An Au where Clary actually knew about the shadow world but not that it was real.

Like, Magnus wasn't in favor of Jocelyn's plan of always erasing Clary's memory as it could affect the girl so he lied and said he would need a full day to erase the memories and rewrite it with something so Clary wouldn't question the missing memories but Jocelyn couldn't be there.

Jocelyn didn't fully trust Magnus but he was the only one she trusted enough to help her so she agreed and left Magnus alone with Clary.

Magnus somewhat erased Clary's memories but made her believe that what she had seen from the shadow world were stories her Uncle Magnus told her about which she promised to never tell her mother about, the rest of the time Clary spent with Magnus was of him explaining the shadow world through stories.

Simon joined them when Clary mentioned her best friend to Magnus as he knew Simon could be used to get to Clary if there were any Circle member alive who was looking for revenge or to continue Valentine's job.

Clary and Simon adored Uncle Magnus and they wanted to spend their birthday with him at his club and that is what lead to Clary's meeting with Jace, Alec and Izzy.

How the rest would go is up to the writer but I believe that Clary wouldn't act as she did in canon and would try to be more rational especially as she remembered the stories Magnus told her about the 'hunters of shadows' and linked it to the shadowhunters plus while mad that Magnus erased her memories she still trusted him as he found a way to not leave her defenceless(maybe he even taught Clary and Simon how to fight?)
