Chapter 17- Fancy Seeing You Here

08:28, 21 October 2014

Hope you've been enjoying. Just for the record, this is about a month after the whole pregnancy scare. I skipped so much time because really, in the story, not much happened. I would've been really boring to have chapters about it. So yeah. Please vote and comment and all that.

       "I can't believe you convince me of this again." I muttered, rolling my eyes as I put on eye shadow. Eye shadow. Calum was forcing me to go with him to a party. Apparently's his old buddy was having a house party, and it was going to be sick.

        "You'll thank me someday."  He didn't look up as he scrolled through his twitter feed. He was laying on my bed, obviously dressed perfectly with ripped jeans, dark vans, a snap back, the works.

        I was struggling to attain the same standard of looking good. I had finally settled on a pair of lace tights, a pair of jean shorts, a ribbed cut-out shirt, a triangle necklace, and I'd straightened my long hair. Straightened, it was grazed my belly-button.

        "You better be thanking me now for looking so cute for you." I complained, putting on mascara. Finished with my make-up, I pulled on my combat boots. "Ready."

        He looked up from his phone and grinned. "You look amazing, babe. I might wanna rethink that whole abstaining thing."

        I scoffed and rolled my eyes. "Nice try." I pulled him off my bed. "Come on. If we're doing this, let's go."

        "Shhh." He hushed me. Our parents were in bed, so we had to quietly open the door, and silently creep down the hallway. The worst part was opening the front door, which always had a tendency to shake.

        However, once we were out, and in his car, we could be as loud as we wanted.

        "So where is this party?"

        "I'm honestly not exactly sure. I'm hoping Google maps will prove to be worth something."

        I laughed, and tapped my fingers on my leg. "I still can't believe you talked me into this."

        "Acabelieve it." He winked, quoting Pitch Perfect.

        I grinned. "We are watching that."

        "Acaawesome." He said in agreement.

        Our drive was all light-hearted and fun, and I was in a good mood as we pulled up in front of a huge, sick house outside of Sydney. So many cars littered the driveway and yard and street, I was surprised Calum managed to find us a spot.

        We got out and went in, and I instantly hated the inside of the house. It smelled like weed and alcohol. And sweaty boys. I wrinkled my nose as I looked around. The carpets were wet in some places, and it looked like they were staining. Some people were dancing, but a lot more people were just talking loudly over the music and placing various drinking games.

         I turned to Calum and gripped his hand tighter, not wanting to lose him in all the people. I led me silently through a few rooms, then opened a door, and began to walk down the stairs. Inside the basement was much quieter. A black light was shining over the whole room, and people were drawing on the wall with white and yellow markers that could only be seen under the ultraviolet lights.

        Much fewer people were hanging out down there, but Calum seemed to know just about all of them. I recognized a few people who had graduated from school a couple of years ago, and a few fellow seniors, but other than that, the people were strangers. Calum walked over to one of the corners of the room, where a few boys sat in a corner, smoking.

        As soon as they saw him, they whooped and greeted him enthusiastically. "Cal!!" One of them stood and bro-hugged him. He was a skinny boy, probably about 17.

        "Hey guys. I would ask you for a cig, but SOMEONE here doesn't approve." He nodded at me, rolling his eyes playfully.

        "I'm sorry that I don't want to kiss someone who's breath smells like tar and burnt coffee."

        "I kiss you in the morning." He pointed.

        Hitting him on the arm, I turned back to the guy who was standing in front of us, looking amused. Should I introduce myself?? "I'm Raven, Calum's... girlfriend." It was strange to say.

        "I can tell. Well Jack is upstairs, he'll probably get you guys drinks that haven't been slobbered and pissed in." He said bluntly, sitting back down, popping his cigarette back into his mouth.

        "Gotcha. See you, man." He took my hand again and walked away with me in tow. As we left, I heard laughter and one of the boys distinctly saying;

        "He's so fucking whipped." And the rest of the boys agreeing.

        I rolled my eyes as we walked up stairs, back upstairs. The music had gotten louder, and they were playing a song with an impressive beat. I was tempted to dance, but I just decided on following Calum as he led me around the house, until he found his friend.

        His friend was already wasted and high as a kite, so he really wasn't much help. We endded up finding cans of beer in a cooler. I hated it instantly, but drank a can so Calum wouldn't be able to accuse me of not having fun.

        He kept drinking, and I had to admit, he really was funny when he was drunk. I pulled him onto the center of the living room, just as Disturbia, by Rihanna, started, the bass and beat pounding in my chest and ears.

        "Come on, this my jam!" I joked to Calum, and began to dance. I couldn't dance well, but it honestly didn't matter, no one there was a good dancer anyway.

        We stayed in the living room, and a small crowd accumulated around us. Eventually, Calum and I retreated from the crowd, and went to sit down again. As we pushed our way through people, I almost plowed over a tall girl wearing converse, a leather jacket, and shredded black jeans. "Sorry!" I said automatically.

        The girl turned back towards me, and I looked at her for a moment. Then it dawned on me, who she was. Ava, from the club we'd been at. She looked a lot different here. At the club, she'd worn a button down, and her hair had been pulled back into a ponytail. Her eye makeup was much more dramatic and less girly here. She looked better to me.

        She seemed to recognize me at the same time. "Hey, you're that girl who came in with 5sos." She smiled, clicking her tongue as she said it.

        Nodding, I waved quickly. "Yeah, I am. You were our bartender. The one who was nice."

        Mashing her lips together, she nodded and tucked a strand of her long, burgundy hair behind her ear. "So who are you here with?"

        I pulled slightly on Calum's hand, and be stumbled over to me, a large smile on his face. "Mr. Hammered drunk."

        "Are you... Guys... Like a thing?" She asked, amused.

        I was hesitant to answer, especially since she'd expressed that she might be a fan. However, I really didn't care who knew. As long as my dad and his mom didn't know. "Yeah."

        Ava arched her eyebrows. "Really? I didn't get that when you guys came in."

        Shrugging, I squeezed Calum's hand. "We weren't, then."

        Shrugging right back, she moved another strand of her hair out of his face. "Cool. Hey, you two should come to the club again."

        I decided to tease her, though I felt a bit awkward, talking to a stranger. "You just wanna get a famous person in there again?"

        "Hey, I'll admit, people who are famous tend to have money, and tip better."

        "Still, sounds good. We'll come sometime."

        "Cool." Ava turned away, and walked away. I watched her. I didn't know what it was, but she was someone I could really see getting along with. I turned back to Calum, who was talking to someone. We'd only been there about an hour, and I was ready to go home.

        "Calum. Can we be done?" I asked, making puppy eyes up at him.

        "Hold on." He said to the person he was talking to. He looked at me and rolled his eyes. "Babe. Come on. We've been here less than two hours."

        "Exactly." I said, voice whiney.

        "Please, just stay.... For me." He did his puppy face, which triumphed over my own.

        I relented, and heaved a sigh. "Fine."

        I did stay with him for another hour or so, before I pulled him away from the crowd, and out of the house. I did want to leave, but I didn't want to go home. And that's when I made a very stupid decision. "Calum. Get in the car. We're going to do something that I'm going to regret tomorrow."

        He grouchily got in the car. "You had to drag me away before the flaming shots. And for what?"

        I pulled out of our parking spot, and got onto the highway. "I'm getting a lip piercing."

        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        It really wasn't bad, as far as pain. I walked in, quickly made the decision, realizing that it would fuck up my lip when I decided to take it out. Screw it. I decided on black spider bites. I sat in the chair, and gripped Calum's drunk hand as they peirced my lip. I was nervous about how it would look, but the second I looked in the mirror, I knew I loved it. And I knew Calum did, by the way he was staring admiringly at my lips. It didn't even occur to me how my dad would react. Probably should've considered that.
