Chapter 3

01:31, 14 October 2013

Three days. At best i had three days to sort my shit out before i was found, either by them or the BAU. Hopefully the latter.

Currently, i was on a plane flying to Quantico. I knew the first place they’d go to would be the Sanitarium to talk to Diana Reid. Therefore i had to get home and sort my apartment out for when their technician guru, Penelope Garcia, finally found my address. I was trying hard not to think about the likely hood that they would find me first. If they did, i would be dead before the BAU even worked out my real name.

My breathing quickened as the plane landed at the airport. I knew them well enough to know that the only place they’ll try to take me from would be the airport. Luckily i still had a few contacts who worked at airport security and they managed to get me clearance to bring a gun in my hand luggage. I’d also figured out that they thought my plan of action would be to blend into the crowds. This is why i had elected to be a little obscure and dress as a hippie gambler.

I must admit that this is the first time i have actually been properly scared of them. Almost every time they’ve tried to get me, I’ve been one step in front of them. Only this time i had decided that if the BAU had any chance of finding me then i had to slow down. So i knew there was a lot more chance they were going to find me first.

I flashed my passport at the security guy and he nodded at me before letting me through to pick up my suitcase. My eyes scanned the many crowds and, fortunately, i didn’t spot any familiar faces. There was no way they were going to risk using any new agents to try and catch me seeing as this is the closest they have ever got to me. I walked up to the suitcase carousel slowly, waiting for both my case and them. Thank-god my suitcase came first and i grabbed it off the conveyer belt before speed-walking out of the airport.

About an hour and a half later, i was sitting in my apartment clutching a cup of tea. It always made me feel extremely English when i drank tea here and that thought usually calms me down. I let out a small sigh of relief at the fact that i had made it this far. Honestly, everyone had said i wouldn’t make it a week. Yet here i was, six years later and i was still safe. I glanced around my small apartment and decided i should get cracking.

There wasn’t much to do. I just had to sort out the stuff i was keeping and throw them in my bag, then get all the junk together to give to my friend so he could throw it out before finally leaving the place in perfect condition for when the BAU arrive. Turns out it took a lot longer than anticipated. When i finally did finish, it was past midnight so it seemed logical to sleep. I didn’t, of course. I don’t really sleep normally anyway, add onto that the stress of what was coming. But i did lie down on the mattress and i did get all wrapped up in the blanket. However sleep never arrived. I just lay there, praying and hoping Hotch’s team was a good as people said they were
