6. Home Alone

20:20, 16 October 2020

(A/N) This takes place 1 year after the events of the last chapter. Chanyeol has graduated from school and (Y/N) is in her final year. Exo has debuted successfully and have released their 1st album XOXO, winning their 1st Daesang award. Chanyeol and (Y/N) haven't seen each other for sometime due to Chanyeol's busy schedule.

(Y/N's POV)

I was lounging in the living room, looking through some of my sketches. There was one of Sky splashing in a puddle and one of Chanyeol wrestling with Sky on the floor. There was another of him sitting on the front steps and playing the guitar. That was my favourite picture of all. I haven't seen him in ages because he was busy promoting with Exo and I missed him and his stupid jokes.

Just then omma came down the stairs carrying a duffel bag and looking worried. "I might have to stay the night at your aunt's. She is very sick and is alone at home."

"Oh, is she going to be alright?" I asked concerned. "I hope so," said omma "Can you manage on your own till I get back?"

"Ne omma" I said. "You can get some food delivered for dinner and there's  some leftover kimchi stew if you want," omma said, grabbing her car keys "And I want you to lock all the doors and windows at night arasso?"

"Arasso" I said as omma hurried outside and got into the car. A sudden feeling of loneliness swept over me after omma had left. Usually Chanyeol was by my side, laughing and joking so there was never a dull moment. I missed him terribly.

Though it was just past 6pm, it was getting dark because a storm was brewing up in the west. I idled around the house for an hour or so and the decided to get some food delivered before it got too late. I placed my order and they told me that the food will arrive within 30 minutes.

By then it was very dark and the wind was howling around the house like a wild thing. There was a sudden flash of lightening and a rumble of thunder. This is going to be one heck of a storm I thought I hope the delivery guy comes before it get worse.

Just then someone pounded on the back door. That was quick! I said to myself, thinking that it was the food delivery person. Just to make sure I called out "Who is it?" No one answered. A sudden flash of lightening showed a silhouette of a man through the translucent glass of the back door. Must be the delivery guy I thought, striding across the room and opening the door.

It was not the delivery guy. Instead it was a someone in a black hoodie and mask.

"Mwoya?! Who are-" I started but the stranger clamped hand over my mouth and pushed me back into the house, slamming the door shut behind him. Terror ripped through me and I started struggling with all my might. I managed to knee my attacker in the crotch and he let me go, doubling up in pain. As he did so, his hoodie fell back, revealing a familiar lock of floppy brown hair.

"Chanyeol?!" I asked incredulously, unable to believe my eyes. "What the hell are you doing?!"

"Ow- that hurt!" he said wincing "Why did you hit me so hard in such a tender place?"

"Why did I  hit you?! Why were you  acting like a freaking mugger?!" I yelled at him. "I thought I was going to die!"

"Shh- don't shout. I'm sorry I scared you but I didn't have a choice." he grabbed my hand and went to the front window. "Do you see that?"

I squinted into the stormy night. I could just make out a hooded figure lurking outside Chanyeol's house. "What-"

"Sasaeng," Chanyeol said "Omma called me and said that she had been hanging around the house for hours, apparently waiting for me- though I have no idea how she found out my address. That's why I had to come to your house through the back door."

"You could have given me a warning," I grumbled. "But why can't you just go and tell her to leave?"

"Sasaengs love any kind of attention, even the bad kind," Chanyeol explained "They'll do anything to make themselves be noticed, even to the extent of stalking or harming their idol."

"That's so scary," I said, looking at the creepy figure standing in the dark. "My manager said that he'll take care of it, so I guess I'm stuck here with you till then" Chanyeol said with a grin. Just then the doorbell rang. It was the real delivery guy. I took the food to the kitchen and started heating up the leftover kimchi stew. It had started raining heavily and the thunder was deafening.

"Can you take Sky indoors?" I called out to Chanyeol. "He's scared of storms."

"Arasso," came the reply and I heard the back door opening and the sound of Sky's pattering feet. Suddenly Sky started barking and Chanyeol gave a terrified yell.

"Arghhhh!! Get away from me!! I said get awayy!" he screamed. OMG its the sasaeng! I thought in alarm. I grabbed the first thing I could reach- a broom- and rushed out of the kitchen to save Chanyeol.

    "Wae?! Wae?! Who is it?!"

Chanyeol was standing in the middle of the room looking ashen. "There. B-behind the c-curtain," he pointed with a shaky finger. I gripped my broom tightly and slowly advanced towards the widow. Another flash of lightening ripped the sky apart and thunder rumbled overhead. I reached out slowly and took hold of the curtain. With a jerk I flung open it and saw something I never expected. A cockroach.

"YAH!" I whirled around to face Chanyeol furiously. "You nearly gave me a heart attack! I thought you were getting murdered out here! And it turned out to be a stupid cockroach!"

"Cockroaches are very scary..." he said timidly. I glared at him, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. "Mianhe... I didn't mean to scare you" he said.

I sighed "Gwenchanha". Chanyeol looked at me for a few seconds, the corner of his mouth twitching. He suddenly burst out laughing. "Omg your face when you rushed out of the kitchen, brandishing a broom. You looked so funny"

"I thought the sasaeng had got you," I said, a bit annoyed. "Were you going to sweep her to death?" Chanyeol laughed, tears running down his face. I looked at him and unable to stop myself, burst out laughing too.

We were still laughing when he suddenly pulled me towards him and enclosed me in a hug. "I missed you" he said. He was so tall that my head barely came up to his chest. I could hear his heart beating, a perfect symphony with mine. After a moment of hesitation I put my arms around him and hugged him back. I missed you too...

(A/N) I didn't mean this chapter to be in a spooky setting , but I had so much negative emotions after hearing Chen's enlistment so I thought I'd put them into good use. I hope you liked it. Random fact: Apparently  Exo is the kpop group that has the most sasaengs and apparently 1/4th of their fandom are sasaeng fans...hmm I didn't know that. Anyway see you guys later!
