Chapter 11- Dinner and Potter
08:54, 4 December 2014The day after the whole... hangover experience, Mikey, Ash, and Luke announced that they were leaving.
As most the announcements were made in our house, it was the dinner table. Since they'd come to visit us, they'd been eating with us like family. I'd actually made dinner. I knew how to cook two things well. Pancakes and Chili. So obviously, I made pancakes, and Jade had assisted me by making eggs, and Mikey had shown off his amazing cooking skills by burning the bacon to the point of no return, so we just had a protein-less meal.
Even though I was usually a nice person, I decided to make fun of him. "Wow, you know what would've been AMAZING with this meal, Mikey?" I asked after swallowing a luge chunk of pancake.
"What?"
"Non-cremated bacon." I smiled, winking at him.
He rolled his eyes like a little sass-master. "Shut up."
"I actually have a really good idea for what would've made this meal better." Ash interrupted.
"What?" Mikey asked, rolling his head in his direction.
"Bacon that wasn't incinerated." He smirked.
"Okay, I get it, guys, I suck at cooking. Let it go." He shook his head, as Ashton and I reached over the table and fist-bumped.
"Hells yeah you do."
Silence for a few minutes as we ate. Then Luke cleared his throat. "So, we just wanted to let you know that we'll be out of your hair tomorrow afternoon."
"You guys are leaving?" I asked in surprise. I mean, they had been there for over a week, but I kind of just assumed that they would be here for a long time.
"Yeah. We don't want to impose on you anymore, and we've been here for almost two weeks. We do appreciate you having us." Luke sounded so formal as he said it, it almost made me snort.
"Of course. You are welcome anytime." Dad responded.
Jade gave him the ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Look. She wasn't too psyched about what had happened the other day. Despite the fact that she was a teen pregnancy counsler, she didn't respond well to her son convincing me to go out and drinnk.
"Thank you, sir." Ashton said, when Luke was silent.
"I think we're all finished, so we'll go ahead and start packing." Luke stood, as did Mikey. "Come on, Ash."
"I'll help them clear the table." He said and picked up their plates and silverware. Luke and Mikey shrugged, and walked down the hall, to pack. I watched them leave, then shrugged and finished the milk I was drinking.
I then stood, and began to clear the table with Ashton and Calum.
"Well, honey, if they've got the dishes, we should watch a movie." Dad suggested to Jade.
"That's a great idea." They both stood, and retreated into their room.
Ashton, Calum and I finished clearing the table, and I began to wash dishes, as Ashton put them away. Calum wiped off the counter's and tables, but seeing as both Ashton and Calum were holding towels, they obviously couldn't just maturely do chores. t turned into a towel-snapping war.
"TAKE THAT!" Calum threatened Ashton, snapping his towel extra hard. It whipped onto Ashton's leg, with a loud crack.
"C'mon, Rave, I need backup!" Ashton begged. Smiling and rolling my eyes, as ya do, I picked up a towel and joined them.
Ashton and together were able to towel-whip Calum into the corner of the kitchen, until he put his hands up in surrender.
We high-fived. "No one can defeat the Ash and Rave."
Calum just rolled his eyes and continued wiping off the counters. I stepped back over the sink and finished washing the dishes.
We finished cleaning the kitchen up, and retreated into the living. "We should watch a movie." Ash suggested.
"Great, what movie?" Calum asked.
"Harry Potter." I suggested quickly.
"Sounds like a plan."
We popped it in the blue ray, and settled on the couch. I sat in the middle, and we got about fifteen minutes into it, before Mikey and Luke walked out and joined it. We all crowded onto the couch, and I was rather smashed into Calum.
After the first movie, we decided we'd watch the second, and about halfway through, just when Harry is suspected as the heir of Slytherin, I began to get very sleepy. I closed my eyes, and leaned my head on the closet thing to me. Calum's shoulder. Despite my exhaustion, I could feel three sets of eyes boring into Calum and I. I was also very aware of Calum's small smile. I struggled to keep my eyes open, but for some reason fate was against me, and I couldn't. The drowsiness won, and I slowly fell asleep on him
