~Tate's POV~

Goodbye, Arizona. Hello again, Forks. Me and my older twin sister, Bella, are moving back in with our father, Charlie. We used to visit from time to time, but that stopped about four years ago. My sister is moving because she thinks my mother is unhappy not being able to travel with Phil, which she is, but I'm moving to get away from my past. From HIM(Not Phil). My mother offered for me to come, but settling down with my dad who just so happens to be the police Chief.

Bella holds a plant while I hold onto my sketch book, eager to leave. I love my mom and I have love for Phil being as he makes my mom happy, but my anxiety grows worse and worse as time goes on. Every second standing here is another second that HE can get to me. I can tell from my sisters face that she's going to miss Phoenix. Me and her are similar in many ways, but my personality is deeper and I'm not going to lie, more aggressive.

The heat is one thing that I won't miss. Being warm is great, but the blistering heat? No way. I'd honestly prefer the cold and the rain. Something I WOULD miss, my loving, erratic, harebrained mother. My mother gives us both a kiss on the cheek and she says her goodbyes to Bella. Me and my mother are close, but she definitely favors Bella. I'm more of a daddy's girl, to be honest, but don't tell anybody else that.

Phil calls out as he closes the trunk, "Renee, Bella, Tate, come on. I love you both, but we got a plane to catch." We get in and as I continue to finish my sketch of my mother, I can't help but think about how good this is for us. The plane ride  is as tiring as the ride, but at least I got to finish my sketch. I love sketching just as much as I love playing the guitar. Yup, I play the guitar.

In the state of Washington, under a near constant cover of clouds and rain, there's a small town. A town called Forks where we're moving to. Population, 3120. Right now we're in my dad's car after embracing him warmly. I miss him and the smell of his aftershave. And the smell of cheap coffee. I don't drink the stuff, but I don't mind the smell of it either. I prefer tea If I'm being honest.

We pass by the welcome sign and I continue holding my sketchbook, leaning my head back on the seats as I watch the vast amount of trees pass by. Dad says to us, "Your guys' hair's different. Longer." Bella plays with her hair, "I cut it since the last time we saw you." Dad says awkwardly, not really knowing how to respond, "Guess it grew out again." I say, trying to lighten the tension, "I just grew it out and took out the curly layers. Plus, ya know, I learned how to use tweezers." Him and Bella lightly chuckle.

We pull up to the house and get out. I'm instantly flooded with memories. I specifically remember making mud pies and throwing them at Bella and Jacob. Jacob is someone I need to visit. We used to be close. You could definitely tell that he had a crush on Bella though. We used to spend two weeks here almost every summer, but it's been years. I've kept in touch since then with dad, but he's busy a lot of the time so sometimes he wouldn't be able to respond for weeks at a time. A few times months.

Dad helps us get our stuff out. I sling my guitar over my back, keep my sketchbook close, and grab my very large duffle bag while dad carry's Bella's things. We walk upstairs and we go to our designated rooms. Mine hasn't changed much, unlike Bella's. It's totally her style. Dad says as he puts her stuff down, "I've cleared some shelves off in the bathroom." Bella nods, "Right, one bathroom." I for one keep my things in a private bag usually. I just like to save room.

Dad says, "The sales lady picked out the bed stuff for you guys. You like it, right?" We both nods and say, "It's cool."

(Ignore the cat, candles and plants.) I put my guitar by the bed, and put the duffle on the edge of the bed. I then place my sketch book on the end table. It's silent again as we all look around. Dad just says, "Okay," and walks back downstairs. That's another thing I love about him, he doesn't hover; he's not a helicopter parent. A car horn honks and I look outside to see a rusty, but nice, truck with a motocross bike next to it and dad standing next to Jacob and his dad. I give my usual half smile and walk downstairs, outside.

Bella follows suit and we face the silly men in front of us. Dad says, "Bella, Tate, you guys remember Billy Black?" We smile and shake hands, Bella saying, "Of course." I chime in, "wow, you're looking good, sir." He smiles, "Well, I'm still dancing. I'm glad you guys are finally here. Charlie here hasn't shut up about it since you told him you were coming." Dad rolls his eyes and looks away, causing us to laugh.

Dad says to him, "Alright, keep exaggerating. I'll roll you into the mud." Billy chases him, "After I ram you in the ankles." Dad says, "You wanna go? Yeah?" They're acting so happy and childish, causing us to smile and laugh. Jacob walks closer to us, "Hi, I'm Jacob." They shake hands, Bella responding, "Hey." I smile and we shake hands.

Jacob says, "We used to make mud pies when we were little." Bella nods, "Right, no, I remember." I ask, "Do either of you remember how many mud pie fights we had?" They chuckle and he says, "You mean how many I won?" I guffaw, "YOU? Yea, right. You're remembering it wrong, jackie boy. I won. You both were TERRIBLE with your aim and were barely able to catch up to me." We all start laughing. I missed this. I ask, "Are they always like this?" He nods, "It's getting worse with old age." Dad walks over, Billy following close behind him, and puts his hands on the bike and truck, "Well, what do you guys think?"

We both ask at the same time, "Of what?" He gestures to the vehicles, "Your homecoming presents." We both light up with joy and excitement. Dad smiles, "Just bought it off Billy here. Gave the bike free." I can't believe it! I've been into bikes since I was a little girl! Jacob says, "I totally rebuilt the engine for you, Bella. And I actually put that Bike together, Tate." We both say, "Oh, my gosh! This is perfect!" I sit on it and turn it on, revving it as it purrs.

Bella opens the door and accidentally hits Jacob with it. She's too excited to really care, but she apologizes anyways. Poor Jacob. They get in the truck and Billy gloats, "I told you they'd love it. I'm down with the kids." As I continue to basically DROOL over my bike, dad says, "Can't go riding around without this." I turn to look and catch the item just in time. It's a helmet. I turn it all around and see a cursive T carved into the back of the helmet. I love it.

Jacob says to Bella, "Listen, you gotta double-pump the clutch when you shift, but besides that you should be good." Bella grabs something, asking, "That's this one?" He nods and I call to them, helmet on, "Hey, guys!" They look over and I make it rev again, a few times actually, really fast. I start nodding, smiling, "Huh? Cool, right?!" They laugh and I still can't get over it.

Me and Bella both ask at the same time, "Do you want a ride to school or something?" He chuckles, "I go to school on the reservation." We nod. That sucks; it would have been nice to know besides each other. I ask, "Dad, since school starts tomorrow, do you think I could go for a run now?" He says, "Sure. There's a path just down the road that leads back a little further down from that; try not to strain too far from it, okay?" I nod and take off my helmet, grabbing my keys, and running inside to change.

I put my hair into a ponytail and start my run. I love running. It's so nice and peaceful. It usually got too hot to do in Arizona, but it's perfect here. My run goes good for a while. I don't  have people coming up to harass me or animals jumping out at me. Maybe I should take a break? As I'm thinking that, I trip over something, causing me to tumble down a hill.
