09 GAME NIGHT
21:35, 8 May 2025HAVE YOU ever been on a date and immediately declared it as the worst one you've ever been on the second you walked into the designated area? Well, now you have.
In fact, it wasn't even a date. You got all dolled up and pretty, styling your hair so it would look like you were trying, but not too much at the same time. You even wore your favourite clothes! But of course, you made it look like you were trying, but not too much. Same thing for your make up, although you suppose it was a little overboard. Makeup, really?
But either way, it all went to shit as soon as you entered those doors. You literally wanted to walk out as soon as you walked in.
"Y/N! What's with that look?" Kirishima asked, hooking his arm around you and pulling you shoulder to shoulder.
"Did something happen?" Sero asked, looking confused and worried. "Did someone bother you on your way in?"
Oh, someone bothered you alright.
"No, of course not!" You answered, immediately switching your solemn look for a bright smile. "You're all... here!" You said through gritted teeth.
"Oh, we didn't wait long, don't worry." Kirishima chuckled, and your eyes scanned over each and every one of your friends. You thought it was going to be just you and Denki.
You quickly decided to accept the surprise—clearly you were getting well ahead of yourself—and joined your group of friends. The 'hangout' not being a date was quite disappointing, but it didn't make it any less exciting. You were just glad that you chose not to go all out appearance wise.
"Guys, let's go and play already!" Mina complained, rushing up to you and hooking her arm around yours, before dragging you off into the room of arcade games. "I'm so, so, so sorry, girl." She whispered into your ear, tone hushed as she apologised.
You were first dragged out to race on the racing games, and seeing as there were only four bikes and six people, Kirishima and Bakugo stayed to watch. Well, it was more like Bakugo didn't want anything to do with it and Kirishima wanted to keep him company.
You sat down on the bike, your hand gripping the handles with a new found sense of determination, your competitive side unleashing. The screen in front of you showed your bike, and you quickly chose to edit it. You customised its appearance to your liking, and waited for the rest of the group to do the same. Once Kaminari took an unbelievably long time to make up his mind, the screen swapped over to a reflection of your appearance, and you flinched when it flashed like a camera.
Did it...did it just take a picture?
The screen panned over to a black background, and the images of the competitors popped up. Mina had posed with a grin and a peace sign, Sero smiled with his thumbs up, and Kaminari's had been photo bombed by Kirishima, his just entirely Kirishima's blurred out face due to the motion. Yours, well...
"HAHAHAH! Y/N, what's with that look?" Mina bursted out into laughter pointing at your wide eyed, totally surprised look.
"Why do you look so horrified?" Sero piped up, smirking slightly as he looked over the screen in front of him.
"Come on guys, I think it's cute." Kaminari chimed in casually, his eyes also trained on your photo. Your cheeks heated up further with each word, every statement sending a mix of embarrassment through you. But it peaked at Kaminari's words, and you quickly turned away to look straight at your screen in order to hide your flaring cheeks.
The game was short, but especially funny. You couldn't hold your giggles as Mina screamed at Sero for crashing into her repeatedly, the raven haired student choosing to sabotage everyone else once he realised he couldn't win. You were in first place since you grabbed the lead quickly, and were miles ahead. You could only listen as Mina shouted, Sero laughed, and Kaminari cried as their fight continued. You won and the game ended shortly.
"You guys suck." Bakugo stated bluntly, arms crossed and a glare on his face once it ended.
"How do you even mess up that badly?" Kirishima raised an eyebrow, directing his complaints towards the three self sabotaging players beside you.
"Yeah, what the heck even happened back there? I won so easily, you guys were so behind." You said with a hint of a teasing tone in your voice, gesturing to the number one on your display.
The rest of the day was full of fun and games. You all did a competition on who could score the most hoops on the basketball game, and the winner was Kirishima with Bakugo only short behind. He wasn't very happy about that.
In fact, the blonde demanded a rematch with Kirishima, causing the two to go off and continue that same game over and over again. That left you, Mina, Sero and Kaminari.
The next game was the dancing machine—suggested by Mina by no surprise—and she went up first. She focused on having fun instead, fortunately opting to not sweat it out using her unusually amazing skills, and danced away on the platform instead of stiffly stepping on the arrows like Sero.
When it was Kaminari's turn, you couldn't hold back your giggles as the guy infront of you struggled. He tried to incorporate dance moves into his steps, but seemed to fail miserably. His movements were awkward, messy, yet unbelievably cute.
Mina watched in disgust as you swooned, giggling like a little girl. The sight of it all was so alienated that she wanted to throw up.
After that and embarrassing yourself on the dance machine, the group met up at the entrance once again.
"So what should we get for dinner?" Mina asked, sitting down at the lounge chair lazily.
"I dunno." Sero replied, thinking for a moment to come up with an answer. "Pizza, anyone?"
"I could go with pizza." Kirishima answered, looking around the group for everyone else's opinions on the matter.
"Sure." You said with a shrug once his eyes laid on you. You didn't really mind what you ate, as long as you could snatch a seat beside Kaminari.
"Pizzas fine." Bakugo grumbled, although no one really paid attention to him.
"Yes! Pizza it is!" Kaminari cheered, pumping a fist with a happy grin. "You guys wanna head back to mine and we can order? My mums not home." He suggested.
Woah, woah, woah. Hold your horses.
"Sure!" Mina beamed, leaping off the lounge chair in excitement.
"Kaminari's it is, then." Sero shrugged, and the group all collectively walked out of the arcade.
They didn't notice you frozen in your spot behind them, cheeks flushed red at the thought. You were going to Kaminari's house. Kaminari. The same guy that makes your heart beat ten times faster in your chest when he was near. The guy who makes her so shy yet happy that she does cartwheels every night in her bedroom.
Suddenly, you began to ponder. What was his room like? Was his house big or small? Did he have any pets? Does he keep his house clean? What does his parents look like? Like him?
"Juno!" Mina called out, peaking in through the entrance of the arcade. "What are you doing? Come on, we're gonna take the train!" She huffed.
"O-oh! Right, sorry!" You replied hurriedly, shaking your head and recollecting your composure. You quickly caught up with her at the entrance, and walked towards the train station with your group of friends.
You were not prepared for the night you had in store for you.
