Chapter 1

First Time Reader (FTR) or Re-Reader (RR)

"I'm gonna get you!" Chase barks, while running after Ryder."I don't think....Ryder doesn't get to finish what he was gonna say when Chase jumps on him. Ryder and Chase are playing in the backyard of the Lookout. The other pups were off doing other activities. Zuma was surfboarding with Skye at the bay.Marshall, Rocky, and Rubble were at Jake's Mountain, snowboarding with Everest and Jake.

Ryder lands on the grass, with Chase on top of him. "I told you I was 'gonna get you'. I'm the fastest pup in the world!" Chase says. Ryder giggles, gazing at Chase with immense love. Chase is his most beloved pup, but of course he does love his other pups. Chase licks Ryder on the cheek and Ryder embraces his arms around Chase.

He squeezes the pup in a tight hug. "I love you, Chase" Ryder says. "I love you too, Ryder. We will always be together for the rest of our lives, right?"Chase says. Ryder knew he couldn't guarantee that because he obviously doesn't know what the future has for him and Chase. "Hopefully" Ryder answers. After they break the hug, Ryder says, "Chase, wanna get something to eat?" Chase's stomach grumbles. "My stomach just said yes" says Chase. "Then let's go" Ryder starts walking with Chase to Mr. Porter's Cafe.

Chase and Ryder arrive at Mr. Porter's Cafe. "Hi Mr. Porter, how's everything going?" Ryder greets, as the two enter the cafe. "Hello Ryder and Chase. Everything is going great. Can I help you guys?" Mr. Porter asks with a smile."Chase, what do you want?" Ryder asks his pup."Chilly with liver sausage" Chase licks his lips hungrily."I want spaghetti and meatballs" Ryder orders. Mr. Porter writes down Ryder and Chase's orders and then gets to cooking.

Ryder and Chase take a table outside of the cafe, under an umbrella. "We haven't gotten any calls today, which is great" Chase says."As much as I love rescuing, a break feels really good. I'm sure the other pups are enjoying themselves also" says Ryder.

"Remember that time when I came to the mission room and Skye was playing Pup Pup Boogie, and you were dancing a little" Chase says, with a giggle following. "What are you trying to say?" Ryder asks. "You're a weird dancer" Chase starts cracking up."Chase!" Ryder says, with a playful frown.But he couldn't help but start laughing also. Chase was cracking up so hard, his chair falls back. Ryder's eyes widen and he looks under the table to see Chase.

"That's what you get for calling me a 'weird dancer'. Maybe you should think twice the next time you decide to say that" Ryder says in a playful voice. Chase gets up and lifts his chair, then hops back on it. "I'm sorry Ryder. I just had to say that. But you're not a weird dancer. Hey, maybe the next time you can lead our PAW Patrol band in the next song we sing" Chase says.

"Oh no! Not me!" Ryder immediately says. "Why? You actually sing pretty good. Remember on Friendship Day, you sang the friendship song" Chase says. "Yeah, but.... "but what?" Chase questions. "I don't know. I think Rubble is best singer out of us" says Ryder. "But you're still good. So the next time we sing a song, you're gonna lead" Chase says. "I'll see about that" Ryder unsurely says. Mr. Porter then walks up to the two with a serving tray.

He places a plate infront of Ryder and a bowl infront of Chase. "Thanks Mr. Porter" Chase thanks. "Your welcome. Enjoy" Mr. Porter then walks away.Ryder starts eating his spaghetti and meatballs with a fork and Chase eats his chilly with liver sausage. Chase sighs when satisfaction. "This is so good" he says. "And this is so good" Ryder then says.

"Snowboarding is the most fun.....Marshall doesn't get to finish what he was gonna say, when he suddenly crashes into a snow pile. Everest stops her snowboard and walks up to the buried Dalmatian. "You are so clumsy, it so cute" she says. Marshall's head pops out of the snow and he shakes the snow from the top of his head.

"I think sometimes the pups get a little annoyed of my clumsiness. Especially when we have to get in the elevator. There was not a time when I did something clumsy" Marshall explains. Everest giggles and helps Marshall out of the snow pile. Marshall gets back on his snowboard and races down the slope with Everest.

"Where were you?" Rocky asks Marshall. "As usual, I crashed into a snow pile. Nothing new" Marshall says and continues snowboarding. "I'm the best snowboarder in the entire world!" Rubble boasts. "I don't think.....Jake doesn't finish what he was saying when he himself crashes into a snow pile. His legs are just sticking out of the pile. "I admit it, you are the best snowboarder" he says in a muffled voice, because his head is buried in snow.

Rubble starts laughing and snowboards ahead of everyone. "I guess I'm not the only one who crashes in snow piles" Marshall snowboards past Jake. Everest bites Jake's leg and pulls him out.

At the bay, Zuma and Skye are surf boarding but there aren't much waves today. "This is quite boring. We should scuba dive instead" Zuma suggests. "You're right. There aren't really any waves to ride" Skye agrees. Zuma and Skye go back to shore and gear up in their scuba diving pup-suits. "I'll race you to the bottom of the bay!" Skye challenges. "I'm gonna win!" Zuma barks.

Both pups put their snorkels in their mouthes and then from the dock, they leap into the blue water. The suns rays flood in through the waters surface, making the water clear and shiny. But as the pups dive deeper, it starts getting darker. But that's when they start seeing more life.

Colorful corals attached to rocks, schools of fish swarming through the water, and then dolphins appear on the picture. They emit playfully whistles and clicks, as they swim along with Zuma and Skye. One dolphin gets in Zuma's way, allowing Skye to take the lead in the race to the deepest depths.

Skye looks back to see Zuma falling behind. She then continues swimming.

Ryder and Chase finish eating and now they're on their way home. "The sun is setting now, I'm gonna call the pups home now" Ryder says, taking his pup-pad out of his pocket. "Main Street looks really busy now" Chase says, observing the street as hundreds of cars keep flying by. Ryder pulls out the sliding mechanism from his pup-pad and calls the other pups. "Pups, it's getting late. I'm sorry to interrupt your fun, but it's time to head home" Ryder says.

"Okay Ryder" the pups say.

Ryder and Chase make it back to the Lookout before the others. "I'm so happy me and you got to have the day to ourselves. It's pretty rare that we get that time" Ryder says, stroking Chase on the head. They were relaxing in the TV room, waiting for the other pups. "I love when it's only me and you. It's the greatest time of my life" Chase says, and then licks Ryder on the cheek. The Lookout doors open when the other pups walk in.

"Ryder!" they all cheer, running toward him. Ryder is hit by a wave of pups as they all jump onto him. They all push each other to try and get to Ryder's face to lick him. Ryder laughs as so many tongues go across his face. "Okay okay, I'm glad to see all of you too" Ryder laughs.

The pups finally give Ryder some air. Ryder wipes the drool off of his face. "What were you pups doing today?" Ryder asks. "Me and Zuma went surfboarding" Skye begins. "But the waves were low, so we decided to go scuba diving instead. And I challenged Zuma to race me to the bottom of the bay and I ended up wining."

"Me, Rocky and Rubble went snowboarding with Jake and Everest" Marshall says. "I'm glad you pups had fun. Chase and I had fun also" Ryder says. "Now let's watch a movie together." The pups got some pup-treats and Ryder got himself some popcorn for the movie. Just when the movie starts, Ryder's pup-pad starts ringing.

It was Farmer Al calling. "Hi Farmer Al, what's up?" Ryder asks, trying not to show his annoyance."Ryder! It's wild on Main Street. There's so much traffic and it has now has created a big traffic jam. People are screaming at each other to move out of the way, they're honking their horns nonstop, and no one can drive on!" Farmer Al explains.

"That sounds pretty serious. Don't worry, the PAW Patrol will be there" Ryder says. When Ryder hangs up the call, Chase says, "you guys stay here and watch the movie. I'm gonna handle this traffic jam." "No Chase, we're gonna help. It's not fair that we get to relax while you don't" Ryder says. "Ryder, today we didn't get any calls and you've been enjoying your break day. I want you to enjoy the rest of it. Now have fun while I go deal with this traffic jam" Chase explains.

"Chase....Chase cuts Ryder off. "Ryder, if you let me do this, I won't make you lead the band the next time we sing another song" Chase says. "But.... "enjoy the movie. Bye" Chase then walks out of the Lookout.Ryder sighs in defeat. He didn't feel right enjoying himself while his pup was out in the night, controlling traffic. He wanted Chase to enjoy himself also. "I guess...we can watch the movie" Ryder says, not so sure.

Chase leaves the Lookout and heads to his pup-house. He goes inside and gets dressed into his police uniform and then exits the pup-house. The pup-house starts transforming into its police vehicle form and Chase leaps in. He then drives off to Main Street.
