Chapter 8 - Fight

22:59, 5 June 2025

"It's been two months already, eh?" Kaori said, leaning against the window with a small smile.

Kaori's words brought Kiyotaka a bit of stuff to think about.

Today is June 30, just a day off from July 1. Truly, it had been quite the long journey. And yet, it was still far from the end.

A lot had occurred between those days. One of which were their MidTerms this June. Which of course, they passed it, no problem.

Most of the students of Class B weren't exactly that dumb in academics. He knew very well that everyone could handle themselves.

However, just as Ellen had said before, that was also a weakness in their class since their Class Average would always be dangerously high.

It was a problem that could easily be fixed though, and Kiyotaka knew that very well.

There weren't much students that were weak in academics. And if they were, the gap wasn't that big.

Even if they didn't study, Kiyotaka knew they'd still pass. Their quizzes during the First Month proved that really well.

However, of course, there was no way Kiyotaka would ever let his guard down. So now, study sessions as a class are now the norm for the Class B students.

Other than that, there were nothing else that had happened.

There were no point allocations during June, so he assumed it'll be done in July.

He's just glad he didn't outright spend his points right away.

"Man.. This place is so damn hot.." Kaori groaned, bringing Kiyotaka out of his thoughts.

He agreed very well with Kaori's words. It was truly scorching inside the Special Building. It was so hot, that even Kiyotaka took off his blazer to lessen the heat before going inside the building.

"Well, it is summer.." Kiyotaka trailed off with a sigh. It was truly a bother to be stuck in this heat.

However, he was here, enduring this heat, all for a good reason.

This place had absolutely zero cameras. And not many students know about this place.

As such, this place was ideal for some shady stuff.

"So why am I here then?" Kushida asked, her facade off, clearly showing off her annoyed expression.

A few days after that Pallet mess, Kaori officially introduced Kushida to Kiyotaka.

However, it wasn't any simple introduction one would make when introducing their friends. It was an introduction that opened a lot of possibilities for Kiyotaka as an enemy class.

Kaori's control over Kushida allowed Kiyotaka a hold over the weakest Class, and that was something Kiyotaka appreciated, as little as it was.

Class E might not be a threat right now, so it wasn't really much. However, if things do go bad, they'd make for a perfect scapegoat for him.

Of course, Kushida doesn't have any idea that she's just a mere, disposable pawn in Kiyotaka's game.

"It's a great spot for planning shit you don't want others to hear, you know." Kiyotaka said, uncaring if the two girls heard him speaking so informally and vulgar.

In the first place, Kaori already knew that such a side to him had already existed. So she was not a problem for him.

As for Kushida.. She has no choice but to keep quiet, as uncomfortable as it was to see Kiyotaka, who seemed so proper, speaking such foul words.

It was ironic, coming from her, of all people.

".. Right.. But what type of 'shit' is there to plan in the first place?" Kushida, going along with Kiyotaka's words, asked with an annoyed expression.

Kaori, finding Kushida's actions amusing, just chuckled. It amused her to see Kushida, the person who had hated her, was now under her grasp.

It was a funny thing, that one.

"If we said the downfall of your class, how'd you react?" Kaori's question made something deep inside Kushida snap.

Kushida's obvious reaction made both Kaori and Kiyotaka curious. Did Kushida actually cherish her own class? Perhaps, more than they initially thought?

However, Kushida's words weren't quite what they had expected.

"Oh, gosh. Please do that." Kushida's words really took the two by surprise. Though, at the same time, it was an answer they somehow expected from her.

"Geez, do you hate your classmates that much, Kushida?"

"Yes I do. Is there a problem?" Kaori didn't answer Kushida. Instead, she just gave an odd look.

And she thought he and Kiyotaka were weird. Turns out there's someone far worse than them outside the White Room. Truly, what a small world this was.

"Like, there are so much problems withing that one class, it's so fucking tiring. There's Karuizawa Kei who's just a damn bitch. Then there's–" Yeah I am not typing every single thing that she's going to say.

For summary, however, Kushida is just badmouthing her own classmates. Even Kaori and Kiyotaka were just baffled by her words.

Kushida ranted so many people such as Karuizawa, Shinohara, and Yamauchi. Most of which were especially from her class.

But amongst all of them, one stood out the most.

"Why do you hate Horikita-san so much? I get that her personality is kind of rotten, but why hate her to that extent?" Kiyotaka's question seemed to make Kushida somewhat hesitate.

It was a fleeting moment, but it was caught by both Kaori and Kiyotaka.

Right then and there, they realized that Kushida had a deeper history with Horikita than what she had initially said.

'Huh... Maybe, I can exploit that if ever Kushida decides to go against us.' Such a thought passed by Kiyotaka. However, it disappeared as soon as it appeared.

The reason? The three people talking suddenly jumped in surprise as a loud thud suddenly echoed within the building.

"What in the world..." Kaori mumbled under her breath, curious about that sound.

It wasn't just her who was suddenly cautious, and curious. Kushida and Kiyotaka's guards also rose up. It wouldn't exactly be a problem for Kiyotaka to be seen here, so he had zero worries.

Kushida, however, had every single reason to be worried, for her secret is at stake here.

"... Maybe we should check that out.."

"What if we say no, and that person was actually listening in, so they spread the word?"

"First of all, I hope you die, Kaori. Second of all, your imagination is so bad, you should just die."

"Are we checking this out or not?" Kiyotaka said, facepalming at the thought of yet another Karma-Kaguya pair that's completely incompatible and will probably, never get along.

He knew that these two did not like each other. However, their hostility towards one another... Far surpassed his expectations.

Kiyotaka didn't mind, though. He saw yet an another side of his friend that he hasn't before. So all in all, it was still a pretty good trade.

"Oi, Kushida. Isn't that..?"

"... Sudou-kun.." Kiyotaka and Kushida whispered to one another, observing the 'fight' happening right now in the Special Building, if it can even be called that.

The three students, who had just heard a loud noise, had decided to snoop around, and spy the cause of the noise, which turned out to be Class E's Sudou Ken.

Just now, Sudou was engaged in a fight with three other students. However, it.. Wasn't really that much of a fight since the three students weren't fighting back at all.

All of them, even Kushida, knew what this meant– these three had provoked Sudou purposefully as a way of attacking Class E.

So now, this... Looks like a situation where Sudou beat up these three students up in a one-sided fight. And, considering Sudou's violent reputation, it definitely seemed like something Sudou would do.

"Ha ha ha.. Do you really think this is the end, Sudou?" One of the guys on the ground mocked Sudou, clearly still trying to rile him off even more.

However, Sudou wasn't having any of it anymore.

"Do you wanna make me laugh? You're in the sorriest state possible. You want to go for another round, huh? Next time, I won't hold back." Sudou threatened, grabbing the student by his collar.

Slowly, he began to lift up the said student by his collar, making them only a few centimeters apart from one another.

His glare was so intense, it could probably rival the heat inside the Special Building, and made Kushida shiver in fear, remembering a certain night with a certain someone.

Sudou's incredible bloodlust made the poor student terrified, and he just simply averted his gaze. Seeing the student seemingly giving up, he just clicked his tongue, and threw the student roughly into the ground.

"Tsk. You thought you could defeat me with mor people, huh? Too bad it didn't work out for you." And then, he turned around, and walked to the exit.

However, Kiyotaka saw something pink from the corner of his eyes. And then, he realized that somebody other than them was watching this play out.

"What a damn waste of my time. Tiring me out like this after my practice.. Give me a damn break.." Sudou complained, stretching his arms, and shoulders as he walked away.

However, it seemed like those three students haven't given up yet, as they began shouting things at Sudou.

"You're the one who's going to regret this, Sudou!!"

"Nothing's more patheric than a sore loser.. No matter how many times you'll come at me, you won't win." And so, Sudou went on, and walked to the stairway.

Before he could however, he stopped in his tracks.

"Is someone there?" Kushida froze, thinking they had been caught.

If she, and these two were caught together in a place like this, she would surely get into trouble.

Kushida's heart began to pound loudly in her chest, thinking what she should do to avoid Sudou.

"You should calm down, Kushida. There was someone else watching." Kaori whispered, pointing to a beam near the staircase where Sudou was standing at.

Hearing those words, Kushida cannot help, but sigh in relief.

Until those words registered in her brain.

"Wait, there was someone else..?" Kushida asked, and both Kaori and Kiyotaka just nodded in unison.

However, they didn't say any more, as they moved their gazes to the three remaining students on the ground. To which, Kushida soon did as well.

Not to their surprise, the three students stood up quite easily, and started patting their clothes clean.

Kiyotaka knew well what was about to come next. And so, he began to think of doing something that he could do in such a situation.

"Ahh.. Fuck.. Having Sudou beat us up like that.. I was trying my best to not punch him back.."

"It was so damn hard.. But at least now, we can expell him with our own hands."

"Saying it like that somehow made our suffering so much more satisfying."

"Doesn't it?"

"Now all that's left is to report Sudou to the Student Council and the Teachers."

"Oh, God.. I can't wait, dude!"

"Yeah yeah. But first, let's go report that we've finished."

"Yeah, let's." And so, those three students followed behind Sudou, and began celebrating their win over Sudou.

Their leaving presence allowed the three people spying on them to finally leave their hiding spot, and talk about what just happened.

"Man, that's crazy." Kaori said with a rather baffled expression as soon as she was separated from Kushida and Kiyotaka.

Kushida also mirrored Kaori's expression of bafflement. However, it took her longer to say her thoughts out loud. And when she did..,

"Man, Sudou sure is dumb."

"Man, you guys are friends now?" Kiyotaka sarcastically said, going along with them for now.

As soon as Kiyotaka said that, Kushida and Kaori began to fiercly glare at one another once again, causing him to sigh in annoyance and exasperation.

"Hey. As much as I love seeing you guys 'get along', I have something I'd like to ask." Kiyotaka's words earned the attention of both Kushida and Kaori, thankfully making them stop glaring at one another, for now.

"Kiyo?"

"What's up, Ayanokouji-san?" These two questions made Kiyotaka sigh.

With one hand, he brought out his phone, and began to play a voice recording of the whole fiasco from the start, to finish.

Obviously, their whispers could be heard. However, that can easily be edited out.

Seeing Kiyotaka presenting an evidence that'll prove Sudou innocent, both Kaori and Kushida looked at Kiyotaka in suspicion.

Kaori knew that Kiyotaka had absolutely zero intention of helping Sudou, much less Class E. So, why did he record all of this? What was the thought process behind this?

Kushida's thinking wasn't that much different from what Kaori was thinking. Why was Kiyotaka presenting evidence right here, right now?

Why is he helping them, all of a sudden, when all of the Class E students Kiyotaka had met were all people that had such a bad impression on him?

However, soon enough, Kiyotaka answered both of them at the same time.

"I don't know what the reason may be, but you want to see Horikita suffer, don't you, Kushida?

So listen closely. I'll give you an offer to expel Sudou, give us points, and see Horikita all in a single event. However, you'd.. I need you to do something for me." Kushida's eyes widened at Kiyotaka's words, and so did Kaori's.

Slowly, the gears began turning inside Kaori's head, and realized what Kiyotaka was planning.

"Oh.. So that's.. You're planning to get points with Sudou.. And at the end.. You.." Kaori trailed off, connecting the pizzle pieces together as it slowly, began to make sense in her head.

However, Kushida remained baffled, and confused. So, Kiyotaka just went on.

"Just like what Kaori said, I'll use Sudou to earn some points on our side. And, to do that, I'll have you follow my orders in exchange for getting the front seat to Horikita's suffering.

So, Kushida. Are you going to take my offer? Or are you going to be righteous and choose to defend your class?"

Kiyotaka's words slowly made the gears turn in Kushida's head as well. However, unlike Kaori, she doesn't have the clear image of what Kiyotaka was going to do.

However, hearing that Horikita might suffer, Kushida immediately gave her answer.

"Tell me what to do, and I'll do it with absolute perfection."
