~Canada POV~
"HEY DUDES GUESS WHAT!" was all I heard and I instantly knew it was America. I jumped off of Gil's lap and stood up brushing myself off. Gil got up as well and looked towards the front door. I walked towards the door followed by Gil and saw an excited America standing at the door with France and England behind him.
"Oh, America. Hi." I gave a small wave and smiled at seeing my family here. I opened the door and stepped out of the way to allow France and England to also enter the room. I greeted them both with a quick hug and led them to the living room to sit down. Gil trailed behind awkwardly since he knew my family was here. Even though he knew them well, he still seemed a bit nervous.
We all sat down on the couch and I looked towards my family. "So...um... What brings you all here?" I said trying to start the conversation. America was the one to speak first, "Mattie bro! I heard there's this freaking awesome bar that just opened not too far from here! I wanted us all to go since it's supposed to be really cool with black lights and neon! So did you and Prussia want to go out for drinks later?" France interrupted America, "Oui, Mathieu. Angleterre, Amerique and I decided it would be fun if we all went out. It's going to be a good amount of us too. Spain will be there, Germany, Italy, Japan, and so many others will be there as well."
I looked at my family in surprise, "You really want to go out? We just had a party not too long ago at America's house." I honestly wouldn't mind going out with everyone. Lately I've been being noticed more and more and it made me so happy. So there's no way I would turn this chance down. "I'm always up for a chance to go out with my bros. And becides, It'll be fun." America said quickly.
I looked at Gil unsurely. I wanted to know what he thought before I agreed with anything. "I don't mind going out. I love going out to drink." Prussia said almost reading my mind.
America then narrowed his eyes at Gil and I. "So... Are you two dating now? You're still hanging out..." he said giving us skeptical looks. I nodded, "Yeah. We're technically dating now... I hope you're all ok with that." I said the last part quickly and quietly. France was the first to respond by giving me a huge hug. "I'm so proud of you Mathieu! I know Gil will be good for you." he said happily and then broke from the hug.
England finally spoke after being silent, which was surprising for him. "That's fine with me Canada. It's your choice. I support your decision." he then crossed his arms and huffed, sitting back against the couch. I couldn't help but notice how annoyed he looked and just the way he didn't look at America or France.
~Prussia POV~
Did anyone else sense the tension between this family. It was very awkward. I could feel the tension when England spoke and just the way he didn't make any eye contact. I shrugged the feeling off and smiled towards Canada.
America finally spoke from the apparent shock he was in from knowing that Canada and I were dating. "I guess I'm happy for you Mattie. I'll support you all the way!" he ended up saying."Thank you Al. That means a lot." Canada said softly.
I clasped my hands together and smiled at the family, "I think going out drinking with everyone will be fun! It'll be a great time to just all hang out as friends." I said excitedly. France patted England on the back, "Going out for drinks is a perfect way for us all to relax and leave behind work. Don't you think Angleterre?" France said looking right at England with...longing? It looked like he was admiring England, but I couldn't be sure.
England didn't look up when he spoke. "Well....going out drinking would mean that we would get drunk. And as you know, I'm not the best drunk." "I agree with England. I know you can hold your alcohol well, Gil. But me? Not so much." Canada said quickly. I just smiled at him, "You should be fine. It's not like we're going to drink too much. Just a few drinks." I added trying to change his mind.
I knew that England easily got drunk, but I've never really seen Canada fully drunk. I know he drank some wine at the party, but I'm curious to know how he acts when he's fully drunk. It'll be an interesting experience to go out, I'm not planning on getting completely drunk. But I'm still going to drink and have fun.
"Dudes! We should go tonight! What do you say Iggy?!" America shouted looking over at the Brit, whose head shot up in response. "Huh? Oh yeah sure America." he said quickly as if he wasn't paying attention. I don't understand why England is acting strange, it makes no sense, apparently Canada noticed as well because he got up and dragged England into the kitchen while we all stared curiously as to what he was doing.
~Canada POV~
Something was wrong and I knew it. I know England too well and something was definitely bothering him. When there was a break in the conversation I stood up and grabbed England's arm and pulled him into the kitchen. Once we were out of earshot I spoke to him.
"England... Something's bothering you. You seem distracted." I said quietly.England looked up quickly and shuffled his feet uncomfortably. "You notice the smallest things Matthew. But you're right something is bothering me." I nodded and leaned back on the counter, "Do you want to talk about it?" I asked hesitantly in case he didn't want to.
England played with the sleeve of his shirt out of nervousness. "It's just.... That bloody frog. He told me he loves me a few days ago and that he wants us to be together again." England ran a hand through his hair and sighed. "I just get so confused. I thought I liked America, but I've known France for so long. It's just so confusing."
I could see that England was really stressing out over this and I felt bad for him. I always knew that he had feelings for America and France. America took those feelings as brotherly love as a child, but we all knew that the feelings have changed in his eyes. Even France knew it, but then again, he's always loved England. I feel so bad for England, but I'm sure he'll go with his heart.
"There's only one person that you love with all of your heart. It may be confusing at first but you'll know." I said smiling at England."How did you know? How did you know that you loved Gil?" England asked. His question threw me off but I knew the answer as soon as he asked it.
"I knew I loved Gil when I felt my heart beat faster every time he was around. The little things he did made me laugh when no one else did. If, in anyway, we came in contact with each other, whether it was a simple hand brush, I could feel my face warm up and my heart beat quicken. My breath would hitch in my throat and I'd find it hard to speak. And when he kissed me, it sent my mind into a daze of happiness. My mind would go numb and the world would disappear. That's when I knew I loved him."
I don't know why I was being so honest with England. I guess it was because in a way he was a father figure to me as was France.
England shook his head in understanding, "Thank you Matthew. Your words mean a lot. I guess I just want love in my life and I rushed into being with America because he seems to love me. But I don't know if I feel the same... I've just known France for so long and he is a close friend. We raised you and America together and I just can't get that out of my head. Maybe I'll just keep them both as friends and see how it plays out." England smiled and quickly hugged me before walking back into the living room.
"What'd you guys talk about!?" America asked loudly as we both walked back into the living room.
"Nothing you need to know America." I said quickly looking at him. Sometimes he can be so nosey. America held his hands up defensively. "Fine fine. Be suspicious. See if I care." he said slightly offended and crossed his arms.
~Time Skip Of Fabulousness~
We all had arrived at the bar and I was surprised at how many people actually showed up. It was mostly our friends that were there, so at least I'd be comfortable. America was right, this place was amazing. Black lights everywhere and huge neon signs lined the walls. The waitresses had funky hair colors and all wore neon colored suits, which looked good since they all were girls.
We were summoned to the table full of the other countries, who already had drinks ordered. I sat down at the table next to America and Gil joined sitting next to me. I placed my hands on my lap to be polite and I felt Gil grab my hand in his. We intertwined our fingers and I could feel him rubbing the back of my hand with his thumb in a soothing motion.
The waitress came over and everyone who had just arrived ordered themselves some drinks. Now it was my turn to be daring, I ordered myself a German beer. Not my usual wine, or other mixed drink. I decided to go with a German beer because Gil seemed to like it so much.
I didn't know how much time had passed, but I did know that I couldn't see straight at the moment. I think I had one too many beers. And by one too many beers I mean I was already on my 5th.
~Prussia POV~
What drink was Matthew on? 5th? 6th? All I knew was that he was stumbling around and acting very lively. I was talking with Spain when he walked over to me and slid onto my lap. "Bonjour Gil~ You know you're very hot right? And you're only mine, so back off Spain." Canada slurred with slitted eyes glaring at Spain.
"Fusososo. Sorry amigo. Don't worry he's all yours. I have mi Romano." Spain said putting an arm around the small Italian who huffed and blushed.
I looked at Canada with surprise since I've never seen him act like this. It reminded me a bit of what France is like on a daily basis. "Birdie? I think you've had too many drinks. I should bring you home." I stood up and held Canada bridal style. "Eh! Hmm? Oui Gil! Take me home. I want to go home with you." he said leaning against me as I held him.
"Am I going to get laid?" Canada straight up asked with a drunken look in his eyes. The question threw me off and I blushed a bit. "Uhh... No. I'm just bringing you home." I said. There was no way I was going to take advantage of mein Birdie while he was drunk.
I walked through the bar towards the exit and gave a signal to the other countries telling them I was bringing Canada home. France gave me a wink while he had his arm around the waist of a drunken England. America was next to them trying to get France to let go of the Brit, while England was just trying to push them both away.
I shook my head and laughed, exiting the bar finally. "Gil....?" I heard Canada say softly. "Ja meine liebe?" I responded looking at him in my arms. "I love you. So much. I'm glad we're together." he said smiling up at me. He was so adorable right now as I walked home. I'm such a lucky guy to have such an awesome partner. "Ich liebe dich auch. I'm glad we are too. Now let's get you to bed to sleep off your hang over." I said as we arrived at home. Canada just hummed softly as I placed him on the bed.
"Guten Nacht mein Birdie" I said kissing him on the forehead when I tucked him in. Now I was startled because I didn't expect to be pulled into the bed. Apparently when drunk, Canada gains America's strength. I was pulled onto the bed by the small Canadian and we now were face to face. I could see the blush on Matthew's face and I could feel my own growing blush. "Birdie?" I said softly. "Shush. No words." Canada breathed and pulled my collar connecting our lips. Even drunk, he could kiss well. I could taste the faint flavor of the beer still lingering on his lips as we moved in harmony.
We pulled away and I rolled over so that Canada was now laying on my chest. I rubbed his head and held him close. "Good night Birdie. I'll always be here with you." I whispered into his hair. I heard his light breathing and I knew he had fallen asleep. Tonight I saw a new side of the one I love. It was an interesting side, but definitely something to comment on in the future.
~3rd Person POV~
That morning Matthew had a horrible hangover and Gil made sure to listen to his every need and help his love through his hangover.
Now as a small part of Canada's country, this gave Gil a place to stay and to continue being a country. The two lived happily together and loved each other dearly.
Russia never bothered Canada again since he had found someone to love for himself. And of course China loved Russia in return.
Matthew and Gil were a great couple and they loved each other endlessly. Their love would never die. They supported each other and being with Gil made Matthew noticed by others.
The Canadian's dream was fulfilled. He wanted to be noticed and now he finally has been.__________________________
