Chapter 14

Niall’s flat is dark, illuminated only by candles. I walk in slowly, closing the door after me. I hear a song playing quietly. I walk in Niall’s room, to see a pale pink dress, with a little loop on the small belt, on the bed. I find a note next to the dress. 

Hey beautiful. This dress is for you. Put it on please. I love you xx. -Niall 

I put on the dress and place my hair a bit. I feel someone taking me from the back. 

” Hey love. You look gorgeous. ” Niall whispers in my ear.

I smile and hold his hand. I follow him to the living room, where a dinner is waiting us, on the living room table. Niall turns to see me, hoping I like it. 

” It’s beautiful. It’s just so romantic! ” I jump in his arms and he hugs me tight. 

He gives me some kisses in the neck and look at me, smiling widely.

” Let’s eat. I’m hungry! ” 

I laugh and we sit in front of the delicious dinner he cooked. Or not? That’s not important. This is our night. After the dinner, we walk to Niall’s room to cuddle in. We fall on the bed, my head on his chest. He puts the covers on us and look at me. He places the hair that’s in my face, staring at my eyes. 

” What? ” I say, blushing.

” You’re so beautiful Avery. ” He whispers.

He kisses me passionately, now hover over me. I take off his shirt, to feel the warm of his body against mine. I whisper him ” I love you. ”. 

” I love you too, babe. ” He whispers, kissing me.

Next day

I wake up in Niall’s arms. All I wear is underwear. Then I remember last night… The best night of my life. Niall is still asleep, so I look up at his cute sleeping face. But I suddenly receive a text, from Alexis.

Hey. When will you come back? I miss my best friend. I’m sorry for what happened. Can you come today? 

I look at Niall, and at my text. I get out of the bed and put clothes on quietly. I let him a note saying i’m going home, and that days I spent with him were amazing. I call a cab and go home. 

” Hey! ” Alexis says.

” Hey. Tyler isn’t here? ” I ask, putting my bags on the floor. 

” Yes. He’s still asleep. ” 

I walk to my room and put my stuff in my drawers. I lay on my bed to read my new texts. There’s one from Niall.

Why did you leave so early? 

I text him back that Alexis wanted to see me. Just at this moment, she gets in my room.

” Will you stay in your room all day texting to Niall? ” She says, looking upsets.

” No. It’s just, you’re with Tyler. I don’t wanna bother you. ” 

” That’s it. Now that you’re back with Niall, you don’t want to spend time with me anymore! ” Alexis shouts.

” No! I just don’t feel your boyfriend… And I don’t wanna bother you both! ” I reply. 

She looks at me, looking pissed off. Tyler walks to my room and put his arm on Alexis’s waist.

” What’s going on babe? ” He asks, with that voice that disgusts me.

Why do I hate this guy so much? We didn’t even talk to each other!

” Nothing. Just my supposedly best friend doesn’t want to hang out with me. ”

” I never said that! ” I shout.

Tyler looks at me with disgust and turn back to his girlfriend. Great, our hating feeling is reciprocal. He takes Alexis’s hand.

” Babe, we can spend the day together if you want to? Look what I have for you! ” Tyler says, showing her two tickets for Metallica.

” Tyler! You’re incredible! ” She answers as she jumps in his arms.

” Alexis? I thought you didn’t like metal music?! ” I ask her, breaking her happy moment. She turns to look at me, really looking upsets.

” I never really listened to their music, so I don’t know why I said that I didn’t like them. Anyway, things change. ” She answers, looking back to Tyler with a big smile. He leans down to kiss her, so I walk quickly out of my room. I don’t want to see them kissing. I sit on the couch and turn on the TV. I hear steps coming in the living room, so I look up and see Alexis, holding  Tyler’s hand.

” If you’re so rude then just leave. ” Alexis says in a dry tone.

” I’m not rude, I have the right to leave my room. ” 

She sighs and rolls eyes. She’s really getting on my nerves. 

” Then why you just don’t leave the flat? Go join your Neil! ” She shouts.

” NIALL. His name is Niall! And yeah, I’ll leave. I can’t support you anymore. You’re not my best friend, you changed so much. You’re not the Alexis I met when I was a kid. ” I say, walking to my room to take my bags and walk away. 

I call a cab and he takes me to Niall’s apartment building. I have no where else to go, so I hope it won’t bother Niall. I take the elevator and knock on his door. He opens it, surprise to see me there, with my bags again. He lets me get in and closes the door after me. 

” I’m sorry if I bother you. Alexis and I had another fight, for stupid stuffs. She tells me to leave, so I did. Can I stay here? At least for the night, and tomorrow I’ll find another place. ”

” Sure, you can stay here, longer than just the night. ” He answers before giving me a hug.

I feel his breathe in my neck, his arms holding my waist tightly and the warm of his skin touching mine. I close my eyes and enjoy this moment. But he pulls away.

” Avy, can I tell you something? ” He asks, looking down and playing with his fingers nervously.
