyn started dating in highschool but she found a good guy and settled down after college. The guy was in for a shock when he found out that Evelyn is the daughter of the heros of the world but he was happy with her and loved her. Loki was no longer interested in causing chaos but played innocent pranks on people and taught the kids some of his tricks. In time Issei could transform into a massive dragon and teach his kids to fly sense they inherited his new powers. They and Ddraig's kids would have flying races all the time. Issei's parents and Kuroka's mother got to know each other very well, they would see their grandkids grow up and would communicate via magic circles. Koneko got to bond with her mother whom she barely remembered at first but she was happier than ever. After a few years Zeus requested everyone to help.

Zeus: the Titans have escaped. We need help.

Great red: I'll take on Atlas.

Ophis: Gaya is mine to fight.

Thor: can't let you have all the fun.

Issei: what do you say love? Stay or fight?

Kuroka: let's kick some Titan ass.

Albion: trying to gain the title of the Aesir dragon Issei Hyoudo?

Issei: haha you can have it Albion. I just want to fight by my wife's side like the old days.

Kuroka: can't risk getting rusty no matter how strong we are.

Crom: she's right you know.

Rossweisse: guys they are on their way to mount Olympus.

Loki: I can summon jörmungandr to aid us.

Odin: excellent idea my boy.

Thor: never have I though that I would fight by it's side.

Loki: times change brother. Now shall we?

Everyone in the alliance went to mount Olympus and faced the Titans, it was a tough fight but eventually the Titans lost against the might of the all faction alliance.
